99% of the money goes to Gila, LLC. A private corporation who refuses to give me information about where the billions of dollars are going. They claim that we do not have a right to drive, that driving is merely a privilege. I am currently paying 3 surcharges of $260. $780. That's more than the original ticket of no insurance which I received on my way to a new job. What can we do to fight these fraudulent charges?
I respectfully disagree. The drivers responsibility program has accomplished exactly what it was designed to do which was to screw Texans out of money. It’s not surprising that this was the original intention when they forbid people to be able to pay in advance unless you can pay the full amount. What I mean is you can pay extra and it will be deducted from your balance but you still have to make your payments every month. You can’t pay 6 or 12 months in advance. Another clear indication is they are not notifying people that they are suspending their license. That makes it pretty clear that they don’t want people to know their license is suspended so they can incur more charges. Both of these are examples of despicable tactics designed to cause problems for people and ultimately cause them to fail to successfully pay their fines and get on with their life. This is why the fines are dragged out for 3 years. How many people will not be late on a payment in 3 years? So no I believe the program is accomplishing exactly what it was designed to do. I just think the people were misled about the true intentions of this program. Of course this isn’t the first time Texas politicians have done this. Ever heard of NTTA? The state representatives said the tollways would be made free once they have generated enough money to cover the costs of construction and maintenance and many of them have exceeded those costs by billions of dollars and are still not free. When confronted by channel 11 news In Houston Texas years ago. The beltway 8 construction cost was 290 million dollars and the tollway had generated over 800 million in revenue. The state representative told reporters but the state needs that money and the tollways will be made free when all of the tollways in the entire state are paid off. Which of course will never happen because the state is constantly making more tollways and even reconstructing existing freeways with toll lanes. Not to mention all the wasted money like landscaping and palm trees and other means and the upkeep required to maintain these additions. All put in place to justify the state to continuously screw Texans out of money. How can we ever win our state back from these crooked lying politicians who are put in office to represent and support us Texan citizens?
God help us, I don't know what to do to fight this, I just want them to stop, I was in a vehicle that wasn't mine, they stopped me. As of September 1, 2019 the driving responsibility program has been repealed. And everyone with surcharge fines will be waived.
