    Great video! Small tip for locks that PvP, Rank7 pvp gloves have a 50% chance to resist interruption when casting Searing pain, as well as some nice stamina on them! Also your tier gear also has a lot of Shadow resistance, so it's not as hard as you think with a few choice shadow resistance pieces to get to shadow resistance cap when you're fully buffed!
    Gift of arthas is also a cheap consumable that gives +10 shadow resistance and it stacks with everything else.
    Can't wait for this :D have fun!

    During the switch, the Twins wipe aggro, but retain any debuffs/dots. What caused us to wipe initially was post teleport Vek'lor running after mages with Ignite ticks on him, thus coming close to his twin and healing.
    It's very important to treat every teleport as brand new pull aggro-wise. This is an endurance fight, not a DPS race. We've actually had our mages switch to frost attacks on this one.
    Ironocally, i found this fight much more difficult than C'thun or Viscidous. We downed C'thun after 2-3 attempts. Took us about 16 wipes to get Twins more or less under control.

    @Raserisk Do you think it is important for locks to have Nelth's Tear for this fight? As far as I can tell, there are two times when threat generation is a key responsibility of the lock tank: 1) on the initial pull and 2) after the teleport when the lock must grab threat off the warrior tank. It seems like Nelth's Tear would be helpful for increasing the overall dps of Searing Pain and thus ensuring the lock generates sufficient agro in these 2 circumstances.

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  4 года назад +1

      Neltharion's Tear is very important for Warlocks since it's BIS for just about all of Classic but if we're just talking about this fight specifically and if it's really *needed* then I would say not really, these videos were based around first time progression clears and just letting the Warlock have roughly 10 seconds to create a threat buffer is totally fine.
      This content along with everything else seen in Classic will most likely be much easier than private servers and not require as much preparation or gear.

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  4 года назад +1

      Nah let the tanks get the Reel for when they have to do 4H, super important item for them. Just tell the raid to stop DPS'ing for 2-5 seconds when they teleport since its a aggro wipe and it should be enough time for the Warlock to build threat with searing pain spam.

      @@Raserisk what if all the tanks have it already? would you use it if given the option?

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  4 года назад +1

      I would recommend that it starts going to DPS warriors because of how important that trinket is for 4H, any of them could have to tank it and since the fight requires 5-8 tanks depending on the strat, every warrior could use a reel. I would not use it personally.

    • @TobiasGellen3692
      @TobiasGellen3692 4 года назад +1

      @@Raserisk if possible could you elaborate on why you wouldn't use it? would you use toep/shadow reflector if you don't have a tear?

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  4 года назад +1

      I would prefer to use a DPS trinket and I think the temporary amount of hit that you get from it just really isn't necessary considering the overall fight, it will probably be much easier in Classic than private servers. I'll probably just use TOEP/ZHC with my Tear and maybe 50-100 unbuffed SR, haven't thought too much about it but considering the rest of Classic so far I don't think the fight will be very hard.

    Wondering why there are bareley any guides on the 2 warrior tank strategy. Back then our raid downed those pretty fast compared to other raids NOT using warlock tanks. As far as i remember we used casters for the bugs and all physical dps to kill the bosses and tank had to hold aggro with initial aggro taunt and demo shout (only vs heal ofc)

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  4 года назад +1

      You would have to be more specific and give me a time stamp. It's possible that it was a private server only mechanic since things like Zanza's and Blasted Lands buffs could stack...You could also pop Shadow Ward and have a Greater Shadow Prot Pot up at the same time. Probably a private server only thing to be honest.

    Have you ever tried to move in when they teleport and grab the initial threat so you don't have to pull Vek'lor off the tank? AQ releases on Lightshope on Sunday and I want to know if this is at all a viable strategy.

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  6 лет назад

      Not really viable since the boss will be glued to the tank and trying to move in could cause you, the tank or both of you to get hit by Arcane Burst which will disrupt positioning.
      Also the teleport is never certain since it happens anywhere between 30 to 40 seconds.

    • @Lighthammer18
      @Lighthammer18 6 лет назад

      Ah I see, do you know if the shadowbolts can crit you? Or do they only do 3000-4000 damage each hit? And what is their cast time? Seems to be about 2 seconds with a slight delay when he's throwing a blizzard out. This would hit you with about 1750 dps, which at 300 SR at 0.25% average dps reduce per point of resistance (75% mitigation) should require an average hps of 437,5 from your healers.
      At this resistance his shadowbolts should hit you at;
      1% chance for 3000-4000
      3% chance for 2250-3000
      16% chance for 1500-2000
      55% chance for 750-1000
      25% chance for a full resist.
      Does this seem correct to you?

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  6 лет назад

      1. I have been crit by Shadowbolts before (At 7:46 I'm hit for 4345) however I left this info out of the video because I wasn't sure if this was a private server or blizzlike thing.
      2. I believe the base amount is 3000-4000 before being affected by resistance or crit. QSW has this amount labeled as 3600 - 4401 which you can look up with Spell ID 26006. I try to be vague or estimate with numbers due to information discrepancy between 2006 Vanilla, 2018 Private Servers and future Classic.
      3. QSW labels the cast time as 1.0 however with Latency and Travel Time it's realistically closer to 2.0 seconds before hitting the player.
      4. Sounds about right though don't take my word for it since I'm terrible at math. My guild drilled into my head that Resistance Breakpoints were 165/240/315 corresponding to 25/50/75% damage reduced. This could be different once more due to various projects messing with numerical values. Classic will clear things up.

    • @Lighthammer18
      @Lighthammer18 6 лет назад

      Ugh it doesn't help that there are a million theories of how resistances work, even if you look back at elitist jerks threads from 2006. Some say 300 resistance gives you 75% mitigation while some claim 315 on the basis that bosses are three levels above you. This is definitely true for weapon skill and defense, but I don't know if it is true for resistances. There's some ideas of level based resistances that you can't remove with spell penetration, but I'm not sure if you get spell penetration based on the level difference. At 300 or 315 resistance you should be hit by 750-1000 mostly but it seems you get hit by much more than that. How many healers do you usually pin on the warlock tank, on progression I mean?
      And thanks for the answers!

    • @Raserisk
      @Raserisk  6 лет назад

      For progression I assume you will have 10-14 healers so typically 3-5 should be more than enough to cover the tanks on the bosses. Their biggest danger will be getting hit by Blizzard and if you go more than 2-3 seconds without heals and consumes on cooldown then you're probably toast.

  • @livinlicious

    Its the classic strategy with 2warlocks 2warriors, but more modern strategy is to go with 2 warriors. The spelltank is using shouts to hold of heal aggro.
    DDs only focus on the melee boss. Its a lot easier and takes the same time with less tank swapping. Less confusion, less margin of error.
    Edit:
    Since you dont need to move for warlock/warrior switch, the warrior tank ALWAYS gets the initial aggro. Which for the spelltank is enough (+shout/ability aggro) to stop healers from aggroing for the whole duration until next switch.
    To make sure that warrior gets aggro guaranteed, melees have to move away at least 5sec before switch. If melees fuck it up, they could wipe the raid. Better to play it safe and announce switch earlier than later.
    Other than that, its a pretty easy fight, just long. Which means its very mana intensive. Also we always had at 2 DEDICATED healers for each warrior (even back in vanilla). Those healers would be ideally the most manaeffective healers that you have. We used to go with 1 druid, 1 paladin for each MT. Twins do actually less dmg than the Bugs can potentially (especially if 2 spawn) but its very consistant and constantly happening over at least 10min.
