  • We put the Marco Polo Pet Tracking System to the test! It lead me straight to Sophie!
    *In the video, I was angling the locator towards my camera so you would be able to better see the screen. For better tracking results, the locator should be kept parallel to the ground - like a compass!

    I'm always amazed at how cats can teleport!

      They just randomly find wormholes

    Thanks for doing a demonstration! What range do you find you get on this, like how close do you have to be to get a signal?

      @kittycatgoadventures  2 года назад +2

      Marco Polo works up to 2 miles (3.2 km) in line-of-sight situations. Expect about a 1/2 mile to 1 mile (.8 to 1.6 km) range in mildly rolling terrain with moderate vegetation. It really depends on the specific conditions in the area of use, such as terrain, vegetation, and obstructions. If your cat is not within the system’s initial range, you can walk or drive around the areal until you come within range.

    thanks for the vid! i'm looking to purchase a non-gps tracker to supplement my dogs FI collar for our mountain cabin adventures, and this was very helpful.

      Here is a write up I did of the system that has some photos of the collar and tracker, along with a detailed review of how it works. You might find what you're looking for there -- kittycatgo.com/marco-polo-pet-tracking-system/

    How would this compare to the cheaper TabCat/Loc8tor?

    • @kittycatgoadventures
      @kittycatgoadventures  4 месяца назад

      I’ve never tried the TabCat before, so I’m not sure. But after doing a cursory google search, it looks like the TabCat only works up to 500ft away, whereas the Marco Polo works up to a couple miles. It doesn’t look like the TabCat has a screen that points you in the direction of your cat either

      @kittycatgoadventures Yeah the tabcat seems to have a shorter range. Just curious about the real world comparison between the two. I have used the tabcat in the past, and it works pretty reliably at a shorter range. It doesn't have a screen, but it is still directional.

    Seems not good if your pet is three miles away from you.

      Rather incredible isn't it how they can make tech to spy on us no matter where we are on the planet yet they can't make a cat collar that is locatable more than some few hundred feet?
