The pentatonic scale is probably the most famous guitar scale. In this guitar lesson, I'm going to show you how to connect all five pentatonic scale positions with one simple pathway. This will allow you to move freely between each of the five positions while soloing and improvising. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below. Thanks for watching!

Just want to take a moment to acknowledge how great of a teacher you are.
Thank you so much ☺
Lightbulb moment, I've been noodling around with this horizontal scale for a while now and always jump off at position 5. I hadn't until this video realized (I don't know why) that this maps to all 5 positions, so obvious! Clouds clear and the sun shines through.💡
It's all about making those connections! Thanks so much for watching ☺🙏
I was taught this by my first guitar teacher over 20 years ago.
You presented this very well.
Plus you explained it in detail, making this easy to grasp.
Thank you.
Nice! Thanks for watching :)
Epic! 🎸OMG😮💕Thank you Andrew . You’re an excellent teacher, clear and Concise! After all these years, the Penny finally dropped for me 🙏
That's awesome! Glad I could help :)
Yo!!!! Epic video, bro. I subbed. Appreciate you getting to it and not throwing a bunch of other stuff(it can be distracting). Typically when I hear someone complain it typically info overload. Well presented. Tks, will def be sharing
Really appreciate that. Thank you so much!
brotherr i know you know this cause people tell you all the time but your content is truly so helpful and engaging and genuinely fun to watch. it’s super inspiring both as a guitar player and as a person so thank you!!!

You explained it very well.....not in some advanced musical language. I will check out your other videos.....thanks!
I'm so glad it was helpful ☺
@@andrewclarkeguitar you can do that with any key....just start on the root note if the low E string and do the same formula?
Wow, absolutely the best description I’ve ever ever seen. Superb job and something that’s literally going to help thousands of people on their guitar journey. Thank you!
You're a good teacher sir!!!...watching all of your videos...thanks a lot..

Great lesson. I’ve struggled to connect the 5 positions. This is very helpful.
Awesome. Glad it was helpful!
Well done. So detailed but easy to understand. Also a very fun practice. Thanks
This is the basis for the diagonal pentatonic concept - very well and clearly explained Andrew. BTW got your ear training course - it's very good. It provides a solid foundation for this essential skill needed by all guitarists/musicians. Highly recommend.
I really appreciate that. Thank you so much 🙌

You're welcome!
Excellent lesson.
Thanks! 😃
Excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
This is absolutely fantastic. Beginners today have access to so much great content to make the journey easier. Really handy tip here. What would have made it even better would be if you had showed an example on how to use this pathway for a different key other Am/C. Meaning for example if your position or scale 1 was instead under B instead of under A. So position 1 at B minor. You didn't have to show the whole thing again. Just show how to use it or adapt it to a different key.
This helps alot thank you
No problem!
Hes a genuis
Way to produce a video
Thanks 😄
Can these pentatonic scale positions be adjusted to play in all keys?
Yes! You just shift the shapes up or down the fretboard. Nothing about the shapes change. :)
