Solution - It's easier when you have a set schedule, whether or not it's absolutely true, you can state to certain people: "Hey, I'll be busy between X:XX to Y:YY due to work or other preparations for work. Preferably, if you must call, (consider a specific day and time frame) do so in the hours of 5-7pm on Tues and Thurs." This way, you can begin gaining more control over certain people's... phone habits against you. Simply stating "Text me before you call me to see if I'm free. If I don't reply, it means I'm busy." doesn't always work and people tend to forget who this applies to. People tend to remember the specified restrictions more. Hope this helps somewhat! Good luck with controlling your schedule and other environmental factors.

I'm different. I'm alright with 1 on 1 convos, but I'm terrible in group conversation. I don't know what to say and when I do *think of something someone else says something. I just don't know when to interject.
Therapy has helped me. Even though everybody has your own way of being, too much introversion is not healthy. Relationships, as tiring as they are most of the times, are important for personal growth. Gotta step out of that comfort zone.
And it gets worse when they ask you "Why are you so awkward with me/us?" And then there's the panick so you'd be left with a response like "... I... don't know."

Me too. I just feel people's energy fdom the moment i meet them. I notice everything about that person that could make us good friends,i found one girl i feel that can be my bff. Sadly she lives in another city. All the "friends"(schhol friends) are hella not my type,i don't like them because our energies do not match.

Am I the only introvert who loves small talk? Especially when a conversation sparks up with a strangers on the bus or street or meeting people for the first time (only when they initiate it, I don't have the guts to, though I try). Mainly because you both start on the same page, you don't really have to open up much and you're probably not gonna see them again so you can just talk about random light happy things and have no strings attached, so you got nothing to lose. It's just an instant spark of happiness of making someone's day. I guess I'm not really an introvert then, just labeled an 'introvert' alot😅

I'm friends / not friends with this kid that goes the same church I go to and than my family and his family decided to go eat and here some context out of the way I dont talk very much and this kid is no exception sssSSSSO IT'S EVEN WORSE so here we are at the table and than we start talking about games because it's the only thing now how to talk about I talk about the games I likes he talks about the game he likes and than now we don't know what to talk about so know we're still sitting here and I'm trying to not make eye contact and eating my fries and this goes on for like 10 more minutes and what felt like forever after all that's done I can finally sit back and relax... oh and sorry if made any typos!
If there is this awkwardness. Just be random. I tried it a few times. Say things like "I ate a frog once". The other one will be suprised and mostly amused....its a nice icebreaker for introverts :)
That's my favorite part, actually. When people I don't know/care talks to me I look for the awkwardest moments, so they go away and, hopefully, never talk to me again.

I struggle talking to people in general, but it's even worse when I'm on the phone with them. I can't even talk to people I know over the phone with someone I know because I just struggle to formulate words into sentences. Small talk is the hardest for me, and most phone calls from my experience have always been small talk.

Overthinking by definition is thinking TOO much about something. To the degree that the thinking becomes more harmful than helpful. So I just explain this definition to the people who say these things. Because by overthinking they basically just mean that I am analyzing the situation more than they themselves would. I think it would make sense to them if you explain for example with an analogy like a robot has to "overthink" emotions, because they don't just happen naturally on their own. Or with whatever the social aspect is, that requires a lot of analysis. Everyone tends to assume others are like them, so they think too much analysis is pointless because it would be for them.

That accurately describes me too but mainly I have trust issues for reasons I don't want to talk to about because I'm afraid people will judge me for even though I fairly certain that they won't I just don't know what to say in a conversation and it's awkward and I want to form meaningful relationships with a few select people that I know but I ... I think I said too much.

@@caillienotcali4701 look at Germany, they eased their lockdown and now they have new cases of covid 19. This wont go away any time soon, its like a trial and error except there is no vaccine. Its likely that more countries will have the same problem. So lockdown will be longer or it will be frequently on and off. I believe it would be set longer. Nothing is official so dont believe the news when they say schools "could" open.

Some of my favorite memories have been performing full length plays, or ancient military campaigns, or even intense debates, all in the shower of course.

Every year since I converted to being and introvert I never wanted to go to school because of people knowing my birthday. Although the teacher that did stuff for people's birthday didn't do anything for mine and I got lucky.
I had a similar experience this morning. My girlfriend had a friend from her hometown stay overnight at the apartment. I got home from work after they were both asleep but I woke up after the friend was awake and using the only bathroom in the apartment. The door was open because she was doing her hair and makeup but I really had to piss and couldn't bring myself to ask her to let me use the bathroom real quick. So I held it for like a half hour.
Due to the pandemic, I'm stuck back in the states until fall 2022 when my residency is approved in Norway (where my hubby is from). So now I'm back to sharing a rental with a housemate. He's perfectly fine, aside from being an alpha bro. As in he may randomly start doing pull-ups on the balcony. Or speak to me loudly about non-urgent things through my closed bedroom door instead of texting. this may end a murder/suicide....

It's not that what you are talking about (or doing) is of high value ,, but moreso that everyone around you is LITERALLY DOING NOTHING. But imagine someone whos impulsive with a short attention span (with guilt/shame/inability about doing what it is they're going to do before even doing it), that's me :(

I struggle talking to people in general, but it's even worse when I'm on the phone with them. I can't even talk to people I know over the phone with someone I know because I just struggle to formulate words into sentences. Small talk is the hardest for me, and most phone calls from my experience have always been small talk.

Overthinking by definition is thinking TOO much about something. To the degree that the thinking becomes more harmful than helpful. So I just explain this definition to the people who say these things. Because by overthinking they basically just mean that I am analyzing the situation more than they themselves would. I think it would make sense to them if you explain for example with an analogy like a robot has to "overthink" emotions, because they don't just happen naturally on their own. Or with whatever the social aspect is, that requires a lot of analysis. Everyone tends to assume others are like them, so they think too much analysis is pointless because it would be for them.

I had a similar experience this morning. My girlfriend had a friend from her hometown stay overnight at the apartment. I got home from work after they were both asleep but I woke up after the friend was awake and using the only bathroom in the apartment. The door was open because she was doing her hair and makeup but I really had to piss and couldn't bring myself to ask her to let me use the bathroom real quick. So I held it for like a half hour.
What does the phrase mean?
Due to the pandemic, I'm stuck back in the states until fall 2022 when my residency is approved in Norway (where my hubby is from). So now I'm back to sharing a rental with a housemate. He's perfectly fine, aside from being an alpha bro. As in he may randomly start doing pull-ups on the balcony. Or speak to me loudly about non-urgent things through my closed bedroom door instead of texting.

@@Parker_Lot yes , impulsive with short attention span is good for socialization because all the people around you are smart and cautious and doesn't want to be the target of attention .. It's not that what you are talking about (or doing) is of high value ,, but moreso that everyone around you is LITERALLY DOING NOTHING.
But imagine someone whos impulsive with a short attention span (with guilt/shame/inability about doing what it is they're going to do before even doing it), that's me :(
