    I'm an old scale model car guy from the mid and late '60's as a kid. I used Testor's brand spray cans back in those days. I also had to deal with a lot of "orange peel" as a result. Air brushing hadn't been developed for the scale modeler in those days. I totally skipped the sanding step b/c I didn't know it was necessary, for instance. Thanks for posting, from a subscriber.

    I worked wih airbrushes since the 1960's and also taught classes to art students for many years. I also ran basic workshops on weekends for hobby artists. Paasche produces a couple of airbrush sand blasters. It can be so simple to use that tool to work on restoring medal models and also plastic ones... just a suggestion.

    when you change colors for paint for the sprayer, do you have to clean it each time before the next color or do you have multiple tanks that you just switch out? In other words, ,my concern is if you don't use all the paint in the reservoir, is it wasted or somehow saved and used later? I hope that's clear.
    I assume one would get all the pieces needing the same color, paint all of those, then change the paint color for the next set. What if there is paint left in the reservoir, is that thrown out or is it saved somehow for the next model, next project?

    • @pmb2442
      @pmb2442  3 месяца назад

      @@Wannakatana2112 No always clean between each paint change and usually then you don't have any paint left you can add a little bit each time this way. but if you do it often then I know approximately what I need.

    • @pmb2442
      @pmb2442  Год назад +3

      I don't think it really makes much difference. This works fine for me, I get a nice final result

    • @gutz323
      @gutz323 Год назад +1

      The percentage of volume when weighing paint vs a thinner will not be very much. A 50/50 mix is only a rough guide anyway. Many variables like the room temperature, and the nozzle size of the airbrush will effect the coverage more so than the actual mix of paint, even 5 or 10% either way would be OK in different conditions, although 10% too much paint to thinner ratio may slightly be too much for most average conditions.
