    Love these ergo reviews Chris!
    As for the bike… I wonder how long it is for the world with the R7, cbr750r and a possible gsx-8r on the horizon? It’s also been a bit curious to me how they’ve added so many toys over the years whilst doing nothing about the kinda crappy for the price suspension.
    Personally I see no reason to spend over $10k on a LAMS bike, but I guess it’s always nice to have options.

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  Год назад

      Yea it's interesting to see how the competition and expectations are really changing, with suspension always seeming to be the last to change drastically. There's a lot to be said for buying a smaller cheaper bike as your first machine too.

    A lot of people say the n400 is slightly more aggressively seated than the n650 due to the handle bar position. I sat on both, and at 6' 2" (189cm) I don't notice a difference in body position. I think the difference is more exaggerated for those who are less tall than me.

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  6 месяцев назад

      Yep, those little differences in proportions can have a big impact, not to mention what people are used to, when they try something different.

    my height 5'5" do you think the bike is a good fit for me?

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  Год назад

      It probably comes more down to inseam than height, if we're talking primarily reach to the ground, as there's a lot of variance there, at similar heights.

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  Год назад

      Do you know your inseam length? I'm a bit on the longer legged side for my height and I find the fit good, but that's at a 32 inch inseam. There's a bit of subjectivity there too, as all my bikes currently have quite low seat heights and seat to peg ratios. I'd hazard a guess you'd be fine, unless you want something more stretched out, like a tourer or cruiser. Thanks for watching!

      thx dude i whas also looking at a r7 that bike has a higher seat or do you think ninja 650 is better ??@@MotoJournoKris

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  Год назад

      The way I look at it is the Ninja 650 is a bit more relaxed of those two, you still get the sporty styling, but taller 'bars and more of a sport-all-rounder. The R7 is closer to a supersport, bit more aggressive ergos and 'bar placement, mirrored by the suspension loadout. There is a pretty significant difference in seat height, but you're probably best jumping on both bikes and seeing which you like the fit of, as despite the taller seat, I don't think the R7 will be any roomier between the seat and 'pegs, and is actually a bit more compact from memory there. @@tosti1525

      I've always been happy with the Yamaha sold Akrapovič systems on the MT-07s which should be similar to the R7, more generally I'm a fan of Arrow but I'm not sure what they make for the R7. I like them not to be too obnoxiously loud though. @@tosti1525

    Leggy?! I'm 180 with 86cm inseam.
    I get leg cramps on every naked up to and including 650s. I either get a monster 1l naked/sports (which for a beginner is pretty bad) or I give up on the sports and nakeds and just get an adventure.

      You could try a taller custom seat, or some adjustable 'pegs to drop them down a little - although you can lose ground clearance there.

      Got the power where you need it on the Road

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  Год назад

      It's actually a really solid engine, but we've seen a lot of manufacturers move to 270 degree parallel twins because they are so characterful, which I think just adds something a little special which people really enjoy.

    • @250ignacio
      @250ignacio Год назад +4

      4 cylinders for the city or road or highway is a stupidity. Those are just for racing.
      If you have a 4 cylinder for the city or commuting or highway you are and idiot:
      - expensive
      - 90% of use outside the race track is done in the mid range of RPM, where the 4 in-line does the same HP as twin cylinder (stupidity at its maximum expression)
      - Its power is top at top rpm so you must go at 200 km/h to enjoy it. At those speeds a little rock on the ground can kill you.
      - high temps and high fuel consumption.
      - no power at all at low rpm, so from traffic light to traffic light this “little” twin 650 will beat the crap of a R1 pr similar. With more than less half the cost.
      4 cylinders are unnecessary. Expect for racing on a race track.

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  Год назад +2

      @@250ignacio That's typical of supersport 600s which are very revvy and lack torque at low rpm, but before parallel twins became the norm there was plenty of torque tuned fours that were exceptional machines and designed for more mid-range and not peaky top-end performance.
      Most nakedbikes running a four-cylinder run the same kind of setup today and are great machines if sometimes a bit of overkill, the Ninja 650 stands out because it's all the benefits of a nakedbike but with fairings, which is fairly rare in this category, as well as good value. That makes it a great commuter and all-rounder, if a little more restrained on performance, with the biggest criticism normally being this style parallel-twin is boring to some riders.
