  • This Lenovo SMB laptop came in with a fault in its display. We struggled to determine whether the issue was a bad LCD panel or something else. In this video, we disassemble the laptop and check for a bad or misaligned cable before replacing the LCD panel.

Great video ! What resolution does the new display have ? My V130-15IKB has a 1366x768 which looks horrible and I am thinking of replacing it with a 1920x1080 panel. How much did your new panel cost ?

This one was 1366x768. I don't know if this laptop would support the 1920x1080. Perhaps that panel might be the one with a 40-pin connector?

I found two panels supposedly compatible with this laptop. One has a 30 Pin EDP 20mm connector and the other has a 40 Pin LVDS 25mm connector. They can't both be correct unless they are referring to the two ends of the interconnecting cable... The former is an IPS display and latter is a TN display.

This one had the 30-pin connector, which I think is most common. You can take yours apart and look near the connector for the '30' (or literally count the pins). For what it's worth, my regular supplier only lists the 30-pin connector for this laptop: www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/IBM-LENOVO-V130-15IKB-81HN00FE-15.6-LAPTOP-SCREEN__278149.asp#/
