  • Welcome to my review of the Asetek Sim Sports Invicta Wheelbase. The Invicta is Asetek's flagship model, boasting a staggering 27Nm of torque. At $1299.99 (USD), it is a high-end option in the sim racing market. I compared it directly to Simucube’s Ultimate and Pro models to provide an analysis of its performance, features, and overall value.

    Great review as always. When I snagged my Invicta setup Asetek was still quite new. Here a year later, I’m quite happy with my choice.

    Hi, do you have any idea why the max torc for iracing is 15Nm in the asetek doc? Allways understood to use max in device settings and dial down in game?

    Ill watch! But the hype has died down a bit over the last few months oeople are finslly being realistic as no base is perfect. But me myself i do not like asetek and the way there filters work as much as the simucube. Also aseteks slew rate is not higheras then the the ultimate. But asetek is very good i do not like how they do inirtia. I dont like the feeling as much in high speed corners or low speed. Im not worried about vibrations i dont ever need more detail as it starts feeling fake. I want to feel curbs grass and road textures but I care way more about loading and unloading in corners and how the edge of grip feels. I do not like relying on inirtia or weight to do so. It should be pure forces exaplaining it not dead weight. Which is why I like simucube and simagic so much.
    As reviewers comparing the dd+ and asetek say they feel similiar its because of how they use the forces and inirtia. Just not my favorite feel. All of these wheelbases have plenty of details we dont need anymore. That part is getting out of hand and a bit ridiculous meanwhiel everyone on reddit is wanting vibrations turned down on bases as it feels unatural. Normal ones are fine but we dont need more details.

      @@simracingden tbh I did very shortyl about 4 or 5 years ago but I stopped pretty quickly. I actually took a break from sim racing due to some issues i had with my back and hips. But now im good enough to do it again and i wont ever stop lol. I actually just got the ultimate not long ago and i have to admit simagic hss made some massive leaps foward. Plus it has my preference with that looser more flowy feel. Where its just purely ffb making it move no filters and you can turn stuff of and actually not have extra inirtia unlike other brands who always have it even if off. Been surprised.
      But yeah maybe ill start doing reviews

      The invicta's slew rate is rated higher than the pro and equal to the ultimate. Am I missing something?

    • @reviewforthetube6485
      @reviewforthetube6485 20 дней назад +1

      Both the ultimate and the invicta are rated at 9.5. Just like the pro is the same as the 18nm asetek. We'll slightly higher at a full 7nm/ms on the pro. Regardless won't actually feel the difference. Once above 4nm/ms it's very hard to feel any differences due to the amount of time the signal takes to get theough the fingers to the brain and respond to that same difference as feeling more nm faster it won't actually be really felt. It's somewhat of a marketing tool but yes slew rate matters up to a point.

      SImucube said on their forums there will be no SC3 for now, they improve soft and firmware.

    They should have colabed with PlayStation and Xbox and that would be the kicker for monopoly in the market

  • @HeartbrokenHeartshooter

    Having literally just made the decision two nights ago, I think simucube takes it. I say this because simucube does the most important part right. The FFB.
    People will talk about quick releases (you can change the simucube to the same one moza uses and make it wireless for your wired wheels), people will talk about USB port and emergency stop switches. People will talk about the quality of the wheels. All that matters is how it feels and if it works. And simucube is still king.
    That excludes software (simucube wins), build quality (simucube wins), manufacture support (simucube wins).
    Now that’s not to say the aseteks are bad wheelbases. I’ll leave that to the people on Reddit. But if you can afford to go with simucube, I can’t think of a reason you wouldn’t.

    • @simracingden
      @simracingden  21 день назад +1

      Thank you for your input! I believe both options are excellent, so you really can't go wrong either way. Personally, I am sticking with the Simucube 2 Ultimate as my primary wheelbase on my main rig. I prefer it still over the Invicta, the True Drive software and available profiles, plus all my wheels are already equipped with Simucube QR kits. Of course, cost wasn't a factor for me since both wheelbases were provided to me for free. But the Invicta is staying on my 2nd rig until I review another wheelbase, and I will be using it with my VR setup when I want a change.

      I have both wheelbase and my preference goes to Asetek Invicta for some reasons but mainly for the FFB. Invicta has faster and better response and details specially on the mid of corners were I always find SC2 Pro misses.

    Simagic product are just more rounded and cheaper also which is a win.
