I'm usually not a fan of how JRPG handles their soundtracks. Most of the time you're in dangerous situations and you have some contemplative beats accompanying you in your battle. I aways preferred the more somber and dramatic OSTs of western RPGs, but the Megami Tensei series is one that keeps on rocking hard at every new installment. This is by far one of my favorite battle themes in any JRPG.
I love the guitar part in that idk what kind of effect it was but I'm assuming it was a a bit of chorus, phaser and a multi voicer effect really cool stuff from atlus!
