Red Young is a pianist, organist, writer, and arranger based in Austin, Texas. He has been playing piano since the age of 3. He started classical piano lessons at 5, gave his first recital at ten, and hasn’t stopped since. You can expect a wide variety from Young’s solo shows, which often feature songs from Tin Pan Alley and the Great American Songbook, classical pieces from Debussy or Rachmaninoff, and jazz and blues tunes from the likes of Bill Evans, Ray Charles, Oscar Peterson, and Nat Cole.
Young has performed with Joan Armatrading, Dolly Parton, Marcia Ball, Ray Benson, Lucas Nelson, Raul Malo, Delbert McClinton, and many more. He has played on recordings featured in tv shows including Everybody Loves Raymond and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and in movies including In the Line of Fire and Indecent Proposal. Young has performed live on Austin City Limits, Rockpalast (Germany), and with Linda Ronstadt and Sonny & Cher.
