Very relatable. I think when you get frustrated and quit something, but eventually return to it that's quite telling that it's too important for one to give up on too easily. Maybe it means that the number of attempts doesn't even matter. I've started and scrapped countless game projects, never getting far, but for some reason I keep coming back.

      @44Hd22 9 месяцев назад +2

Maybe you need a unique starting idea. Maybe look at flow free and then add multiverse time travel or something. Make a pipe connecting game or something with cool gravity mechanics. That could be very successful. Or just something that plays with physics and gravity. A physics manipulation puzzle shooter platformer seems like it would do well.
Edit: Both of these ideas would work well with quantum mechanics.

Don't you think that expecting high-quality videos from a RUclipsr every time will drain them from their creative faster? Resulting in a crash and burn. Another artist that gives up. I know we want more content cuz I do too. I like this creator. But instead, let's just wait for what they make without demanding anything.
As an artist, I know it's encouraging when people like your art and want more. But is also discouraging when people demand the same thing because it limits creativity.
All I ask is next time we leave a comment, let's think about the literal words we use. The last thing I want is for another artist to burn out.
Thank you for reading my tedtalk. Have a nice day.

For anyone who came from her last video and wants to be a creator now (like me), this video is great. Have fun and explore, but more importantly, don't let the numbers discourage you. Sometimes your content will blow up and a lot of times it can just flop (2:48). Give yourself the freedom to try out new things and improve in the parts that you want. Enjoying the process is more important than the short term results.
It's something I learned a few days ago so it's kinda funny how this was the video topic for the week.

I second this. I used to worry a lot with the quality of my videos, and the amount of views I will get. I eventually learned to be content with the way they turn out, because not everything is perfect, and it's okay to make mistakes 😌

I've tried to learn drawing a fair few times, but could just never get into it. Last time I even bought myself a somewhat expensive art tablet, hoping I could stay motivated with the sunk cost fallacy, but that only taught me I just really don't like drawing. I still wish I was good at it, would be cool to make my own profile pictures and sprites/textures for the small games I make, but it's just really not for me. Big respect to anyone who's managed to stay patient and built some skill, your stuff's great.

@@eglaiosdeminecraft9259 I think my problem is I see it more as a useful skill than as a way to express myself artistically. Never liked the process of drawing, only having an end product and when you can't be patient because you don't enjoy the drawing process, the end product won't be much good and you just end up with a wholly unenjoyable experience.

Now in University (literature :P) and a friend asked my to become an editor for a student literary journal. I also have some projects on the side.

As an artist, I'm kind of in the same situation as you were. I love drawing art, I find it fun. But being on my last year of high school, and working; I don't get as much time as I'd like to draw. Even when I do draw, I don't think its very good. And the thing is, I'm thinking about doing art as a career (Mainly video game art), but I don't know how to go about doing that. College is expensive, and I don't know where to start. Your video is very encouraging though. I always thought to be a good artist I had to draw characters well, but after this I realized I should focus on improving what I like doing. Instead of drawing people, I'll focus on drawing buildings and angles. I really like drawing stuff to do with perspectives, inanimate objects and anything with squares. I find them easy and really fun to shade and see how that shading fits together. Anyways I know this is a really long comment, but thanks for inspiring me to draw what I love. Maybe I'll get lucky in the future and find opportunities to work on projects with other people. Edit (Not sure why half my comment disappeared. I fixed it now.)

Personally, I think the white grape and black cherry flavors are much better than the lemon lime and peach, so maybe I will drink half of both of those flavors and try them together next time. My only concern is that mixing them might make them not as good as they are on their own, but they only cost a dollar a piece, so worst case scenario I lose 1 dollar (because I drank 50 cents worth from two bottles)

Another great video. It was very interesting to hear to your art journey and what challenges you faced. It sure can feel overwhelming when you make something unique and it doesn't get as much attention as something you usually do. While I am not an artist, I think many could relate to feeling like the thing they made must suck if it didn't get much traction as the other thing. I remember one artist that focused on cosy drawings but decide to change the vibe to something more adult oriented for a little while also experimenting with a new artstyle and when it didn't get as much traction, they came to the conclusion that it must be artstyle issue and therefore they won't post drawings using that specific artstyle. It's pretty easy to catch yourself into a mindset that if something underperforms, therefore it must be bad, so glad you tackled on that issue and how it affected your journey.
I also send my thanks for continuing the journal! It's great to continue to see your process. You also made some great points in terms of your thoughts that were aftermath of the first video. In the end, even if we might not always succeed or be heard, we should try to seek comfort and happiness as much as it is possible for us to do.
Don't worry also about your journal pages being too long for anyone to read - 5 pages of some good and well put thoughts are always something wonderful to read. Take care and come back to good health quick!

this and the previous video were both really endearing and encouraging at the same time, I feel like my whole life I've been a more passive consumer rather than creative, and I feel like I've been holding myself back a lot of opportunities just for fear of commitement or rejection, but trying to see what I can start from and gradually put myself through harder and harder challenges has been very engaging.
for example I've always loved listening to music and watching anime, so I've been learning how to edit with capcut to make some Amv's and I'm currently at 5 but I feel like I've already learnt a lot and really enjoyed the process, and right now as I've been inspired by tons of cool vids I've been working for a while now on a animated music video for a song, not nowing how to draw or how to animate anything, but I've begun with having a rough storyboard (almost finished as of writing this) and honestly It's exhilarating for me how even though I haven't really a clue for how to do most of the things I want, I actually have the tools thanks to internet to learn a ton of stuff if I'm willing, and even then I feel like I'm finally allowing myself to do something for the heck of it, just to have fun.
I feel like I'm at stage where I'm afraid of being too focused on what others might think in the end, and how I might view myself if a project that I put a ton of hours into maybe or most probably wont do well, but I think I can only learn how to handle those things by actually experiencing them!

This was very relatable, but knowing that others feel this way too, motivated me to keep drawing. Also, I still cant believe that your first 2 videos are such good quality!

super relatable video as someone whos gone thru the emotional rollercoaster of trying to share art on social media, and then feeling locked into one type of specific content and then only making art for the numbers game and not even enjoying it anymore. i havent created anything in a long time after getting burnt out from that, but your vids have been super inspiring for me and im really thinking I might try again with a healthier mindset and just making what i find fun. thank you for lighting that spark in me again. i look forward to your future creations :]

Avoiding the thing that actively demotivates you (rendering in Riifushi's case) is an interesting concept. I always thought that challenges like that should always be tackled head-on. But thinking about it now, I probably would've practice more at music (and other things) if I had taken more detours. In recent years, I've definitely learned to have a "good enough" mentality. I'm hoping more artists find your advice (or advice like it) so they don't get too discouraged.

Its funny, for me, its line art after sketching. Like my line art sucks, I got really bad ''line quality''
but I love rendering. Playing with the mood of a piece with lighting and colors is super satisfying.
I really like your comfy style. You are doing great, and you actually inspired me to come back to art and maybe youtube. All the things I tried lately have not work, so if am going to be poor at least I'm gonna do fun things!

I just saw your first video and then decided to watch this one. Your content so far is really well made and enjoyable. I often listen to videos while I do things and your content has been great to listen to so far. You also have a nice, relaxing voice (which matches well with your lovely art).
I've been considering starting to draw and/or creating content so these two videos happen to match my interests, but if you keep up the quality I think I could listen to a video about just about anything. You mentioned something about wanting to make something every week this year. Don't be afraid to take breaks when you need them or to take a little bit longer if something needs some extra work. Good luck!
