not this video specifically but I want to thank you! Im doing ok for myself but Ive had a few down months lately (business owner and the winter months kill my income) and I am a single mom of 2 with very low support. I have been looking at my budget for a few months but for the life of me couldn't figure out where my money was going and why I was only doing what I was doing. After watching several videos, and seeing all the $2-$4 purchases that were killing people, I decided to look in the mirror. I am now on day 4 of a now spend streak (though I may have to break today because we are out of eggs and bread) But today, I decided to download a spending app and I plan on diligently tracking my finances with categories. Once I get a full understanding of that...I hope to start investing (though that is tricky bc I live abroad and there are laws in this country about investing out of country...even your home country). But I just wanted to say thank you Caleb. You are really helping people!
Sorry for the long comment. ˆˆ

I have about 100 stocks diversified in small, medium and large cap as well as tech, health, energy, consumer, dividend, utility, materials etc and rebalance twice a year. I have some REITs and etfs in areas that I don’t feel secure in, like cybersecurity and biotech.

Shocking how much ppl spend on eating out without any real savings and after of getting out of debt. She easily can clean this up a bit,,save a emergency fund, and 15% in retirement. Then have fun within limits.

Nothing wrong with owning single stocks. The problem is that people buy without doing due diligence. Diversification is for people who do not know what they are doing. The budgeting is right but the investment advice sucks.

I completely agree, his comments on investments are worthless, especially if you look at the average stock prices.
The more I watch the videos, the more I think that Caleb is just a cheapskate trying to convince everyone to live like him, for him all pleasure spending is useless spending.

I really like watching this show. It does burn my bucket that these young people are counting on loan forgiveness for their college degrees. She makes $80,000 a year. She spends and has fun. She wants the tax payers to pay for her college loans. I believe that people took out the loans, signed the papers, they should be financially responsible for these loans. She said her degree took 5 years because she was have too much fun and couldn’t get to her morning classes? Really? None of my debt was forgiven. I made sacrifices.
I’m glad she is getting her financial life in order though.

Definitely obviously spending too much on food and the whole music thing… also a bit wonky with the individual stocks …like long term investing should inherently be boring (we’ve all been there with the swing-trading impulses) but overall she’s in a pretty good spot compared to many of her peers. Now I just need to get that juicy raise… 😓

Her tesla stock is now down 50%, 4 months later worth around 1500$ rip. And her TRULIEVE is valued 613$ now, down 77%.

Hey man. If I wanted too feel bad about my finances, I would just watch Dave Ramsey brag about how much money he’s got. I’m here for the train-wrecks. This is suppose to be a feel good channel!

She needs to do 3 things immediately (according to Dave Ramsey)
1)Setup a min 6 month emergency fund..if you own a condo expect something big to break
2)Once 6 month emergency fund is FULLY FUNDED now start fully funding 401k for retirement 22,500 and then after that
3)Start paying down the mortgage with extra 1k to apply for principle
do NOT buy any more expensive vacations or un-necessary cars
the dream home with big yard and white picket fence will have to wait

It's fine to invest in fun stuff as long as you realize that it's just for fun and you don't expect to make a ton from it, although if you do swing stocks like that you can't just leave it and not look at it
