Lovely. I made similar 6 years ago for my step-grandchildren. They are strapping teenagers now, and still demand that they are put out every year.

Hi. I’m quite new to quilting, but I’ve never sewn an advent calendar before. I’ve watched all your 5 videos all the way through and just completed my first calendar. I wouldn’t have had a clue how to complete it without your videos. Plus I’ve learnt lots more tips on quilting in general. I’m about to start my second calendar which is the dog version of the one you’ve made, so I’ll be listening to your running commentary as we sew together. Many thanks for taking such a long time to video. X x

Hi Louise, I'm thrilled that you enjoyed watching this advent calendar series of videos, it's such a rewarding project that will be used for many years. These smaller projects are great for dipping your toes into the quilting world to see if you enjoy it. I am pleased you enjoyed the longer format of my videos too, I know many make theirs shorter but there's so much I want to share that mine are rarely short, but as you have noticed the tips you can pick up can be applied to a whole host of other projects. Thank you for watching and happy stitching 🥰

HI Marilyn, thank you for watching my videos and I'm delighted that you've enjoyed my process for sewing. I know it's not for everyone but I really like to get a great finish and so I'm delighted that my thoughts came across in the video. Please do have a go at your own calendar and give me a shout via here if you need any help or if I haven't explanined something clearly enough. Happy stitching and I hope you enjoy my future videos too. 🥰

Hi Maureen, I’m so pleased you’ve enjoyed the videos. The calendar is a great project and really rewarding, I hope you have fun making it. Thank you for your kind words and for watching my videos. I have a Facebook group if you use that platform, it’s only new but growing and through it I can offer more help with quilting, dressmaking, doll making and cross stitch. Let me know if you think it’s something you’d be interested in, but no worries if it’s not your thing. Happy stitching 🥰

Oh I have two of these panels in my stash that I got years ago and have not made because I was unsure what to do! Now I will get them done thanks Claire!

Hi Pauline, that's great news! I hope your pocket format is the same as the one I've demonstrated here but just be aware that my first advent calendar (not filmed) was a couple of years ago and the pockets were folded and stitched, rather than cut out in strips. So just make sure you check the instructions for your particular panel. Overall there should be some useful pointers for you and I hope you enjoy making your calendars up. I really enjoy them as they are very satisfying to make. Happy stitching! 🥰

Wonderfully explained and beautifully executed Claire. I love that you take time and care both in explaining the process and in the execution. Your results are always spot on. I look forward to watching the next stage.

Thank you so much Marion. This is a really fun make, despite me making it a little more complicated! But I do believe you'll be able to tell the time was worth it for the end result. I'm very pleased that you've enjoyed it. Happy stitching! 🥰

Here I go! My panel isn't strips, but singles and twos with a pleat. Goodness knows how I'm going to do but have to try, with your help Claire!
