Thats incredible because, a good "WTF" is truly a good punctuation in a movie, when done correctly its always funny. So it being real, makes it all the better. Ive been watching this movie since it came out and that is a new fact to me....
'Are there only 2 cops in this city?' Well, while they were at the bar, there was a call of an officer down that they turned off. Probably everyone went to that call.
Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg starting writing this movie when they were teenagers. By the time they were able to make it, they were too old to play the leads, so Rogan made himself the cop. Goldberg is strictly behind the camera. Jonah Hill wanted the role, and Rogan thought he was too old. Then he read for it (on the set of Knocked Up) and mailed it.
@@DeusSalis oh I know. I thought the show he had on Showtime "Kidding", was a little odd. I hope this cultural depression of anti-comedy doesn't last forever. Radicals ruin everything.
The ending at first felt wholesome. .but when i watched the entire thing again it ,it felt sad like, they're both going different ways , seperated from each other....
Very relatable for me as well. I completed High School back in 2013, but all my friends I can count on one hand how many times I’ve seen them since then. Hopefully our reunion in a couple years will be good.
It is a bittersweet ending but that’s what is so nice. It isn’t a perfect ending and that’s what makes it realistic. There was a video essay I watched a while ago on why Superbad is the best comedy and it points out so many of these things. It’s sad cause they are finally growing up and even though they will see each other again, they won’t see each other offer so it’s like a goodbye to being childhood bestfriend and figure out their new relationship.
I love the scene where Seth is daydreaming about how to steal liquor from the supermarket that Fogel works at. And you all should absolutely watch Easy A.
I think the ending shows that you don't have to be with your best friend 24/7, it's OK to spend time with someone you're interested in too. If you don't then you won't gain independence or learn to be a grown up. They also finally started to spend time with the girls in the correct way, Seth realized that he was going too fast in his life by wanting to get hammered and sleep with a girl at such a young age
In the same way that 80’s kids grew up on John Hughs movies like Breakfast Club I grew up on Judd Apatow films and Superbad PERFECTLY portrayed what life as a teenager in the 00’s was like.
We can forget about American Pie. Those movies were just an excuse to be raunchy for its own sake. Superbad was actually realistic when it needed to be and crazy when it needed to be with the cops. It’s all about the writing.
So... the majority of this movie is based on real events that happened to Seth Rogan and the other main creator throughout there highschool years. This includes the period blood that goes on Jonah Hills leg. In Seth Rogans words "That is a real story, I wasn't the guy dancing, I was one of the guys on the couch"
The funny thing is Jonah really hated the guy playing mclovin in real life and didn't want to work with him but Seth and judd said that was a good thing since their characters supposed to hate each other anyways
For the guy playing Vogel (Christofer Mintz Please) it was the first role, he was 17 at that time. He absolutely nailed that role. Actually, everybody did. Amazing writing, jokes, execution.
Michael Cera and Jonah Hill play off each other so well and so naturally like they've known each other for years. They are like my generations Abbot & Costello or Odd Couple. Great casting and a great comedy.
Fun fact: I'm a translator, this movie was censored here, due to voice actors cursing so much for mere nothing. One version of dubbing (uncut) was the best work I've ever seen in a movie. Still have it in physical media f**k this! The PG-13 version was the worst work I've seen on translation and voice-overs.
The ending means they lost each other as best friends because they had all they were chasing and didn’t need each other anymore. They got what they wanted all along but they lost what they already had
I have no idea of the quality of the Goldslick, but it looks like the sort of lamp that was sold in all the stores back in the late 90s. Also, that ending where they confess their love is so good. Especially ending on the "boop boop boop".
The 00s and early 10s, had so many of these super raunchy comedies. They made my 20s so great. Always something to laugh about, and nothing was off limits. Then, the PC train hit. Last year mainly, when some idiot... you know the story. This movie is a classic, along with the many others that we all know. Long live no holds barred comedy
Fine comedy that isnt afraid to make a good joke at the expense of something else. I love this is the end, top 3 of the 2010s with hot tub time machine being the best comedy.
In the commentary the actor for McLovin, his mom was there because he was actually under 18 during the making of the movie. You should go take a look at that there’s more info on that.
This movie is indeed the best. I remember first seeing this in theaters when it first came out and I was talking about the movie and recreating scenes with my friend at school. Good times.
Yeah Easy A is a cute movie and what made me love Emma Stone. But it is more of a female high school comedy than a male focused comedy BUT IT ISNT typical chick flick comedy movie

The best thing about Easy A is Aly Mickaelka
Can you watch "Detroit rock city" 1999
Top Secret, Crazy Stupid Love and Superbad are my personal top 3 all time favorite comedies...

If not then it's you.
Because Steve Fogel is a real dude who Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg went to West Point Grey High with.
