First Tempest mod video to mention the tinted plexi that was offset in front of the og vector monitor.
I thought of that months ago, never saw anyone mention it on yt.
In addition to all the other unique tempest cab design features, the tinted front glass panel was a significant part of the originals look and style.
Hope you post a video installing the final tinted glass

Nicely done! I missed out on the panel with the instructions down the centre. Min just has them along the top. I did get the modded marquee, and you're right about the speaker grill being all black. I might try and track down someone with a 3D printer, and see if they can make a faux speaker grill overlay to make it look more realistic. You'd be very much amazed at how the contrast looks on the modded marquee, compared to the A1up marquee. It's like night, and day. Thanks for sharing your progress.

Oh I know it. I replaced my T2 marquee. One day I'll get a new Tempest one but for now does a good job for me. I love the 3D print idea for speaker grill!

looks great! I changed the trackball in mine. it wasn't working right and not moving the player when I was spinning it up. So I got GRS Trackball and it's amazing. glows too. not sure I'm into the other mods yet. but I'll check back and see if you make any on how to do these lol appreciate the vid!

Great mod! I wish you could do another video explains how you did the marquee a little more. Thanks

I'll try to work on that. Trust me, I wish i thought of filming myself doing the mod at the time.

Does anyone know if someone makes a metal spinner knob that could fit the shaft of the current spinner on this machine? I'm not a fan of the plastic knob.

To fit this specific spinner nothing at the moment. The conoany GRS thunderstick has spinners but he hasn't made ine yet that would work with tempest pcb, if you're running a pi though look up on Amazon for thunderstick GRS button hole spinner or thunderstick website. They are metal.

Where did you find the volcano buttons?

I found mine on Ebay at the time but here's a link for them from arcade shop.
      www.arcadeshop.com/i/1539/atari-lighted-start-push-button.htm
You have to buy the cone covers too which are at the bottom of webpage link. If you don't own the mod1up deck the volcano buttons are too small for the A1up button holes. Retro530 or on ebay you can 3D printed volcano button holders that hold buttons in place. I have a pair of those I could sell too if you can't get them. I didnt need to use the holders because the mod1up deck holds the buttons properly. Hope this helps!
