I jam along with quite a few jam tracks. Many with jazz chords I struggle to play (70yr old hands). Although I can usually find some tasty lead runs. Putting up the fretboard with 1st - 2nd positions etc is inspired. And the chord names rather than ii -Vi-V etc is also a plus. The groove is also 1st class.
I do appreciate that chord progressions can get very involved for example C6add9 = G13= F6add9=etc and is a good work out, however this for me as an intermediate laptop on lap sofa player is thoroughly engaging.

Like fte way you laid out positions one Ata time still don't understand when you play the notes of the pentatonic or the chords do you play each note of the pentatonic as a slo while the backing tracks playing and chords at the chorus???

the idea is to practice the notes of the scale so that it helps memorize each scale. however, you can practice arpeggios, chords, and anything else over the backing track.
