One useful thing for the early stages is to reach max power asap, and when dying, returning to max power asap. If not at max power, bosses take longer to beat and enemies remain on screen longer - meaning they get more time to fire bullets at you, increasing the risk. With full power and a lot of memorization, it is possible to predict and spawn-kill most of the enemies. Some risky moments are unavoidable, I recommend remembering those and bombing through them.
TH10:MoF and TH11:SA have a weirdo bombing system that consumes power with each use. The others use a 'traditional' way where bombs are their own separate thing and have no downside when used. In TH06, when losing a life, you lose all your bombs and get 2 new ones. This means dying with unspent bombs is a huge waste and you should prefer to use them instead of attempting to micro-dodge bullet spam that you aren't sure about. This also applies to bosses - through practice you can get better at their patterns, but some parts will still be way riskier than others and should preferably be strategically skipped by bombing. Bombing deletes bullets from the screen for a few seconds (bomb pattern and duration differs between focused and unfocused). Dying clears the screen. Restoring max power clears the screen. Taking out certain fat enemies clears the screen. All of these give you that extra bit of opportunity to survive the bullet hell.
