- Aamir Khan’s daughter and mental health activist, Ira Khan, spoke to India Today’s Bhavna Agarwal about her journey with mental health, the process between realisation and acceptance and how therapy helped her get better. Ira also revealed how it took her 4 years to accept that she had depression and how she had t work on her relationship with parents, Aamir, and Reena too overcome hurdles. Ira also acknowledged her privilege and mentioned how she hated herself for it for years before she came to terms with it. Khan also spoke about Nupur Shirke and how he held her in her worst of days. Truly mental health issues are as important or much more important than physical health. External physical illness ppl can recognize but inner mental health nobody understands or cares . It is still a stigma. Please ppl don’t attach mental health with a stigma.

Why do Indians want things for free? You do realise therapists are doing their job and they are doing it for money.... If you want, you can find someone who does it at a lesser price... Just don't ask for free!

When you have infinite generational wealth and do not have to worry about mortgage, loan repayments, struggle with public transport or search for a place to stay, you have enough time to wonder about your existence or your next goal. A life without purpose becomes a burden and thus self centered rich kids have "depression"! Nepotism has now extended beyond screens! Why is she a celebrity? Why is she occupying public space? Why does she deserve a separate interview platform? She is making money out of undeserving celebrityhood by selling "awareness"! Soon she may start a foundation and earn the millions! I would much rather listen to Deepika Padukone who is a self made woman (and an ACHIEVER) and really showed us how to cope with it. Not some lazy daddy's girl! She is a tad worse than Konam Sapoor!
Who are you to judge her, she's literally growing up in broken home despite of all her father wealth, the broken home kids normally have trauma that ordinary people will never understand. Is it hard to be kind to others as we'll never know someone struggle if we're not in their shoes.
