The fact her power is manipulation of fate and her relevancy in the later games supports this. Besides I like that more than: “waaaah I’m a vampire and the sun will kill me”

@@K1llbornbloodbane That sounds exactly like something Remilia would do. Especially considering she can travel in the sun just fine thanks to sunscreen and parasols. She would totally just want to be part of the new fad.
Just wanted to clarify for the confused, Remilia does use something similar to a spear, but its only seen in the fighting games and unlike Flandre's Lævateinn (which seems to be a physical object she can summon at will) it's made of Danmaku energy instead of being a physical object she could hold 24/7. In both Immaterial and Missing Power and Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, Remilia uses two different versions of the spear-shaped bullet. 'Certain Kill "Heart Break"' and 'Divine Spear "Spear the Gungnir"'. Both attacks can cut through Danmaku and pierce foes with ease, but "Spear the Gungnir" is not only bigger than "Heart Break" (making dodging it a chore), but its also stronger and faster than it too. In IaMP's story mode she'll use an alternate version of "Heart Break" called 'Second Card "My Heartbreak"'. Of course the various artist depictions of Remilia using a spear might actually be her using either "Heart Break" or "Spear the Gungnir" as the size difference between both Spell Cards is pretty noticeable. Although sometimes the spear she weilds in fanart is given very fancy, elegant details to match her personality.
A correction : off is not a mobile game , it's an rpg maker (2003 i think) And it was a surprise to see it on a touhou video Even more because its one of(f) my favorite game , tied with touhou
Remilia's awesome spear is from the fighting games, specifically her spell card Divine Spear "Spear The Gungnir", where she summons a massive fucking spear and launches it forwards at the speed of sound, completely obliterating anything in its path.
17:47 Check out Remilia's IaMP fighting-game official sprite animation for when she uses Spear the Gungnir. The origin of the spear motif is probably more rooted in that.
Playing Touhou 6 was my learning course for dodging bullets. I remember starting playing it in September as a beginer who didn't know anything after many attempts in December I managed to defeat Remilia on normal. For a Meiling PTSD it worth it.
Even tho I love the animation quality of Fantasy Kaleidoscope, I just cannot get past its version of the Scarlet Devil Mansion litterally being Quebec City's Château Frontenac with the Big Ben planted in the middle.
Absolutely AMAZING video. The way you brought the context behind the game development; the lore behind the game; shoot types, and even techniques; characters and all. It's just perfect. I believe that's the best video I've seen about a Touhou game so far. So rich in information. I'm not able to play the game in the moment, so I'm trying to understand more about the game watching videos about it, and stuff. And this video was a complete package. I'd absolutely be invested in a series of these detailed videos about Touhou Project games. Incredible video. Keep up the good work!!! ✨
First and last Touhou game I touched was Touhou 10 and that was in my opinion the best of game i played back in the early 2010s. Now that I am older, I might actually go back to playing it again as well as all the other games.
Embodiment of Scarlet Devil is definitely not my favourite Touhou game, as a beginner PCB and IN are far more to my tastes, but it's the most iconic and important game. Basically all of the characters in the game have had popularity so long lasting after 17-ish years the extra stage boss fight that barely anyone can reach was the effective protagonist of Touhou 17.5. The two mid-bosses without canon names have both been given names and have a reputation of their own right, Rumia whilst not having a major reputation is still pretty well liked I think, and as for Cirno, Meiling, Patchouli, Sakuya, Remilia and Flandre they are all some of the most popular characters to this day. I think it says a lot to how well EoSD sets up the world of WIndows Touhou, even if the gameplay and some of the dialogue itself leaves a little to be desired.
Awesome video! I remember watching these Super Mario 64 Bloopers back in the day. Those are what got me first into RUclips. Then I got introduced to Touhou, and I quickly became a Touhou fan! I’m now a Touhou fan for 13 and a half years with Cirno’s Perfect Math Class being my introduction.
Love this series man, Great video ! the way you structure this video is reminiscent of EmpLemon and that's a good way to go. It makes it fun to watch start to finish
Flandre is such an incredibly recognizable character. Even people who don't know Touhou that well could probably recognize her from her silhoutte alone. it's just the wings isn't it Either way, she's great. Also funny how she barely appears, like, EVER, but is still probably one of the most recognizable and popular Touhou girls
For me, the Touhou Koumakyou was the introduction to Touhou (long story short, I found "Bad Apple" music video, googled some info about it, and consecuently found Touhou). I always liked retro stuff and I also completed Undertale and Just Shapes and Beats around the time when I discovered Touhou. I also always loved indie games that deliver a good challenge (Geometry Dash, Super Hexagon, Soundodger just to name a few). It was a perfect fit and after some time spend playing it (poorly), I rocketed into the fandom and even discovered that weird "crazy error" internet meme and the "Yatagarasu" level from Geometry Dash are basically made with Touhou music, which made me realize that Touhou is a great part of internet culture too
Touhou 6 so far remains the best game for showing someone the basics of the series. Most games since have had gimmicks of some kind. (The cherry thing in PCB is fairly unobtrusive, but is still potentially confusing.) TMK It's also around the middle in terms of difficulty. The only problem is it lacks the hitbox on focus, but there's a fan mod that adds the flnctionality.
18:03 It will never not be cursed that Flan can for some reason use her bow as a sword. Even with magic, that's generally not how that is supposed to work. 18:55 Tbh, that joke kinda works a lot better if it isn't the punchline. Like that one gag in Touhou M-1 GP where Flan is guiding Remilia through the mansion when it's on fire and Patchouli is going to die. Instead of pointing her in the right direction, she leads her to the pads. Remilia gets mad that the priorities are way off, then proceeds to steal them anyways. It works imo because the punchline is on Remilia and Flan, not "hehe, Sakuya padding". 20:05 Who also bullies Meiling, yet somehow that aspect jumped into Sakuya's pot in fanculture instead. 20:56 Flandoor bad, she is carried by her music and her character design. 21:39 Another wave of "first contact with Touhou through U N Owen" I personally know about is that Windows Year 10000-video. 22:25 Audiovisually, it gives the "Early Windows-vibes" comparable to certain old Windows OS-versions like XP themselves. That alone is a major draw for relevancy, similar to how PC98 games have the general retrogame feels.
Funny enought, Flandre comic of her buying something with Rinnosuke for him to say "That will be 1 million yen" it was what pushed me in the rabbit hole Its a pretty memorable game in all aspects (also my first 1cc)
Presumably as a counterpart to the other nameless entity that is on the exact opposite of the chart. And not like it is unwarranted since Koakuma fanons largely range from sesbian lex-memes to being the one truly evil person in the entire IP who is planning everyone's demise. I guess there is just a big market for absolutely insane fanfiction when a western demon shows up and neither the material nor the creator ever elaborate beyond "lol, she exists".
Can you do a video about sumireko and renko usami cuz they both have the same last name but renko never even visits gensokyo while sumireko comes to gensokyo and comes back to outside world and comes gensokyo again
The music is also part of the story. Both the titles and the actual music. Like you can know nothing about the series and the music itself can at least tell you all of the environmental story. Plus it has environmental story that is redundant a little through background visuals, enemy types, and colors. Colors were a big thing because at the time Japanese were used to pc 98. Not capable of displaying many colors at all. When it went to windows it went from like 8 to 158 I think the total is. Other story elements were the spell card names. They gave you an idea of what the powers were of the youkai you faced. All of that plus the dialogue actually told quite a bit more story than indicated in the video. The game probably had the most world building ever in a video game at the time. It probably wasn't even a concept that was taught yet for video game writing. For the time it was one of the hardest shooting games ever made. Mainly because you couldn't beat the game on easy and normal-lunatic were much harder than most arcade shooters primarily because of the perfection they required compared to arcade shooters. Plus I don't really count some of the arcade shooter difficulty because it was unfair sometimes. Touhou is almost never unfair though. Touhou wasn't made with the intent of taking coins from you. So it was the best balanced hard shooter for the time. Zun designed his enemies better than in the PC-98 games. Those games often had nonsensical enemies or enemies too heavily tied to certain game themes. All basic and kinda boring. Touhou 6 added more detail to the enemies and made fairies a main stay enemy for the entire series. Before it was ghosts. So now even the enemies get to be cute girls too. The added detail let you see more clearly what the characters are supposed to look like. Zun always meant for the cute girls moe appeal, but that didn't always come across well in the pc-98. It is one of the only Fantasy shooting games with no science fiction at all really. With organic enemies via fairies, and inorganic magical enemies via traps and those orb things that were backwards in 6. xD I mostly stick this relatively well organized wall here for fun really. Sometimes it's just fun to hear what stuff was like for the time that can often be overlooked due to modern tech. Arcade junkies often overlook Touhou's difficulty because it's not unfair like the games they are used to. Also Remilia's spear is named in the fighting games. The first one. It's Gungnir Odin's Spear of Death. It mirror's Loki's Spear of Destruction as it's implied that they killed the gods for their weapons. Not all that serious as the Touhou story isn't really power scaling on a truly serious level or anything. Also if you argue with me that Loki's spear is something else, that is a spoiler it can change forms. xD
My personal best is Touhou 7, it was the first one I played, has my favorite song in the franchise (Necrofantasia), and Letty White, and is the only one I have finish... So is special.
Ayyy the cosplay sections with ZUN was from AX 2016 and i was very lucky to have seen him in person and he held the spear i made! Forever keeping it because it was a highlight of my life lmao
i love how everyone talks abt how Starbow Break is one of the hardest spells from Flandre, meanwhile i literally never died to it nor used bombs, spell was always a cakewalk to me, meanwhile i rly struggle against most of her other spells
Where the remilia spear comes from is that in one ofthe fightning games for touhou, Remilia had a command input spell card that throws the Gungnir at people. and in official works cannonly states she stole it. Flandre states that she, herself, fought and kill the God Loki for the Lævateinn. So some assumption can be made that Remilia did fight and kill Odin in touhou Cannon in order to attain the Gungir which is the spear allot of people draw her with
Flandre isn't actually trapped. She stays down there because she doesn't need to go out. She can destroy anything, you can't lock her up. She said so herself in an official manga. Her being forced to live in the basement was either a missinterpretation or misstranslation. EOSD is full of it. Like Cirno's name. It's actually Chirno. Chiruno in Katakana.
It's Italian, that's the way it's spelled. In all the Shakespeare plays with Italian characters (like Romeo and Juliet) they butcher the Italian names because English and Italian swap the "c" and "ch" I have no idea why Cirno is Italian
When you said Touhou 6 is a very influential game, that's a fact. Because it's the game that made me love the series way too much. oh, and it also made me a fully-fledged Touhou Artist XDD
Only reason why the 6th one is praised is because of so: 1. It contains a lot of the popular characters (Cirno, Sakuya, Flandre, etc) 2. It was the first game leaving PC-98
Cirno was pretty popular even outside fandom before yumemey (sorry if I wrote his nickname incorrectly) and fumos, thanks to IOSYS I guess Like, 6 years ago NO ONE knew about fumos outside fandom, they weren't popular and editions were small, even amiami stopped selling them for quite a long at some point, so I bought most of my fumos from ebay
koakuma is also my beloved, grah why when you talk about koakuma you talk about KKHTA there are so many great works of koa of her just being the greatest devil assistant whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Here you go again. Comparing to Super Mario of which I cannot relate to cuz I never ever played any nintendo game my whole life. XDD Joke aside tho! This video is really good. So good that I would even recommend it to my friends that know nothing of touhou. Most Touhou introduction videos FAIL to cover the basics and just call out character names without properly introducing them. But your video does it, which goes a long way! Happy Halloween! 🎃
I know the characters just because of the pc 98 era, because i am stuck in the 90s even if i am not from that era AT ALL. This is me, barkingly: a youtuber who is composing and mixing on fruity loops. I have some cringy eras, but they are important to my character in every fandom. If by any chance you see this comment suwawako, accept my greeting and welcome me in the actual fandom side of touhou!
I mean, Daiyousei, an unamed character who MAY have gotten a single word in a manga, still has almost always ranked higher than at least half of the named cast. Being the least popular of the most popular bunch still has it's benefits.
@@lpfan4491 IIRC, there was one dialogue bubble on the panel and three random fairies who may have spoken it, one of which was Diayousei. So she may have gotten a single word in in 20+ years or still hasn't said a thing lol
Tohou 6 is lice spider man 2 (the game) it's the stable game that the series nead to do to be good And Tohou 7 with webs of shadow becose its good but nobody remebef it's
if you need a visible hitbox you probably can't 1cc to begin with i don't get the rng complaint. every touhou has at least one pattern that can kill you if it feels like it. this game just happens to have more of those. if anything the randomness is what gives the series its flavour and makes it stand out from other shmups. eosd is even the mushihimesama futari world record holder's favourite 2hu precisely because of said rng if you're just going for 1cc then you can just bomb anything remotely difficult and effectively eliminate randomness out of the equation. it's only an issue for lnn for which the games have never been designed in mind with, so criticising rng because it's not suited to an unintended self-imposed challenge makes no sense eosd has the most balanced shot types in the series. all of them are viable and none are clearly better or worse than each other. also marisa A's bomb deals the most damage at pointblank my biggest issue with this game is the introduction of spell cards, or to be more specific, the existence of nons. pc-98 bosses have really good pacing cause they shoot pattern after pattern with no breaks, but now bosses shoot these really plain looking and easy patterns before each card. it's even worse when it's a boss like doremy whose nons are actually harder than her spells eosd also has bland stage portions that can be easily beaten with little memorisation or execution, essentially being loading screens that you have to sit through before you can fight the bosses: the actually fun part of the game, though unfortunately every other game suffers from this same issue as well, which is why this series should've been a boss rush instead. if ZUN refuses to design good stages he may as well not include them in the first place
"RNG makes Touhou unique". A good amount of Touhou fans straight up throw a tandrum when RNG becomes even slightly perceptible and claim being rigid is the point. I think it's conceptually dumb, but I'm not in the fanbase and a bloody n00b who can barely beat anything, so my opinion is invalid anyways.
I've discussed if the popularity of a game or a franchise matters on its quality. Some have told me that the fanworks are just the fans doing the job instead of the game creator. The way I see it, the quality of the series and games isn't the same as that of the fanworks, they're both great in completely different ways. I find the character interactions funny in the canon, but most of the time I can't take the human characters seriously because of how stupidly they act, and there are battle dialogues that make me think that there are conflicts that could've been avoided. The fanworks glorify the characters and their interactions, and the visual quality of the fanworks is so great that the source material now feels bland in comparison. Regarding the writing quality though, it seems they're all on equal grounds. Touhou 6 on itself isn't that great of a touhou game (no hitbox sprite, no gimmick, outdated graphics), its quality is outdated by the games that came after, yet it left a huge impact on the fandom, that I believe are driven by nostalgia. They give characterization to midboss characters who do not even have a single thing to begin with except a sprite, and give importance to an extra boss who barely had any re-appearance afterwards (that is until 17.5). The Touhou series lasts for a while, and so does its fandom, and isn't an online game like Overwatch, or a game like Angry Birds that has been shut down by its creator. I don't usually have problems with people having various interpretations of a character, but when I do, it's mostly because they flanderize them, and if not the case, they gaslight me into thinking they are something that is more or less astray from what they really are in canon. (Reimu isn't that hostile towards the youkai, it's just that her job as a shrine maiden pushes her into being so) If the work in question wants to make clear that it's an alt version of a character, then sure why not, no problem for me.
The thing with EoSD is that it is pretty much the 6th PC-98 game, which is understandable given ZUN had already made 5 games for PC-98 and it was his first Windows game so he would want to make things he already knows. But that creates the issue that PC-98 games just don't fit Windows, EoSD is pretty clunky, slow and overall just not that good at least for me. I would honestly rather play MS instead. One thing that I can give EoSD so e slack on is the music, especially the soundfont. It has this strange, nostalgic sound to it that's especially apparent in the songs in DiPP, Legend of Hourai is seriously one of the best songs in Touhou because of that. Oh and it also gave us some classic visuals such as Sakuya'd portraits and Reimu chokeholding Remilia lol.
ehh, i think the OST of the 6th game is pretty good, ngl. Imo, the compositions are great and have aged well. The 7th game's OST is a leap in sound quality but i don't think it makes the 6th game's OST bad. At least it's not repetitive or pierces your ears or something. The instruments aren't bad, but the BGM does sound compressed for some reason, though, like it's being rendered at a low bit rate. However, once you listen to a ton of SNES OSTs like Chrono Trigger you'll probably get used to the blurry sound eventually, lol I'll probably agree with you about the gameplay, though, but then again, I've only played Game 1, 2, 3, and 6 so i can't really compare anything, haha (oh wait, i reread what you said and realized that you weren't criticizing EoSD's soundtrack xD)
Man, EoSD is overrated af. I know that it's the most important game of the series, but it almost like people knows or care only about this game and other games are nothing.
EOSD has been spammed and overhyped to the point that it became my least favorite game only a few months after becoming a touhou fan. The game is clunky, as mentioned in the video. No comment on the characters; I don't have a particularly strong opinion on them. The music in eosd is just mediocre, though. For example: Remi's theme, one of the most popular, is literally just single melodic phrase repeated over and over again by a trumpet. UN owen is even more repetitive, and the idea of a harmonic line is long gone (though her 17.5 theme is pretty good imo). Of course, people are entitled to their own opinion, but I find it funny how people preach something along the lines of "all music after Touhou 8 is bad", when it is clear that the earlier themes were far less polished than they are now. My favorite game (in terms of music) is hsifs for those that are wondering 👍

More people need to know this
Well. Remi herself is the first 2hu char i've ever met, this adorable vampire dragged me into the rabbit hole
Same situation for me essentially.

Hey Mister, wanna get into fandom?
A correction : off is not a mobile game , it's an rpg maker (2003 i think)
And it was a surprise to see it on a touhou video
Even more because its one of(f) my favorite game , tied with touhou
xD
2008 actually

Remilia's awesome spear is from the fighting games, specifically her spell card Divine Spear "Spear The Gungnir", where she summons a massive fucking spear and launches it forwards at the speed of sound, completely obliterating anything in its path.
17:47 Check out Remilia's IaMP fighting-game official sprite animation for when she uses Spear the Gungnir. The origin of the spear motif is probably more rooted in that.
In Th10.5 Remilia does have spears as a sub-skill.
Touhou 6 and Un Owen was her was how I was introduced to Touhou. The story telling in this video makes me feel so nostalgic. Great Video :)
Playing Touhou 6 was my learning course for dodging bullets. I remember starting playing it in September as a beginer who didn't know anything after many attempts in December I managed to defeat Remilia on normal. For a Meiling PTSD it worth it.
Even tho I love the animation quality of Fantasy Kaleidoscope, I just cannot get past its version of the Scarlet Devil Mansion litterally being Quebec City's Château Frontenac with the Big Ben planted in the middle.
man some people would be shocked to know how big rumia community is especially where i am in poland and ive BEEN to rumia
It a little weak but you gotta respect your elders
Awesome video! I remember watching these Super Mario 64 Bloopers back in the day. Those are what got me first into RUclips. Then I got introduced to Touhou, and I quickly became a Touhou fan! I’m now a Touhou fan for 13 and a half years with Cirno’s Perfect Math Class being my introduction.
15:37 Calling OFF an old french mobile game is the most disrespect I've even seen put onto it.
Love this series man, Great video !
the way you structure this video is reminiscent of EmpLemon and that's a good way to go. It makes it fun to watch start to finish
I am now Suwalemon

Oh hey, my Young Descendant remix!
Very poggers for including me!
The ton of covers and arranges are what introduced me to touhou. And of course EoSD has a sizeable impact there too
Flandre is such an incredibly recognizable character. Even people who don't know Touhou that well could probably recognize her from her silhoutte alone. it's just the wings isn't it
Either way, she's great. Also funny how she barely appears, like, EVER, but is still probably one of the most recognizable and popular Touhou girls
even in video about touhou 6, you can't escape KKHTA
I played Touhou 6 multiple times now, and haven't completed it full yet.
The only times I've went far is either Meiling, Patchouli or Sakuya.
It was a perfect fit and after some time spend playing it (poorly), I rocketed into the fandom and even discovered that weird "crazy error" internet meme and the "Yatagarasu" level from Geometry Dash are basically made with Touhou music, which made me realize that Touhou is a great part of internet culture too
God how I love this game
I don't know why, but it really hits different for me; it's always on my mind 24/7
Also 18:54 I need those pillows to live
Touhou 6 so far remains the best game for showing someone the basics of the series. Most games since have had gimmicks of some kind.
(The cherry thing in PCB is fairly unobtrusive, but is still potentially confusing.)
TMK It's also around the middle in terms of difficulty. The only problem is it lacks the hitbox on focus, but there's a fan mod that adds the flnctionality.
0:24 first time ever seeing zun without his beer
That alone is a major draw for relevancy, similar to how PC98 games have the general retrogame feels.
i didnt expect off, one of my favorite games of all time to be mentioned here
I'm so glad to be part of this community ❤
I really love this entire series.

YEAAAHHH IM SO GLAD YOU MENTIONED KOAKUMAS ROLE IN KKHTA I LOVE HER
The Mario part was just straight up MatPat💀💀
:3
Mama mia
Funny enought, Flandre comic of her buying something with Rinnosuke for him to say "That will be 1 million yen" it was what pushed me in the rabbit hole
Its a pretty memorable game in all aspects (also my first 1cc)
14:13 Why is Koakuma considered Chaotic Evil? Is it just because someone needed to fit the slot? Everyone else looks reasonably placed
With organic enemies via fairies, and inorganic magical enemies via traps and those orb things that were backwards in 6. xD
I mostly stick this relatively well organized wall here for fun really.
Remilia has the gugnir spear in touhou 7.5 12.3 (basically all the fighting games.)
When you claim yourself as a Touhou connoisseur but you don't know about this basic lore, how ironic
It's Italian, that's the way it's spelled. In all the Shakespeare plays with Italian characters (like Romeo and Juliet) they butcher the Italian names because English and Italian swap the "c" and "ch"
I have no idea why Cirno is Italian
The name of Remilia's sister is actually Flandoor 🤓
Doesn't Remilia use a spear in the fighting games? There's a "Spear the Gungnir" spell card in IaMP and SWR.
Why, there is... Mtg cards in 19:43, another _universe beyond_ sets again?
Finally found a touhou youtuber who isn't straight up cringy. Thanks dude
When you said Touhou 6 is a very influential game, that's a fact.
Because it's the game that made me love the series way too much.
oh, and it also made me a fully-fledged Touhou Artist XDD
Only reason why the 6th one is praised is because of so:
1. It contains a lot of the popular characters (Cirno, Sakuya, Flandre, etc)
2. It was the first game leaving PC-98
Cirno was pretty popular even outside fandom before yumemey (sorry if I wrote his nickname incorrectly) and fumos, thanks to IOSYS I guess
Like, 6 years ago NO ONE knew about fumos outside fandom, they weren't popular and editions were small, even amiami stopped selling them for quite a long at some point, so I bought most of my fumos from ebay
14:03 Bro did NOT say six 💀
I still love playing Touhou 6! It's so simple yet so charming. Also you can't ignore how iconic it is.
15:08 where is this from? like the video itself
Wasn't expecting Pokémon Battle Revolution music here
holy crap i remember smg4 from all those years ago, the nostalgia is insane haha
koakuma is also my beloved, grah why when you talk about koakuma you talk about KKHTA there are so many great works of koa of her just being the greatest devil assistant whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Patchouli looks like some kind of a genius bookworm
That uses a Fire Magic in a damn library(?) ...why
Starbow Break is actually pretty easy. It's even got a safe spot, the whole row under the right side of the "n" in enemy.
"Icicle fall easy mode "
I've always been confused by others' struggles with Eternal Meek. I always found it one of the easier spells in the later half of EoSD
while Scarlet Devil is indeed iconic, i think Cherry Blossom perfected the formula
but nothing beats UN Owen Was Her
how can you mention rumia withought mentioning Osana Reimu :
Here you go again. Comparing to Super Mario of which I cannot relate to cuz I never ever played any nintendo game my whole life. XDD
Joke aside tho! This video is really good. So good that I would even recommend it to my friends that know nothing of touhou.
Most Touhou introduction videos FAIL to cover the basics and just call out character names without properly introducing them.
But your video does it, which goes a long way!
Happy Halloween! 🎃

So true ~
I know the characters just because of the pc 98 era, because i am stuck in the 90s even if i am not from that era AT ALL. This is me, barkingly: a youtuber who is composing and mixing on fruity loops. I have some cringy eras, but they are important to my character in every fandom. If by any chance you see this comment suwawako, accept my greeting and welcome me in the actual fandom side of touhou!

the subterranean animism in question:
I mean, Daiyousei, an unamed character who MAY have gotten a single word in a manga, still has almost always ranked higher than at least half of the named cast. Being the least popular of the most popular bunch still has it's benefits.
What does "may have gotten" even mean? 😂
@@lpfan4491 IIRC, there was one dialogue bubble on the panel and three random fairies who may have spoken it, one of which was Diayousei.

Tohou 6 is lice spider man 2 (the game) it's the stable game that the series nead to do to be good
And Tohou 7 with webs of shadow becose its good but nobody remebef it's
me realising 5 minutes in its gonna spoil the endings so I have to stop watching cause I haven't seen them yet D:
14:02 is he saying touhou sex instead of touhou six?
My guy, you are everywhere, lol
these games are not so hard though, if you're calm and collected as you focus on strategy of every boss. you'll easy to get the game's mechanic
if you need a visible hitbox you probably can't 1cc to begin with
i don't get the rng complaint. every touhou has at least one pattern that can kill you if it feels like it. this game just happens to have more of those. if anything the randomness is what gives the series its flavour and makes it stand out from other shmups. eosd is even the mushihimesama futari world record holder's favourite 2hu precisely because of said rng
if you're just going for 1cc then you can just bomb anything remotely difficult and effectively eliminate randomness out of the equation. it's only an issue for lnn for which the games have never been designed in mind with, so criticising rng because it's not suited to an unintended self-imposed challenge makes no sense
eosd has the most balanced shot types in the series. all of them are viable and none are clearly better or worse than each other. also marisa A's bomb deals the most damage at pointblank
my biggest issue with this game is the introduction of spell cards, or to be more specific, the existence of nons. pc-98 bosses have really good pacing cause they shoot pattern after pattern with no breaks, but now bosses shoot these really plain looking and easy patterns before each card. it's even worse when it's a boss like doremy whose nons are actually harder than her spells
eosd also has bland stage portions that can be easily beaten with little memorisation or execution, essentially being loading screens that you have to sit through before you can fight the bosses: the actually fun part of the game, though unfortunately every other game suffers from this same issue as well, which is why this series should've been a boss rush instead. if ZUN refuses to design good stages he may as well not include them in the first place
(Reimu isn't that hostile towards the youkai, it's just that her job as a shrine maiden pushes her into being so)
If the work in question wants to make clear that it's an alt version of a character, then sure why not, no problem for me.
However, once you listen to a ton of SNES OSTs like Chrono Trigger you'll probably get used to the blurry sound eventually, lol
I'll probably agree with you about the gameplay, though, but then again, I've only played Game 1, 2, 3, and 6 so i can't really compare anything, haha
(oh wait, i reread what you said and realized that you weren't criticizing EoSD's soundtrack xD)
Is the title a Scott the Woz reference?
i hate the fragments, the old way of getting lives and bombs were better
Man, EoSD is overrated af. I know that it's the most important game of the series, but it almost like people knows or care only about this game and other games are nothing.
I guess you could call it the "Red/Blue" or "Gen 1" (from Pokemon) of Touhou lol
@@KowoishiKowomeiji yeah

Hey! I’m that one kid who reads “warriors” and gets the best grades. Be careful who you’re talking to!
