The Scriptures and the mighty power from above are the reason you even want to grow closer. Looking at the martyr's lives for inspiration is an added blessing to give strength to our walk. Why would someone try to dis- courage another from rereading GC, except that they didn't receive the prophet's message as from God?!!! May the LORD, Who must be leading you, strengthen you with new zeal for what's ahead, as you re-read it. Amen

It is not an 'original'' work.
Actually, Ellen White copied it from her husband, James White, who copied it from J N Andrews, the original author .This is all verified and documented.

Why would I want to read a book that claims to be an original work from God - Angel and Ellen - when that is a lie.
The Bible is all sufficient, Read 2 Timothy 3:16.
Ruminate on that and then the rest of Gods word.

As we were "reminded" in our Sabbath school lesson this week (March 2024/lesson 10)
to REMEMBER, as with God, is to take action. In regards to the Sabbath command, action means to keep the Sabbath Holy. It's not just a mental note to remember, but a determination to keep God's covenant.

Thanks Cathy Matthews… that verse is the one with ‘Remember’. While all of God’s laws have the same weight, the sabbath law will have a different application because it is the one the devil and his friends trample on the most. Come the end of time (read Great Controversy), it is enshrined as God shows it off, that we should have kept it, why? Because God changeth not… the 4th commandment

We will be lost while doubting if we keep our focus on men or the tares in the church. If we desire to read GC in full, it's available for sale. Our Wonderful Sovereign LORD is at the helm of His Church (One LORD, One Faith, One Baptism, One God & Father). He knows who belongs to Him. Stay faithful brethren & sisters... That's why we don't even introduce the prophet's writings till the Bible studies are ending, unlike the LDS who, (bless their hearts/not judging their motives), try to convince potential converts to Joseph Smith FIRST, so they can use his statements & testimonies to prove their doctrines & covenants, etc. God's Word is Powerful & when we study it, not just read it, we have all the truth needed for safe passage in the Great Salvific Plan of YHWH , J'Shua, the Son, & the Holy Spirit. But God knew the last generations on earth would need all the help we can get, with all the bombardment of media & atheism & false brethren, etc. coming against the church (satan & his allies in disguise). Technology can be a blessing but used wrongly, a great curse. Let us be wise & spend time with our LORD MORE than anything secondary. By beholding, we become changed into the same image, from Glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD. He's returning for a spotless bride, wearing His Robe of Righteousness.
