I really appreciate your video I’m finally realizing that I need a dust extractor. Your information was as good or better than some “Pro” channels and we need more Veteran woodworkers keep it up brother.
I bought one a year ago and couldn’t be more happier with it. The BT switch is a must too! I lived without it until this week. The little switch is a game changer! No more walking back and forth to turn the CT on and off. I bought the cyclone as well. So far it is doing its job. Thanks for the review
I love the machine. Few things to know: - You cant change the settings when the machine is not turned on. (CTL Mini) - The vac will always turn on if theres a sufficient power draw over its onboard socket. - Turn the machine off via the power switch, it will still allow you to use the socket. You now have a very weird extension cord. - The manufacturer claims the "touch-buttons" last way longer than any mechanical switch would, saving you time. - If the original bags are used, the filter will basically never need changing. I did concrete grinding for hours and the hepa still looks like its brand new. - The bluetooth switch for the end of the hose is a must-have. Never buy without one. - The hose end is rubberized and fits miele and kärcher attachments. The festool attachments are g.a.r.b.a.g.e. - CTL and CTM machines are indentical regarding the mechanics and filtration. There are a few extra electric gizmos in there.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just got my CT MIDI I , sander, and miter saw and found the manuals relatively useless. Your video cleared up a few questions I had and saved me a lot of frustration. Great video!!! Did I say thank you;)
Great in-depth video, just what I was looking for… and more. You have a new sub! Keep up with your RUclips videos, you understood the concept of straight to the point reviews and less blah blah. No wasted of time for viewer 👍
One thing no one mentions about this extractor, it is small but dense. I am definitely glad I purchased it, but looking at it on screen, it looks cheap. When I received mine I quickly discovered that everything on this is actually very well built. The thing is, it is slightly heavier than my large Ridgid Shop Vac, but because it is compact, it is easier to transport to and from site than my Shop Vac. I observed this same thing about the Domino 500 when I got it. It is a little more heavier than I thought it would be. But it is solid.
Yeah your spot on! I was actually surprised as well! I know some people think their products are overpriced but the quality and precision are just unmatched !
I think this model is the best value and sized just right for many applications. Buying the remote BT on/off switch is a must have option too. The BT function will be added to my older, larger CT33 because the remote switch saves me from a 10 foot walk, LOL.
So true! That’s the best feature IMO! I am planning on getting a Kapx in the future and wondering if it would be worth another dedicated dust extractor for it… so many options 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks bro I just bought one you helped me. It was expensive just a retired cop kids all grown serious DYI tell me now that I have the dough, what tools should I bu6. I’m planning on passing down them to my THREE GROWN sons OR THE ONLY GRANDSON 12 8n my family.
Also mine mak packs 🥰 best review of this vacum on net. Thanks mate. Im also makita fan but this festool is just little bit better than makita, bosch, milwaukee...I heard that u are using domino, are u happy with it? Im still with makita biscut joiner and its great. Cheers
I recently caved in and bought a Domino 500 only to discover you have to implement dust extraction with it so I am looking at Festool solutions for it. My question is, do you find the 4 gal capacity is enough or are you constantly changing out dust collection bags?
I do smaller renovation and handyman jobs. I don’t even have a small van, just a little Subaru. have an old Fein 9-20-26 that I’ve had forever. Survived being floated across the house during Sandy. Still works great. But on the heavy, bulky side. PITA to lug around jobs up stairs and into small bathrooms. So I’m ready to keep that for the shop and big, rough jobs and get a small Festool to fit my small transport and job type. The CT Sys vac looked like a great solution, but upon further research, it seems a bit raspy and underpowered . Plus a new corded version is pretty much extinct. So I was “looking” at the CT MIDI vs CT 26 ( pity I can’t “look” at any- I am local to the ToolNut, but they permanently eliminated their candy store of a showroom during covid ). I know the MIDI and MINI share the same guts and the 26 and up all share a slightly more powerful set of guts. If I already have a big, quiet, but bulky shop vac can I get by with a smaller MIDI for taking into customer’s homes? Or will I miss out by not going a little bigger
I love the MIDI foe that reason. It’s smaller, portable and with the HEPA filter it’s great for smaller jobs at customers houses. I got it when I purchased the Domino and the added plus of it fitting in my makita track saw (does not lock in) Hope that helps Chris!
Tell me what tools to buy. I need a good t@blend saw I’ve got a DEWALT discontinued t@blend saw…you look like a good guy for advice…UPS guy smuggles my Festool and tools to me so wife also retired cop doesn’t see…..u know. It’s a dude 5hing…
Nice review, thanks! Silly question, will the auto start work with any brand of power tool plugged in the extractor or does it need to be a Festool product?
@@saltwaterandsawdustwoodwor3415 I have an old fein turbo 4 I had been using for sanding with a bosch ro sander. The filter bag would get very dirty. I nearly gag trying to clear that dust. Now that I have the ct midi, I gather that fein dust with my festool and will sanding exclusively with fein sanders connected to my hepa dust extractor
The problem I would see with that is the HEPA filter is exposed in that space as well so it wouldn’t be nearly as effective. On the other hand I have see other guys reuse the bags. Cutting a slit in one end, empty and tape it bag up with Tyvek tape.
Nice video, very clear, but the quality of the audio recording is not great. If you want to make more videos I would recommend a different way of recording audio. You sound very distant, which is unpleasant since I turned up the volume and then the loud music started playing :/ But all in all it was pretty helpful.

the domino is a bit too heavy for comfort actually haha. But I guess it does mean it will last well, lots of solid anodized steel!

I bought mine in 2020 and its def. my most valuable purchase yet for my business!
Totally agree! I feel that same about mine!!

Great video, thank you for taking the time to put out this info.
Glad it was helpful! I still have it and love it!!
I just learned that my Makita track saw will stack and potentially hook up to the vac, awsesome, thanks...
Glad it helped ya out!!
It will fit the dust port. Both the 36 and 40v

Only complaint is that it should come with the BT remote as standard
Yep totally agree!

Thanks!! So to my knowledge yes. I have used my Dewalt sander with it and it worked with no issues.
@@saltwaterandsawdustwoodwor3415 Thanks, I figured it would but wanted to make sure. Hoping to buy one today.
I like that the bags can be closed so i dont have to breathe the dust as the full bag is put in trash
Me as well! There’s enough extra dust flying around my shop!

Just got the red light for the 2nd time, warranty worth it, but.....shouldn't have that problem
i’ve got two of their extractors but not the bluetooth i need that one 😀
It’s awesome especially since I run my battery Makita track saw with it, just hit the Bluetooth remote button and go! thanks for watching!!!
Love the video I appreciate it mate ❤
Thanks!! Hope it helped!!
Any regrets? Anything you would like to share? Thanks! Happy New Year!
None! I love it, I use it everyday for sanding, track saw ect. Never had any issues!
Thanks much for the feedback. Happy New Year! @@saltwaterandsawdustwoodwor3415
Can you run this without a bag? I'm looking to get one but don't particularly want to waste expensive bags just to run a domino or a flush router

@@saltwaterandsawdustwoodwor3415 you can buy re-usable bags but they are very expensive
Be prepared to buy expensive HEPA filters because they will clog - that bag is what makes the entire system work seamlessly.
