Those last moments with maul are so painful. In my opinion, Maul was no longer a Sith, he was simply a force user tortured by the dark side. So those last minutes when he says "let me die! You're all going to burn!" He would rather die than live under the control Palpatine. He was trying to save Ashoka from Order 66. He knew it was coming, and it terrified him.
Maul is one of my favorite characters to study. Great episode!
For me he is one of the most strongest characters in the show, i am not meaning how strong he is power based but i mean character wise
@Da Ol because it wasn't his original intent. Originally he wanted her as an apprentice, in the panic of being caught he only wanted survival.
She wouldnt have believed him anyways with as close as she is to the clones.

She changed her mind the second he said Anakin was going to the dark side. She wasnt going to believe Order 66 either if he told her. She had no reason to suspect the clones were going to turn.
Got to say Ray Park did a fantastic job for the mo cap for Maul. His moveset was needed and he didn't disappoint

Maul seriously underestimates Padawans gaining a victory though impossible odds. Obi-Wan, Kanan, and now Ahsoka.
Actually, Kanan had already been knighted (by the Force itself, no less) by the time he first fought Maul.
He could kill her two times during their final fight, he choose not to. It wasn't overconfidence, is mercy. Since he realized who she was he can't now show mercy to her, he is seeing hymself in her, all the battle begging to joing him and stop the battle.
I mean, she had the skillset of a Knight at this point, considering she was offered a promotion before she left the Order.
i would have preffered if maul had won and shown her mercy imo maul here was to strong for ashoka

Mark Sonneveld Na it is not as if anakin and obi wan had thrown themselves against maul and an army of mandalorians, they have 501 and 212 as support and also anakin is a better strategist than maul, so not even that way maul would have had a chance
Mark Sonneveld I agree with El here, Anakin and Obi-Wan would have demolished the mandos in the sewers, and then Anakin alone would have kicked Maul’s ass.
It’s actually terrifying just how true Maul is with his premonitions, and his intentions are pure wanting to ruin Sidious’s plans by destroying the Key to his plans success, his Prized pupil he’s groomed for all this time. And had Ahsoka not asked of Mauls intentions with Anakin, perhaps their could have been hope for the galaxy, and that the order to survive.
But sadly Ahsoka did not trust in Mauls vision because she does not believe Anakin would betray everything the Jedi stood for, and because of that she provoked Maul into a Duel. And I love how even the fight is between the two, and despite the fact Ahsoka is disarmed a few times she still manages to pull through and win the fight, not necessarily the duel, but she did win the aftermath.
Also funny how The Phantom Menace was centered around Palpatine, and The Phantom apprentice is centered around Anakin Skywalker, the key to everything.
I say this was easily the best duel we've had. The motion capture was perfect, the choreography was amazing, and even though we know what happens to both of then I was scared for each of them the entire time.
This episode was the best of the entire series and the duel was one of the best of the entire saga! Aye I’m trying to learn how to use RUclips myself. Btw how do you get Disney plus content to display on RUclips, cos it’s protected?

Did u notice the darth sidious scream at the start of the duel ? This probably means this duel was happening at the same time as the windu sidious duel
It cannot be possible coz we have not had the escene of Windu saying "I Sense a plot to destroy the Jedi"
The fight between Sidious and Windu and the others Jedi Masters is after that

Ahsoka deciding to defend Anakin and say he would never join Sidious happens at the exact moment that Anakin decides to join Sidious and stop Mace. This makes their meeting in Rebels so much more excruciating.
I believe it is an ability called force scream and it's too put off and intimidate an event (only used by powerful force users ((not Jedi)). ). Cool?😁
I have to say Maul was wrong. We all know that Jar Jar was the key to everything. XD

The expanded universe of Star Wars really shows how much of a tragedy order 66 was
Maul foresaw everything Sidious' rise to power, Order 66, Dooku just being a pawn, Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader, the fall of both the Jedi & the Republic. Ahsoka & Maul's interactions was the best part of this episode and everything that led Maul & Ahsoka to this moment. Obi-Wan appearing was a surprise but important. We are ill-prepared for what comes next despite knowing the outcome. Dreydan Vos cameo for Crimson Dawn & the Shadow Collective. Maul's offer to Ahsoka took me by surprise. The fact Maul was right is frightening.
Order 66 will most certain be in episode 11 of the season while 12 will probably the fallout of it and set up how Ahsoka & Rex are in Rebels. Maul will most likely escape go into hiding & continue running Crimson Dawn from the Shadows until we see him again in Rebels. I wonder if there will be a cut to Obi-wan & Anakins Duel on Mustafar in the Clone Wars finale just as a bit of fan service.

The episode was intense. I could feel the tension and the end of the actual world coming. I wanted to see battle droids for a last time :(
I loved the parallel of obi-wans conversation with Ahsoka and the exact same conversation with Anikin about spying on Palpatine. Both Anikin and Ahsoka say almost the exact same things. I was freaking out at that moment. And the fight was beautiful. So Glad they got Ray Park back for the Mo-cap of Maul. Looked amazing!
10:23 it was confirmed that Ray Park came in and did the motion capture for Maul, that’s why it looks so good!!
The best part i think is the beigining of the Fight of Maul and ashoka the pose of maul was wow really amaizing , i cant wait to next episode 🥴. I send grettings From Mexico. I love your videos 💜

He's not terrified over that. Order 66 means nothing to him, other than to spite Sidious. He's terrified that he isn't going to the Jedi, he's going to Palpatine.
I have to say, this was the BEST clone wars episode to date! Constantly had that "on the edge of your seat" element, waiting to see what other E3 references get dropped and the anticipation of Order 66. I am super eager for the next episode and see how Order 66 goes down for Ahsoka and Rex having his chip removed.
This episode was kind of stressful bing there is a ticking time clock called order 66. I held my breath any time I saw Ashoka near the clones while she was fighting Maul.

That fight scene actually looks like two people trying to kill each other. I love it!
apparently at the end of this episode is the exact same moment that anakin/palpatine killed windu so ahsoka looking up is meant to be sensing him

Both Maul and Ashoka are Gray. So from that standpoint, It makes total sense for them to take down Sidious together. Remember in Rebels Maul wants to destroy the Sith.

I just realized, we now know EXACTLY how Ahsoka would duel in live action!
I was hoping for ahsoka to call the jedi council in part of this and saying that maul had agreed to work with the jedi, and put obi wan and his feud on hold for the time being
I'm gonna say 99.9% certain the pilot of Maul's rescue ship was Qi'ra, earning her chops in Crimson Dawn's ranks.
I love Maul in this. He's become such an amazing anti-villian, and he's mastered his monologuing form. But after that amazing fight, we can see how scared he is of what it to come. Fear, pain, suffering- that all he has left. But AMAZING fight and I'm so glad they got Ray Parks for it, he hasn't lost a step as a martial artist. When in doubt, go back to the beginning. And Witwer's voice acting was superb!
As for the people whining that it's too small and too quiet, they're just trying to watch over your shoulder. Moochers. Scum. They should buy a month access, and binge it, then cancel. It's less than a couple of six packs.

BEST EPISODE EVER!! I thought Maul would have beaten Ahsoka though. Which I guess he did but then got too cocky again like he did with Kenobi, (obviously we know neither of them die) but I guess this means he probably escapes when order 66 happens.

I dont really get why Maul was fighting Ahsoka. She wanted to capture him okay, but why didnt he just flee when he realised she wouldnt join him? That epic battle between him and her feels kinda forced.
