This is a very help tutorial, with some great tips and tricks. I wish I had found this video before I made my flares for the first time. They turned out "Okay" but they need more work. Excellent job! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome job Rob. This helps show people just how much work is involved. When doing this type work to sale I think people assume it comes that way or just glue it on. This eliminates the magic wand everyone thinks we use. Great tutorial.. more sanding.. more sanding. Fill.. sand.. more sanding. Lots of work folks. Great work as usual!!
Nice work bro I like the idea with the wide body I have been building die cast for many years lol nothing finished my mind is going more then what I want to do with all of the projects to many to list on the virge of getting one roller done ..good work man
Amazing work man I do 1/24 scale styrene model cars but I can use the same techniques and just twerk it to work and use on my 1/24 scale cars using styrene sheets instead of metal and just Tamiya body filler which is alot finer then Bondo and milput
You. Are. A. Master. Rob. That was great and I definitely picked up some tips here! Question: how do you make the rivets or rivet holes for the flares?
Glad I can help you out. For rivet holes or bolt holes, I just use a tiny drill bit in my pin vise (hand held drill) Sorry, I really should have added that at the end of the video. My bad.
Not sure as I have never used that product, but I guess it would, you just have to be a bit more careful when you sand it as it would be easy to sand away or scratch the soft plastic.
Very strong bond to the metal. I have never had crack or come loose in all the years I have been using this method. I do however clean the metal with was & grease remover before I start applying the putty to the body. No contamination
Honestly.... I WANT TO WATCH THIS TO THE END BUT ITS SO DIFFICULT HAVING TO HEAR HIM OVER AND OVER AND OVER WITH THE "UH... AND UHH"... SO UHHH... SMH I feel like many of you who own these channels DONT watch your own recording. And if you do review your own upload.... how in the world do you NOT hear yourself repeatedly saying "UHHH"? Makes no sense and this guy is VERY TALENTED.

Hi Rob, how do you deal with resin model windows' warping? Love your work
You have to remove the windows, clean all the old glue off, and re glue the window back in
Hi, i knowits old Video but How are you doing rivet dents (that little flat space around rivets)?
I'm trying my hand at a widebody but it's a plastic kit. Would the Testors contour putty mastic work you think?
Not sure as I have never used that product, but I guess it would, you just have to be a bit more careful when you sand it as it would be easy to sand away or scratch the soft plastic.
Thanks for the tutorial! Also, where can I get some putty? (Online would help me out.)
You can find this 'Tamiya Epoxy Putty smooth type putty' from any model stores or ebay

Quick question how well dose this stay on the die cast body?

What type of putty do you use
I know it’s been a year but, He shows in part 1
