@@Ellfman actually a lot of super successful bands aren't friends, i saw an interview with john paul jones from led zeppelin, intimating the same thing... i guess it's like anything that becomes an unintended success, there will be fellow travellers you work with, but don't spend your free time with.
@@EllfmanThe dispute was Oates wanted to sell his stake in the partnership to someone Hall disapproved of. I believe it is common in any business to require the partner's approval. Why should Hall be saddled with someone who will rob him blind?
Hall and Oates! ❤ It's really sad that these two grown men are fighting. Settles your differences and maybe you'll realize what's really important. Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing! 🤨
I was never a fan of their music to be honest. The only song I really dug was She’s Gone. This song not bad it’s just not something I would expect out of them.
I think ‘Along The Red Ledge’ and ‘Beauty On A Backstreet’ are awesome albums - though I don’t know how commercially successful they were. Plus - how did nobody on The Masked Singer not know John Oates was under that costume? I knew it within the first few seconds 🫤 Check out John Powhida’s version of this song! Both that one and H&O’s have a Todd Rundgren & Utopia-ish vibe to me. (?) sigh, I miss 1978 🙂
I don't think I've ever heard this song before and I am a pretty big H & O fan. It's strange seeing Daryl Hall out from behind his keyboards playing guitar though. In reality both Hall and Oates are both playing rhythm guitar most of the song so I'm not convinced they need two guitars as Hall's is more of a prop. Perhaps Hall should've taken a page out of the Karen Carpenter playbook and simply stand on stage and sing without playing an instrument, as Karen did later on by allowing someone else to play drums. I'm not exactly a fan of this song after a first listen though.
Wish I’d seen them perform when they came to Tulsa. Have several of their albums but ones a real stinker & can’t remember which one as it’s not with me, here. “Maneater" and “One on One” are my favorite songs. Great Voices.
I remember this show from the old days. Along The Red Ledge was a favorite of mine.H&O with David Foster was a winning combo. Band is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Amazing they can play so well in the dark !
So sad to see these two not getting along anymore, they were a force to be reckoned with. Great song, one of so many from them!
If you listen to interviews of both of them, they state that they were never best friends, just good business associates.

without a doubt one of the greatest writing/performing duos the US has ever produced. You're welcome world.
Awesome guitar solo at the end by the man with no light on him.
Great camera work lol
Is there any hope that we may see Robert Fripp's Midnight Special performance from October 5th 1979? Thank you for all the great uploads!!!
Love Hall and Oats maybe they will get back together one day ❤❤
Hall and Oates! ❤

I wish they could get back together ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
Can’t say I’ve ever heard this on the radio. This tune is a far cry from Sara Smile or Maneater.

Two things: 1. forgot Hall & Oates actually rocked at one time 2. Is this from Todd Rundgren produced album? Coz it sounds like a Rundgren/Utopia song
According to wikipedia, this album was produced by David Foster. Todd did play on the album, not sure which song(s).
Robert Fripp played on this song
I tell my wife every two weeks … “Honey, did you know I LOVE, Hall and Oates?” He he I do since a kid in the 80’s. Sorry the trouble now.
Great tune. Just some straight ahead rock. Nice.
We used to have music. Now we have (c)rap and Sailor Twift.
This could be a Rundgren song

From ‘Along The Red Ledge’
Daryl has often played guitar. This is from Along the Red Ledge… check it out!
I taped that episode on VH-1 in the 90s. That wouldn't be a bad episode to show for the Members Only.
Oh, you can always "blame it on love." Love creates more problems than politics or religion. Just ask my divorce attorney -- if I had one I suppose.
One thing they couldn’t do was rock
What a fabulous duo! I love their music!!!
Not what most people would think of when they think Hall n Oates but man did this one kick ass!

all time strange song
I hear Fripp but I don't see him.
I hear Runt
@@rosskstar rf played guitar on the album.
This is so Rundgren influenced.
