I've seen quite a few of your videos about making a monster follow a player but this version of doing it is by far the best one so I thank you for uploading it
This tutorial was useful for me in other ways! I used this yesterday to Clamp a Name Tag (Text) to an AI, and I am revisiting for the 1 Use Trigger Volume! Great Tutorial!
As a circuiteer I'd say a lot of this is accurate, but it only works for certain kinds of games, like SCP-096 or Ignited Freddy. Then again, the steps to making a fully custom and complex ai are tedious and make me want to cry so I can see why you didn't go over that. Good tutorial either way

@@theRCLman yeah, the variability of an AI is endless, and even small changes can take an entire day's worth of work and bug fixing to do, so I can't really see anyone making a tutorial covering all of them, but for a basic ai that can be changed into a decent amount of different variants I'd say you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Sooo that’s my bad. 😅 If you’re curious of the log said is “ get position of object failed make sure you’re object has enabled can modify with surcuits. 🐕

Yea the problem is that if your close to him he can detect you around the wall and also when your out of it sight it stands still until somebody near it.
I'm not sure why but I cant get the monster on the top map to move or do anything at all I've rewatched a few times and I cant get it to work. Do you have any idea what could be happing?
This just gave me a ton of ideas you know how you said don’t use walls or furniture? I’m gonna use it bc I want the npc to be able to interacts with the walls bc I’m gonna make an open area with some walls I won’t use outer walls but I’ll use inner and I’ll use furniture
Hey RCLMan! I just copied this into my game and have a few questions that I was wondering if you could answer for me! So first of all, my monster wasn't looking at me when I activated it, so I'm not sure if I missed something in the video or if I was supposed to do something else. Another thing is, I am making a game that is heavily inspired about the rec room poppy playtime - but with a dinosaur. I was wondering if there was a way to animate the monster and give it a jumpscare, but it can't walk through walls. and is similar to this a.i. One last thing: if there is a way for the monster to be animated, is there a way for your monster to be able to change walking animation into a running or crawling animation for going through vents or chasing people. I know its obviously a lot of questions and would be hard to answer, but I was just wondering if you knew a way to fix/help with these things.
all of these are possible very hard to explain. 1st i would say make sure the pivot point is correct if not looking at you but there could be multiple issues depending on what is happening. as for animation. what you need to do is make the above enemy a small cube then get your animation gizmo and attach it to the cube via a clamp or other gizmo, black part wire to cube, animation gizmo (black part) wired to the gold pin on top, once you turn the 0 to 1 the animated object should start following the cube

I saw that someone else commented something similar and you gave the animation with a cube advice to them, so yesterday I animated it and clamped it to the cube. I haven’t tested out the Ai yet with it because I was doing the animation, but today I will try out the ai! I will also make sure that when I do the ai, the pivot point will be positioned properly. Thanks for the help man - you have basically helped me with all of my games where I use ai!

How do you make this work when the monster has multiple parts and/or an animation gizmo. Along with other gizmos like a look-at gizmo or a stage light/point light?
best thing to do is attach the animation to a cube or invisible collision that is following your under monster, then you animate your monster then once you turn animation one it will follow where the animation gizmo goes, kinda hard to explain

so uh i got the ai to work but it wont go places like the living room and it will instead go up stairs and i haven't fgured out why. also it tracks me even whe vison is low. also cone vison detaches the charater from it's model... plz help....
as for animation, animate the onster in place then attach the animation gizmo via a clamp to some other pbject like and invisible collision and instead of having the monster follow people have the invisible colision follow people instead

hmmm i am not sure it there is a chip that executes when a premade ai dis engages, my guess would be to add in a extra if that says if target is out by a certain distance then play animations1 then when target is found use a cv2 to cv1 converter to play animation 2 however historically these are becoming less and less reliable

Make the sight very short
there is a change line of sight parameters chip change the sight to a lower number

my 'monster' is always facing 90º from me? Also the pivot point is at the front of my hamster charicter
Blue towards you red to the left and green facing up (pivot point when editing)
sounds liek you need to move the pivot point so that the blue is points forward

The monster model I used was rotated looking straight down instead of looking at me. How do I change that?

you have to use things called path points, and a to path chip or set path, been a while
How do you stop the skeleton from making noises when its walking or attacking

When you bake the nave mesh you are telling it where it is allowed to go so it should only be on the surfaces down yhere thats why its got no walls

It should switch automatically, thats why i didn't use a goblin cause it wouldn't switch

Is there a way to disable the skeleton sounds that the NPC makes?. since it kinda gets too obv at some point,
unfortunatly the only way is to move the skeleton way down below

kind of you have to have it stop following and add the cycles in but after the scare and what not have it go back to following

What if it has an animation gizmo and in two halfs
use a cube as your monster then attach you animation gizmos to the cube via a clamp

Starts chase then stop chase then adjust it to be normal, it may still be croked before it chases you but after it starts it should be normal

sounds like your pivot point needs to be adjusted

i think in depends cause like you could move a piston or something like that in the position but idk about like a water bottle hmmmm
I’m gonna make this in one circuit but if there is beta stuff, you will have to wire the stuff to it.
