  • I think documenting a project in progress is too time consuming and counterproductive to the completion of your project. Also I dont think there is much added value of recapping me adding each layer as I go... versus doing Playmaker specific tutorials .
    We will see!

I enjoyed seeing one of your previous videos though I did probably see the playmaker tutorial since it's one of the most popular assets on the unity playstore. You may be confusing people not having any interest in your devlogs with what is potentially happening which is likely that devlogs are kind of a dime a dozen and the algorithm might not being friendly based on your title and or screenshot. So yeah maybe post tutorials or ones based around game mechanics that you are developing. You could still show-off your new game in those tutorials so that everyone is updated. If you are doing the sim genre then its difficult to promote it to game devs simply because there aren't a lot of people trying to make a full sim like that. At first glance with the lighting and effects it came off as a horror game. So if you did a Mashup of those two genres maybe that would set your game apart from other titles and perhaps some of those game mechanics would get more viewd search results because its then tied to a specific genre. So for example people might look up how to make a jumpscare or fps horror game and perhaps it might speed up the process of development if the focus is narrowed down to a short story with various endings rather than full on sim. Some of the sim mechanics could cause spooky things to happen at times as well. One note though I do think the red and blue effect on the house is just a bit too high. Perhaps it would be cool to have it higher in a cut scene, but at the current setting, it may cause a headache if people play with it for long periods.

Thanks Cos for your insight and encouragment. I will def pair back and focus on the love of the game dev work. The rebaking and lighting tweaks are a real struggle for this house model, always looks over exposed or creapy. Who knows how this channel wille morph... but its already feeling positive. Happy 2024!
