My first vehicle was a Chrysler Voyager which I got in 1992. My seatbelt was modified in very much the same way as yours, i.e. I did away with the lap parts of the strap. However, I now drive a Mercedes sprinter and use the complete seatbelt. I have it on a little motor that I can tighten it so it gives me a bit of support. The problem with doing away with the lower part of the seatbelt is that if you get into a shunt you'll find that your backside will slide right forward. You may want to consider adding a small lap strap to your wheelchair.
Where did you get your chest strap? I'm a C6/7 quad. I drive & I'm trying to find something more than what I have. My 2 in Velcro strap doesn't hold me back well.
I'm looking for a company that makes these types of vehicle modifications I'm in Louisiana the closest company I've been able to find is in Arizona. Do you know of any in the south, or the best way to go about finding one?
