I wish I'd seen these sooner, i bought an R53 at about the same time, and you've done all the stuff I've done or plan to do, but jumped in and done it in one go. Love it
Agree with GH you should have a little screw driver like tool that goes in the arm of the tensioner spring. helps heaps. also think about what you use for your headings if you want to grow the viewers. Maybe put mini r53 in the heading. , thats what people will search for. cheers Ian
Having done the clutch on my R53 Mini I am enjoying you go through several of the challenges I did. ModMini is the bomb; I could not have done the job without his excellent instructions!
You need to put the belt round the alternator and the last part needs to be the idle pulley. Because it doesn’t have a ridge on it you will find it easier to slide on. Also the belt tensioner should have 2 holes so you may find the pin is in hole number 1 but to get the tension off you will need to use the tension tool and slide the belt on at the same time. If your slipping off, use a block of wood against the side of the tension tool to keep it in place. Once you’ve done it you’ll do it each time easy. First time is always a bit of a pain. Nearly there though
Yeah the tool is in hole 1, so looks like I still need to relieve some tension on it. And putting it over the idle pulley last because it has no ridge sounds like the thing to do. Will give it a go and hopefully that does it. Cheers mate 👍🏻
@@NotEconomicallyViable best colour next to British racing green and silver in my opinion all of which are rare to get your hands on, you made the whole thing look easy striping it down I got a clubman that need front wishbone bushes replacing but scared to do the work
You see the nice edited version - definitely not that easy in real life. I can tell you when I started I was anxious as hell. But it passes - you just have to get over the initial hurdle 👍🏻
Absolutely loving this series, the channel deserves to blow up. Keep up the great work
Thanks, Charlie. Really appreciate that 🙏🏻

Nice one, Ian. Got the tool on hole one at the min, so will give it a go in the second hole 👍🏻

I owe pretty much everything to Mod MINI haha. And great to hear that you're enjoying watching me suffer 😅
