    Hello. I am currently buying what is needed to do this. I have the set to lock the cams but I cant seem to figure out where to lock the Crankshaft? Do I really just set it to mark and keep an eye on it or is there a slot I dont know of that locks the crank? Thank you so much

    Really cool video! ICE engines are beautiful pieces of Mechanical Engineering. They will be missed when they go away. Is that the 2.0L 200hp one?

      Of coarse they are! But don't mourn them quite yet. They still have long way to go..... It's the most versatile engine type ever produced. And yes you are right it is the B402T5 engine.

    Hi sir, great job. I wonder that how did you align camshaft position before you put the belt on it? Is there any sign?

    Interesting video, im pretty sure you rotated the timing belt tensioner the wrong way. Also, i didnt see any cam seals get put on before the cam gears?

    • @amtperformance7072
      @amtperformance7072  Год назад +1

      Hello. The belt tensioner must be rotated clockwise but even anti CW the pointer comes to the right place. When i put the cam gears to check the rotation of the cams, the seals was not on. But later in the video the cam gears are seen both on. I just didn't film the installation of the cam seals.

      @@amtperformance7072 in the way you did, tensioner is not applying "dynamic" tension because the spring was not preloaded by turning in the wrong way.

    how did u get the timing belt on so easily i been trying to get it on and i’m not able to get it on 😭

    • @amtperformance7072
      @amtperformance7072  8 месяцев назад +1

      Have you retracted the tensioner all the way back? The tensioner lobe must be at 9 o clock aproximately. Also have the inlet cam sprocket bolts lose so it can rotate slightly. If you still cant put the belt on, maybe the tensioner or the belt are wrong for this engine.

      @@amtperformance7072 if i was able to i could of sent u a picture of the tensioner but idk which way to retract the tensioner it’s the right belt and tensioner it’s a 2004-2005 volvo s40 2.4i

    How did you align the exhaust cam with its gear because it moves 360 degrees freely? Need help!

    • @amtperformance7072
      @amtperformance7072  10 месяцев назад +1

      On the opposite side of the gears the cams have slots that must be parallel to the face of the head. There is a special tool that inserts and holds the cams together at the right place so you can tighten the central bolt of the exhaust cam

      @@amtperformance7072 Is it possible to do it without the tools?

    • @amtperformance7072
      @amtperformance7072  9 месяцев назад

      @@jokuvaan6202 Yes it is but you cant avoid to unplug the round caps at the back of the camshafts. The special tool is very easy to make one yourself. It is a straight 5mm thick qnd 3cm wide piece of metal strip with 2 indents to lock the slots of the cams. If you search on the internet you will find pictures of it.

    Hello, I would like you to help me with some information: the oil meter rod of my car (Volvo V40 2002) is made of plastic and it broke in half, leaving one half inside. I would like to know if it ends up in the crankcase? Is it advisable to move the car like this? If it can cause serious damage? Your guidance would be of great help to me, please 😢

    • @amtperformance7072
      @amtperformance7072  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hello. Yes it reaches the oil pan. It is better to take the sump out (it is not that hard) and find it. It is quite common on many engines. In most cases it cant cause problems because it is away of the crankshaft and cannot brake in smaller pieces. BUT, i have seen some of them eventually break in realy small pieces and been sucked by the oil pickup inside the oil pump with disastrous results. I would advise you not to risk a scenario like this. Thanks for the comment!

      Thanks for the comment. Can you explain why it's wrong sealant please?

    • @volvorama
      @volvorama 8 месяцев назад +2

      I dont see what sealant it is but you put too much it. Volvos own sealant is part number 1161059 , also Loctite 510 is proper stuff. Sealant must be anaerobic so it hardens when it does not have any air. If your sealant is like that its ok but dont put it so much. Sorry my english, i live in northern europe. 😋

      @gwaddy4746 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@amtperformance7072you are supposed to use an anaerobic sealant. Not RTV silicone sealant.
