    Something tells me whatever's waiting for us at the centre of the maelstroms probably doesn't have a big banner saying "WELCOME HUMANS", a nice café, and a gift shop, but we'll see for ourselves soon.

    As a casual player, as is, the sinks are out of reach. So are tech brokers. Gameplay behind the grind wall, no thx.

      For games that have a long appeal and play length, the devs have to place content that is effectively a late-game reward. However, none of this should involve grindy gameplay - players choose to grind. If you are a casual gamer, there's 100s of hours of diverse gameplay that can be accessed without any engineering or rare mat acquisition.
      Its plenty more than enough.
      In any case, the gameplay required to acquire the caustic sinks involved no great deal of engineering. A ship needs to be fast, but that's it. Everything else you need can be bought off the shelf at an average starport.
      If the pulse negator requires a grelic, then that will be trickier, but not impossible. It will involve visiting guardian and thargoid sites and the only recommended engineering for that is the FSD.

    I built a Settlement Thargoid combat Anaconda a few months back but I have not got around to using it. It just isn't my thing. It is understandable that the Thargoid War is the Developers Main Effort. Even so, they really need to give those of us with little to no interest in Thargoids a little love. We have had very little from them for a long time.

  • @dwsnz
    @dwsnz Год назад +1

    The biggest problem with the current state of the war, is that the planetary surface port attacks (the most fun and easily accessible gameplay to AX newbies - as the Thargon spawns don't happen) are now nowhere to be seen - I haven't seen any in 3 weeks, not even after the weekly server updates. There's something wrong there if the most fun and best new addition of the war is no longer being spawned like it was initially. As a result I've gone back to some exploring.
    I think those types of attacks should happen spontaneously anywhere near the frontlines, like the existing scenarios that unfold near megaships etc.

    • @phillipcox6804
      @phillipcox6804 Год назад

      agreed and the random attacks mid jump seem to be ramped up. My everyday AX ship that normally takes a beating just seems to be melting now. After multiple sessions of complete melt, I just put the game down and it was no longer enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, I like a challenge, but just melt, after all the effort to build it.. just meh

    Am I the only one who didn’t really struggle with getting caustic sinks? I feel like I did something different and just kinda got lucky.
    Being said, getting unclassified relics is kinda hard as without a fleet carrier, it’s next to impossible to do alone.

    • @greendango3375
      @greendango3375 Год назад

      that being said there should be some FC selling them around, i never went into thargoid surface site and im 16K out from Sol atm so is basically just a suggestion but i wish there are some guys who selling them atm x'D good sky Commander 07

    • @saraphrim
      @saraphrim Год назад

      What do you need a fleet carrier for? get a 4e caustic cargo rack, one guardian site will give you always more then 3 relics, get a thargoid heart or something and go to the surface site?

    • @congruentcrib
      @congruentcrib Год назад

      @@saraphrim the issue is getting 3 relics and then a thargoid heart. Yes, you can buy them, but they're not something that's just at any old station. Getting the relics isn't hard, but getting a heart can be. The best way to do it is to get a heart, then go to a guardian site, get 3 relics, then go to a thargoid crash site, then use a SRV scarab to carry it all so you can get the grelics. It isn't very easy just because that it a multi hour project. Yes if you need to get 1-3 relics, you can. It might be an all day project, but you can. If you need any more than 3, then it is going to take much more time. You could stock up on relics, but again... this takes time and may not be something someone can complete in a day. Along with that, if you die at any point in that journey, you need to restart.
      What is a much much easier way of doing it is getting guardian relics when you do your guardian stuff. Collect hearts as you kill thargoids, and just store the stuff in you FC for when you want to convert it.

    • @saraphrim
      @saraphrim Год назад

      @Congruent Crib this whole game is time consuming, wouldn't call how long it takes difficult

    • @congruentcrib
      @congruentcrib Год назад

      @@saraphrim i know this game is a grind game. I actually like that. What I’m not a fan of is when major things are locked away for a lot of the playerbase while it’s much easier for others to do so.
      I will say this; the community is great, and odds are if we need relics to get the new module, I guarantee that there will be FC selling them dirt cheap for players (what I’m planning on doing rn)
      I feel like gathering all the things and having no way to save them is the route issue. I’ve never been a fan of “if you lose your loot, you lose everything” in a game where combat is a main mechanic.

    Everything have become hard core grind in this game :( . I want to play but I am tired of making engineering improvements on my ships that are vital to speed up the game loops I like most. All that comes on top of my very limited time in game.

    • @trouvereyork
      @trouvereyork Год назад +3

      No grinding is needed for the caustic sink launcher.
      No grinding is needed to visit guardian or thargoid sites.
      I'm not sure what you mean.
      I know some players choose to grind to acquire mats quicker, but that is entirely a choice. It is utterly not necessary. Players can instead just play for fun and experience the game at whichever speed they find fun to do. Short cutting to late-game rewards is never the best way to experience a game.
