I have cut the slam shadys down to about 1.75-2 inches long, using a 1/15 the ned head have caught two PBs, 29.5 in walleye and 6lb large mouth. In last few months. Excellent lure and color. Works everywhere.

Much better hack IMO is to cut off or crimp down both of the barbs and put a dab of crazy glue on the collar before pushing the plastic home. Also works to repair torn plastics, dab of crazy glue, hold tightly together for 30 seconds, and fixed. Holds permanently, until you lose the jig.

Brilliant. Not sure about cutting the lead off the hook though. You loose more bait than hooks, so why ruin a perfectly good hook? I'd much rather go with the other two setups.

@@Saltstrong I now spend more time within the Salt Strong community comments/postings, looking for the best tips and tricks for fishing in my local area than watching generalized area videos on RUclips that provide advice to more worldwide viewers. One of the best parts of the SaltStrong Community is you can create a posting and have it viewed by local members/anglers specific to your fishing area/s for their advice, and not get advice from people based worldwide. And some of that advice has been worth its weight in gold already. Best fishing community on the web. So glad I joined
