      No one ever expected me coming out either. I think some of us just get so good at playing that role that society makes us play that we become truly good at playing our role. My mom accepted me as trans in general when I came out less then a year ago even though she is not understanding what so ever and really sorta tries to avoid the topic or referring to me as my new name lol literally haven't heard her call me Jade even one time even though it's pretty close to my old name. I hope things get better in that department but either way I'm just gonna be myself with or without her support.... however trust and believe it would be much better WITH her support rather then without. Your kid probably smiles now because she sees the person she WANTS to see in photos. I look back at old pics of myself and I feel literally like I'm looking at someone else. Its not easy to transition however I can't put into words how good u feel when you finally start to feel comfortable in your own skin and feel like yourself! Best feeling in the world after a lifelong struggle hands down. I'm still early in my transition so I can only say so much but I can relate to the concept of it for sure!

The way I normally put it to people who were super shocked when I came out is "you're shocked because this is new news for you but you gotta realize this isn't new to me." @amentothatt 3 года назад +4

    From a young age, that's definitely true.
    I am a male almost 30 years old. I never really recalled on my childhood memories until I come across this video now.
    I recalled when I was only 3 or 4 years old, my mom would let me have long hair and put me on girl's dress borrowed from my older cousin. Because at that point, she really wanted a girl, bringing me up like a girl could sort of compensate for her not having a girl. I could recall a tiny bit of the feeling, which was quite uncomfortable in those dressings. Growing up, I loved 99.99% of boy's toys but I did recall falling in love with a little barbie doll for once and bought it. Of course I was afraid of letting my peers see my barbie.
    So it is true gender identity is largely based on genes I'd say. But bring up the kid certain way definitely has an impact on the personality.

    My. Either came out as trans about 4months age and has just recently started on hormone treatment. He was a typical boy who loved all the stereotypes a boy should. But now he’s transitioning to female I’m not going to lie it’s weird seeing my brother (23) now suddenly wearing dresses and such but me my fb and my mum all accepted him without a second thought as he’s still the same person on the inside despite what transition is happening to his body
    For Christmas to show him that we truly accepted him and realise what he’s going through (and that’s it’s really happening and it’s not just a “faze” ) I bought him a beautiful sapphire necklace for him to wear when he wants to start on the route of feminine jewellery and my boyfriend bought him a voucher to get his ears pierced 😇 to help him become more feminine in that way should he wish to

    Actually, sexual abuse can and does impact ones gender identity. The majority have actually been sexuallly abused at some point. Some people have actually regretted transitioning and feel confused then detranstion after the damage is done or end up killing themselves or are always trying to find answers outwardly, so get crazy amounts of plastic surgery or whatever. So I think therapy is very important for those who have experience trauma and from there, decide wether or not they still want to take it all the way

    • @monicadaniels784
      @monicadaniels784 2 года назад +1

      Fact check, no, the majority being abused is just plain made up. Don't let prejudice speak in place of facts. Yes therapy is part of the transition process and trans people don't want non trans people to transition. Studies show that transition regret is about 1 % and you can figure that a fair number detransition because of the living hell that some trans people face by family disowning, friends, loss of income from job discrimination, violence. Please please consider for a second the pressure put on some trans folk. Then you will understand the suicide rate. Treatment vastly decreases that suicide rate. I know of what I speak.

    What beautiful and brave people. I'm a CIS man, but the bravery of these people put me to shame. I wish all trans people all over the world can live their dreams and have happy lives. I know with new laws in the USA and Africa it is going to get harder for some to even survive. Indigenous women suffer the most sexual assualts , violence and murder. Then , it's either sex workers or Trans people. I also understand the possible overlap. It rips my heart out of the lack of compassion and empathy in the world. If I believed in a "GOD" , I would pray for all the violence to end and more empathy and loved be shown to these people. I wish all trans people the best lives and happiness possible.

    If “Truly” was truly a non bias channel they would document videos of de-transitioners as well, I feel like their voices need to be heard too, there’s a tremendous amount of negative backlash and judgement from a certain community for those people who do not necessarily want to say anything negative about transitioning but simply want to encourage proper evaluation. But Truly will never go against its own agenda.

    • @monicadaniels784
      @monicadaniels784 2 года назад

      Evaluation is part of the process for anyone seeking surgery. No trans person wants a non trans person to transition. Voices of people who detransition are legitimate, and they should be heard. Part of the reason you see trans folk weird about detransition stories is that those folks who hate trans folk want to use them to delegitimize all trans people. "Ya see, it doesn't work, look at this one." Detransition rates are about 1% and many times that is not because they aren't trans but because people make their life a living hell. Transition isn't easy especially at first. In closing, if anyone has an agenda, look at the vast number of people demeaning and belittling trans folks. Have a nice day.

      @@monicadaniels784 usually narcissists confuse constructive criticism with being “demeaning”, is it ever possible to care about someone and disagree with them? @@kishawnlewis4635 I said in my post, voices of transitioners are valid and should be heard. I watched a video the other day. If you want to find them you can. Why do the people making this video have to tell someone else's story? I hope you are not suggesting that society as a whole offers constructive criticism. Do you watch the news? Trans people face all kinds of crap, from anti trans laws, to families disowning them, to violence. It seems to me, there is a ton of negative stuff out there. Why are you complaining about a few positive stories here. I don't understand, Kishawn. And yes, I would urge you to watch a detransition video. Then judge for yourself, is that community of posters and the video itself trying to paint a blanket picture based on one person that all trans people are misguided and/or mentally defective. Please be fair minded, go watch one. I hope I am wrong. Let me know how it goes, okay? The guy I watched was Walt something or other. Peace
