The 1909 E192 Mathewson is one of the most beautiful cards of the era! Congrats on picking this one up. I personally really love the 54 Mantle! The smile on his face really captures his youthful and uncorrupted exuberance! It was one of the very first vintage cards I got. It is really cool that you got a 39 Play Ball Carl Hubbell! I bought an ungraded 1940 Play Ball Hubbell myself.
So glad we got to meet Rick. Thank you! Absolutely agree about the Mantle card. He's a happy ball player in that shot.

Nice pickups and amazing how many You Tubers there are. I never even watched any RUclips until COVID. The comradery is amazing and obviously become the biggest part of going to shows not just the cards.

Alex, I"d have to say that your pickups at the National were absolutely top shelf awesome. I would rather have a nice looking authentic than a crummy looking 1, and that Mathewson is excellent. The Mantle, well, what can you say other than it looks seriously under-graded. That leaves the Hubbell, and although I have never seen that card before, it's just downright haunting in it's beauty. That's the type of card/photo that you can just look at for hours and get totally lost in it. Just watching the way you collect is definitely helping me shape the way I curate my collection, my friend! Congrats.

Sweet pickups and cool stories about them. Those first couple of days the wifi was brutal. As a dealer, it was impossible to take online payments and lost me a couple of sales - thankfully it got better later in the week.
The wifi didn't improve much for me! Sadly I'm sure a lot of people lost sales. Still managed to have a fantastic time!
Bowman53 wins the National!! Exquisite thoughts and pickups and collaborations and memories and healthy self expression (even if one sig on that ball is a tad ostentatious).
Alex, your stewardship and dedication are a shining example of what makes Hobbytown worth visiting. I keep saying that this hobby feels like a rigged slot machine that just keeps paying off every time you pull the arm.

They weren’t kidding about your videos, fantastic work! I didn’t get to see the Mantle before I left town, but that has to be one of the nicest 2’s you’ll find in a 54! Congrats! Im glad I could help with the Matty, he’s the guy that started my love for pre-war (and good advice from Don). Stories like that one are what this hobby is about!
As for why a WiFi hotspot can work better than actual WiFi though? The world may never know….

The ‘54 Bowman is among my fav Mantles of all-time. This pickup also reminded me of your ‘53 Mantle pickup before you mentioned the same.
