You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
From the start, Ryan was very helpful and is continuing to be helpful about his ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans . Also, they have answered all the questions I have asked & I got outstanding support from his My Shed Plans full package.
*Just completed a big trim project on my house **MyBest.Tools** Performed very well. Also appreciate how easy it is to move, set up and store with the integrated stand. No more cutting wood on my knees.*
We're really hoping this Corded/Cordless feature catches on. It's always easier to choose cordless tools when a cord can be used in those rare occasions when your battery runs out early.
Coptool you know it’s actually really easy to make that Milwaukee table saw corded. I made a little ac adapter for all my m18 and m-12 tools. Take the tops off of beat down old Milwaukee batteries and soldier the right dc adapter volts/amps and boom! Your corded!
That corded/cordless option is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. Being metabo I expected it to be expensive but also expect quality. Durability when bouncing around in a truck or job trailer and use on site is what I care most about. I may buy one of these to add to my fleet.
The plastic piece for the fence is also good for cutting real close to the fence it gives you more room to push the material and it helps from the blade hitting the fence. Looks like a real nice saw 👍🏼
Just bought one of these Nov 16/23 based on all the good reports. What I missed is the riving knives are a huge reoccurring problem. The one I got, the riving knife did not align with the blade. Was off by at least 2 degrees. I fiddled with it for 90 minutes. I got it aligned using shims. Then I said to myself, WTF, this is a new machine and this is not my problem. Took it back.
I like it. It is very versatile for a quick cut at home or many cuts on the job site. As far as the rough top, you probably can wax it if it is a problem for you, BUT,,, most you are going to buy a job site saw are NOT doing fine wood works with a saw like this anyway. really fine wood working almost specifically requires having a top of the line IN PLACE saw with an out feed about half the length of typical 4x8 sheet goods. It's all about your needs.....
Love how you pick the Saw up & out of the box like it weighed 1 pound💪🏼, & carried to a table. You make it look like a toy, even though it’s a great powerful saw😂.... Really impressed with it 👍🏻 Than the Milwaukee is lifted up....oh my!
Looks like a nice saw. Dust collection on any table saw is limited if it only has a cabinet mounted dust port. Bigger cabinet saws will sometimes have optional over arm duct attachments that take the chips from the top of the blade. Small contractor saws will never have that. Looks like they thought this one through. Much better than my 15 year old Dewalt. Great video!
I have a portable with over the table dust extraction. It's a Metabo Secanta. Unusual for sure and out of production. The dust hose limits rip capacity though.
I like the soft start feature and it shouldn't be confused with the power of the saw. Unfortunately, the price for this jobsite saw won't win over too many prospective customers. Would like to see Metabo HPT consider a smaller less expensive version, the size of the Milwaukee unit, that runs off of its 18v battery.
That's a well thought out saw, I like all the tool-less attachments. and the size is great too, just because something is cordless doesn't mean it needs to be small. Maybe some inspiration for DEWALT to release a large dual Flexvolt Battery model :)
i have seen several reviewer talk about it in terms of using it to do small/thin work close to the blade. I thing it has two purposes. One as described for thin work but with the blade guard on. Two, in combination with miter guide to let you set your fence to govern the piece length but by setting this extra guide so the end farthest away from the user is in from of the blade, it prohibits the possibility of a blade bind when using the miter T
Just bought. Better be good. hard transitioning from my Powermatic 2000 cab saw. Need a portable. $1100 with battery, cord, stand. That's pretty high! I hope it's awesome.
The plastic fitting for the fence has been designed so you can butt the material against when cutting to length using the sliding fence. so when the cut is complete it does not kick back. on larger dimension saws you release the fence and slide it back when cutting to length.
The little plastic fence attachment thing (I believe) is a sacrificial fence that you can use when you have the rare need to rip right up against the blade so that you do not mangle the machined flat fence
Check inside your vacuum, I think you will see that the DC works pretty good. Even on my Industrial SawStop hooked up to a 6" DC pipe with a 5 Hp blower and cyclone I get sawdust off the top of the blade when cutting. Looks like a winner! Cheers from Tokyo!
I can see where certain instances that would be handy, finish carpentry inside of pre built houses where a little honda generator is just not feasible etc,.….but for a exterior job site tool, doing full duty work its hard to beat a little honda generator and full power tools. or you need to deal with large light/thinner sheet goods it might make it until lunch on a battery...….its size to power/run time ratio seems to make it a specialty tool...…..if it fits a persons needs then it looks great,...as already mentioned, the dual power is a excellent feature so you are never in a power bind. I did some specialty work for a while doing vanishing screens where I needed a full sized miter saw and table saw, but worked mainly from the truck location as to contain the mess,....I just did a inverter and 2 large batteries making the full size corded equipment battery power. Due to the light usage scenario it worked great, but for framing houses it would have never worked,.....the best useful tool is the one that fits your usage scenario.....time will tell if that one fits a large enough usage scenario. Its a shame they did not squeeze that extra 1/8th for 4X material, makes me think they need a carpenter consultant, because that should have been figured out in about the time of your video in the engineering stage and it would have had they had a carpenter in the development stage.
Great saw. Awesome accuracy out of the box. The best quality / price ratio. Light, big table, best you can buy for this money. Original included blade sucks, it’s choking the motor. The miter gauge is a bit loose in the t-track and inaccurate within 1mm/1 degree. Overall 9/10 👏👏👏
I think they should have put two battery ports and a separate 120v male plug connection. So any power cord could plug into the saw. Keep the transformer in the saw. Added bonus of charging your batteries at the same time. But they probably didn't want to add the needed space and the extra pound or two.
I have seen this same saw at Lowe's with the miter saw as well I really like the concept and if I was not so heavily invested in ridgid I would be getting in to metabo hpt
FYI: when you cut 28 1/32 inch (in lieu of 28), I did not see where you actually zeroed the scale when you set the saw up. During shipping, things get bumped around and Metabo has set screws on the scale to allow you to zero it before you begin your cuts
Don’t let OSHA know you don’t like the guards. As an owner of the company, be careful.. CYA I don’t like the guards either.. however very cool saw, I like the versatility and the options.

I like most of all they made it with 35" rip capacity, so many only do 25 or 26" which still makes it hard to rip a piece of plywood at say 28" without an entire table surround or a minimum of 2 people. I don't care for the having to remove the fence and flipping stuff around to put it on top of the table for smaller rips though, at all. By any chance did they make the electric adaptor 110-220v. Odd question I know, but what size is the box?
Kyle. I have to give this saw a 2 on a rating. I know you did this years ago but I recently had to desperately by a saw and remember that I live in Hawaii so off to Lowes and bought this. Hey man so im trying to replace my old table saw and i kind of wanna get the 36v metabo one so after 2 years of using it would you recommend it would you buy it again? Thanks in advanced man i like your videos keep them coming
Hey Kyle, I think that the black plastic over the fence jig you could use to make shims with, and the table surface you could try using silver glide or a paste wax to make it easier to push the material through, just a thought, have a good one
Looks a lot better than DeWalt or Milwaukee, but 7 months later and it is still not available. I was about to buy the DeWalt when I found this but I can't buy it anywhere!
Not sure if I missed it in the video but this vs Milwaukee cordless as from a quality/feature/performance standpoint. I know the blade/cord differences
Hey Kyle. I haven't noticed which table saw you have been using in recent videos. Have you been using this saw much on jobs? If so, how's it holding up?
@@JimTom. compared to our Dewalt and Milwaukee cordless it's more powerful through larger stock With the AC adapter it really powers through The 4.0/8.0 with the 7100 cells definitely has more oomph
@@JimTom. never really had trouble with large stock-is your wood wet, compared to a 240V table saw all of these jobsite saws are going to be less powerful so u need to go slower with large stock but sheet goods u can push right through This is the best cordless table saw on mkt in my opinion and being able to use the AC adapter really is great for when U have power available and makes this saw a long long term option for yrs to come
To be honest I didn't think that saw had a chance in hell when you pulled out that pressure treated 4x4. My corded DeWalt with a Diablo thin kerf blade has trouble with that.
@dcl97 I didn't think it had a chance on that treated 4x4 either. But I'm sure that battery isn't going to last too long if you have to do a lot of those types of cuts. Good thing they have the 120AC Adapter, and IMO it was a bad design choice to not allow it to fit larger capacity batteries! Maybe they just want to make more money by selling you heaps of the 8AH batteries. There is a higher profit margin for them on the smaller capacity batteries. I think that the smaller 8.25" cordless saws make a lot more sense as a lightweight, portable jobsite saw. Obviously it is nice to have that larger table/work surface and capacity though. I'm on the fence. I currently use the 10" DeWalt DWE-7491RS jobsite table saw and a Honda EU2000is or EU3000is generator if 120VAC isn't available on site.

Hey, try working in some Johnson's paste wax into the table top. Then buff it out. The wood will just fly cross the top.

Just got mine yesterday! Can’t wait to use it!
how do you like it one year later?
Thanks for the review, Kyle! We appreciate all of your honest feedback.
👍🏻
Is there a separate stand / cart for this in Canada?
Same stand as.the corded only version
You can adjust the measurement window to fine tune your accuracy.
Thanks for the information Kyle

Kyle your brother is hoping you give him this saw if you don't like it. Can you plug it into the Dewalt AC power supply to see if it will work?
Redundant comment but hoping DeWalt makes a power adapter for their table saw.
G'day Kyle. Good to see you again. Keep it up. From Glenn in Tasmania
Great job with the new look on the intro

Odd question I know, but what size is the box?
I’d say 3’x3’ ish maybe 18” tall
this looks a lot better saw than the metabo ts 254 job site saw I own
that cheap black plastic part that clipped onto the fence was to keep thin material like hpl plastic laminate from getting stuck under the fence.
Kyle.

Looks exactly like my Hitachi table saw.
Metabo bought Hitachi. They are one company now called Metabo HPT (Hitachi Power Tools).
I think that attachment fence is for ripping thin stock. One can't get a push stick or your fingers in when the fence is high.
I am in Australia and I had a Metabo table saw for two years and in that time had it in my possession for about three months. The rest of the time it was at the repair centre where they constantly tried to fix it. Eventually I was refunded after going to our Consumer Affairs. Wouldn't touch Metabo with a six foot pole (Aussie saying) after my experience. My Dewalt table saw is great.
This would be Hikoki down under so your def not talking same brand
Different brand
Any update on the durability of the saw, 4 year later? I owned 2 Hitachi job site saws, and had issues with both. First one the switch went out, replaced the saw under warranty, and the second saw eventually developed terrible arbor wobble.
good friend! I wanted to know if you think this metabo 36v machine is stronger/powerful than the 60v dewalt! thanks
now thats a good saw. We still use a older 10" Delta as a work horse but we lost the fencing to it. Would you be able to dig into a universal Fencing system for yours and show us what is out there? Thank you..... KICK BUTT Videos by the way. I wish I had that much time to actually do those too.....
And you don't need to shrink the batteries LOL just better capacity ...... 18650 are coming a long way from 1200mah to now all the way up to 5000mah.
I bought the hikoki (same saw) . Cuts sheets well but for solid timber its underpowered. They almost get it right again but let down by the most crucial thing. Power
After a year, What are your thoughts regarding Metabo vs Milwaukee table saw? Does one get used more?
Nice saw with all the features needed. The blade size and small amp battery made it look and sound gutless when it was cutting through the timber. Did it feel restrained?
It is gutless, i regret buying it. Im returning mine and getting another Dewalt. I had high hopes
Ordering mine next week!!! Already have the hammer drill, 1/2 in impact wrench, triple hammer and 7 1/2 circular saw from the Multivolt line. Real quality stuff!
Good stuff
We're glad you're happy with everything you've purchased, Benjamin! Thanks for being a fan of Metabo HPT.
How do you like it. Longevity? Has the battery kept up charge? I am in the process of hopefully getting one.
3:12 Fence attachment seems very similar to my dewalt corded saw, but definitely more features
Z
I think that the black piece at 4:13 IS a stop for repetitive cross-cuts using the fence.
Looks like a nice saw. Time will tell about the battery option & the table surface. Happy 4th!
Great saw, I want to go see one in person.
Is there anything outside of marketing keeping every other cordless power tool manufacturer from making a corded adapter? I would be 100x more willing to buy all one brand if they all did this. It would only make me a more loyal consumer. Lol

Beginner here, trying to figure out when to use the blade guard and anti-kickback accessory and when not to bother?
What are the benefits of a 10 in verses an 8 in blade? Seems to me the main one would be ripping a 4x4 but it couldn't do it.
Agree it should have been able to
The fence on our 10 inch corded DeWalt saw is very similar
Nice video,
Any chance of doing a Tuesday Toolsday on angle grinders and the different sorts of disks you can use ?
Good idea

More useful than all the other brands
Not even another portable close to these features
We have two of these saws and wouldn't trade em for anything else
Could the plastic thing be a stop block?
What kind of camera do you use for your RUclips videos? Thanks for all the videos!
I use a canon 80d for site work and Sony a73 on toolsday
only thing i use on a table saw is riving knife and nothing else but a push stick
Cool Tool!
If you listen to when you made your cut you can hear the vacuum making a thumping sound
it's self-cleaning it's dust filter so it maintains peak suction ... Hilti and a few others do that too in their vacuums
Pretty cool eh
Great video!
Are you currently using this saw on the job site and how is it performing until now? Can it run all day on one charge
Hey man so im trying to replace my old table saw and i kind of wanna get the 36v metabo one
so after 2 years of using it would you recommend it would you buy it again?
Thanks in advanced man i like your videos keep them coming
Its very under powered, just keep that in mind. Great for plywood etc, but not ripping
Hey Kyle, I think that the black plastic over the fence jig you could use to make shims with, and the table surface you could try using silver glide or a paste wax to make it easier to push the material through, just a thought, have a good one
I've ordered two of these both of them turned up damaged with bits broken off. Is there an issue with build quality and durability on these?
Looks a lot better than DeWalt or Milwaukee, but 7 months later and it is still not available. I was about to buy the DeWalt when I found this but I can't buy it anywhere!
Not sure if I missed it in the video but this vs Milwaukee cordless as from a quality/feature/performance standpoint. I know the blade/cord differences
im a tinner that would be good fabbing up composite panels
Just buy the dewalt and be done with it,the batteries are everywhere. And who has a metabo??
me
You don’t have to take the fence off to flip the guid over
Great review. U still recommend saw
In normal applications, what setting do you keep the riving knife? (If i wasnt using antikick back stuff)?
Hey Kyle. I haven't noticed which table saw you have been using in recent videos. Have you been using this saw much on jobs? If so, how's it holding up?
Sienpre aapoyando your channel.,., rr buildin is the maximum I admire you a lot cael
its 4ah at 36v, 8ah at 18v
Now that you've had it for awhile.....how do you like it? Do you still like and recommend it?
Great saw
We have two of them
@@baseballdude8491 do you find it underpowered? i stalled my brandnew one out ripping down a 2x4
@@JimTom. compared to our Dewalt and Milwaukee cordless it's more powerful through larger stock
With the AC adapter it really powers through
The 4.0/8.0 with the 7100 cells definitely has more oomph
@@baseballdude8491 i stalled it out with the ac adapter cutting a 2x4, it bogs down straight away. I havent tried it with the big batteries yet though
@@JimTom. never really had trouble with large stock-is your wood wet, compared to a 240V table saw all of these jobsite saws are going to be less powerful so u need to go slower with large stock but sheet goods u can push right through
This is the best cordless table saw on mkt in my opinion and being able to use the AC adapter really is great for when U have power available and makes this saw a long long term option for yrs to come
Any updates on this saw?
How many cuts can you get on that battery?
Haven’t had enough time to say yet
Wow..I thought you had a green Dewalt 7491 at first. There has to be a common manufacturer involved.
Is this table saw available in the U.K. I have looked and I can't see them anywhere!!!
lts a Hitachi , Metabo took over Hitachi recently, hope this helps!
Just a note, hope you're using sunblock. Just look up moh surgery pics off google. That should give anyone impression. Keep the videos coming.
Is it 120v when corded or does it remain 40v
Not sure exactly but there is no difference or noticeable change is power
To be honest I didn't think that saw had a chance in hell when you pulled out that pressure treated 4x4. My corded DeWalt with a Diablo thin kerf blade has trouble with that.
@dcl97
I didn't think it had a chance on that treated 4x4 either.
Muito boas suas informações,obrigado!!!
Isn’t there a tablesaw that you can use a battery and connect to power if needed?
This one
