Another great vid Paul, I will keep this place in mind as I'm not a million miles away from this area and also do a bit of deer control in my local area so this place could be advantageous to me, thank you again.
Wish there was something like this up Northumberland area the is two surplus stores in Newcastle but one is run by a complete knacka and is way over priced and the other is better but unfortunately it doesn't really cater for wild camping kit has plenty of helmets and badges and uniforms. A real army n navy store like the used to be all over the UK would make a killing up here mind, anyways take care Paul all the best. Liam
Sad news but thatcham army surplus shut last year before lockdown I loved it managed to get some stuff for cheap when t shut but sad sight to see none the less
In Norway it's the military itself that holds surplus sales, no one else is allowed to sell military equipment. In return it's always low prices because.. well, it's the government and they don't need to earn money off of the surplus, they just need to sell as much as possible so they can order new stuff for the next season and have room to store it. That also means no fake stuff.
Hi Paul Thanks for the vid, been looking for a 1941 army ww2 sheepskin lined canvas uniform trench overcoat full length, does anybody have any ideas where to get from.
@@PaulBissekerBushcraft Yes i went to it as visiting my sister in thatchum another one bits the dust and 2 surplus shops in swansea wales are shut i found out today oh well such is life...
Is it true there are laws in England about not wearing the exact type of camo clothes that is currently being worn by your army? I heard that years ago and always believed it but now that I see this video it sounds like bullshit, thanks
all country's differ in laws ie in Jamaica its illegal to wear any form of camo unless you are in the armed forces it is however illegal to pretend you are in the army by wearing current uniform
There is a section in military dress regs stating that you cant wear current issue uniform as a costume such as fancy dress, but that is only for military personnel. Civvies can wear what they like.
It's not illegal, but it is an offence to profit from weating it. E.g, pretending to be serving and/or lying about service... Being a Walter Mitty, is disrespectful and an offence that can carry a fine. As for wearing it, my brother wear various bits of kit for walk, they often mix MTP with DPM so that people can't mistake them.
No its not illegal but if you want to wear MTP however it depends how you wear it. Wearing regimental badges ect or trying to pass your self of as a soldier is a big NO NO you will piss soldiers off by doing that and make your self look like a walter mitty. If you want to wear a combat jacket or something with normal cloths thats cool. However if you buy it form a surplus store and there are regimental badges on it take them of. You have to earn the right in the army to wear that unit badge and trust me you will piss soldiers of if they catch you wearing there regimental badges. I wouldn't be very happy if i caught a civi wearing Royal Anglian badges
Where is RARE vintage staff ? 😁 he is got just modern army surplus and nothing else interesting . All these staff what I can see in this shop , you can buy in any army navy shops ...
Why do you say these shop are on the decline? Aren't the new generation into these stuffs, teens dig these stuffs. These jackets, parkas, vest supposed to sell like crazy.
Yes i think you are right. Online is the new way to shop so the physical stores are going, especially with the rent and rates for small business in the UK.
RD Mountford not really, since if you collect it, enjoy it, and use it then it isn’t junk. You call it junk since you don’t do any of these things. In reality it isn’t since it could help you Incase of war ever happens again in your or any country.
Collectors, reenactors, cadets, film and theatre, outdoor enthusiasts, squaddies wanting non issue stuff or replacement kit... There's plenty of people who want this stuff.

They're alright, but they are producing more Walts.
British Camo is pretty awful compared to the U.S military, or realtree, mossy Oak... Ect...
I agree the best British Camo is DPM, in British woodland you disappear!
Nope
So....If you are not a serving soldier, this stuff is...er....useless junk.

Fashion wear and practical workwear are two markets for surplus kit.
