It feels amazing when you complete the campaign without taking a single hit to any of your troops... Even if you saved every 30 seconds in order to accomplish it.
+Ironhammer23 Actually it doesn't. Because then it feels like I cheated. It feels even better if you achieve not losing a single soldier the entire campaign, but not using any saves at all. In fact I like to play the whole campaign without restarting a mission if I get any casualties. More realistic. If you managed to beat the campaign playing that way without losing anyone, especially on elite, then it feels amazing.
+Martmi29 yeah, I used to play many games like this guy, but I watched some let's plays and realized that the real knowledge is thinking before you do something, even if it takes a lot of time. I still save/load a lot, but at least a little less. I remember, when I was a kid, I played commandos beyond the call of duty, that's an RTS-kind of game. And i would just take out guns with all my men and just CLICK as fast as I can! And if the enemies with machine guns would kill me, I would just reload after every 5 enemies killed xD
My first ever war game for PC. Used to literally play 10 hours a day for like two years. I will never feel this way about another game again. And this soundtrack sums it all up for me.
As a kid I beat the entire campaign on elite with the same one demo man in each mission (you can only do this if you take one demo man). He ended up with 15 Congressional Medals of Honor lol
I still cant believe I beat this as a kid 😵 This game is tough. Best thing is to go slow, have one squad cover the other as you move...VERY CAREFULLY!!
You know what would have been cool, if they added a "medic" class where if a soldier becomes "incapacitated" (out of action but still alive) rather than "dead" during a mission, the medic can stabilize the wounded soldier, then the downed man can survive to fight another day. Otherwise the incapacitated soldier would become "dead" after a few minutes. Then it would make sense when the soldier yells "We need a medic here stat!". Whether the soldier would become "dead" or "incapacitated" would depend on where the soldier is hit of course. Also would have been great if you can take an 8-man team instead of 6 just like the old rainbow six games. But I still love the old ghost recon the way it is. Even more than the old rainbow six games.
I remember in 2001/02 I used to play Ghost Recon so much! Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six Rogue and Operation Flashpoint: Resistance were the games I played the most through my childhood... these soundtracks are just beautiful it reminds me of so many great moments playing these games!
Listening to this is so nostalgic...brings back great memories of clans and competitive leagues like TAG. Wish they would remaster this, like so many other comments suggest.
When I was young, the first mission I played in Ghost Recon went fatal, only 1 soldier survived. Chris hunt since then that character is always on my team, it's like a talisman.
Man, playing this game as a kid brings back memories ... Trying to keep your team alive through every mission (and failing) replacing wounded members with new recruits (with abysmal skills lol) and hearing "We got a man down!" or "Taking fire!" always sent chills up my spine. Great game! Getting KIA also played a little music cue which really amped up the pressure, and being the last man alive, wounded, and completing the mission always felt insanely epic. Ghost recon is the shit!
Amen to that, Tom Clancy had these games in order unlike how ubishit is ruining them, especially disgracing the name Rainbow Six with that disgusting sjw trash of siege.
Well guys, there are now a days games like Squad, Post Scriptum, ArmA and more to come and more that I even didn't said. So yes, it's sad that old tactical franchise changed that much, but there are plenty of new offers out there similar to old UBI games to try. I think tactical realistic genre is in a good shape now.
+jessluver Why is the captain using the minigun against nothing but hot air? Don't know just shut up, do as he says and keep out of the firing line. Who knows what he'll target next.
Who thinks Ghost Recon 2 should be remade or upgrade for next gen. Reintroduced Captain Mitchell to a new generation of players. Show them the true Ghost's.
Yalwin Khales Pretty much. I have no idea why they didn't just change the name instead of insisting on Ghost Recon for games that have nothing to do with the original.
I wish giacchino would compose this but bill compose this. It's the best. Ahh man I really remember jungle storm and that music while you set up your platoon.
AHH YES Now I remember.Dont remember the music to great.wait was this when also in the rain escorting the tank. I was perhaps to into the mission and not getting killed to hear the music fully
they really need to make more games like this one, i miss it! i love a lot of the new games and all, but the old ghost recon was simple and badass, and had awesome music! lol, a think a re-make could go wrong tho...
I still replay this game to this day. A childhood friend of mine went into the marines and is named very similarly to one of the soldiers in game which makes it even more fun to play.
i got goosebumps. The sounds were so incredible and i still think the visuals are just stunning to this day. Its a bit like old film look in a way vs digital.
The original Ghost Recon will always be a combat classic, I just wish that they could have made following games of the same stature without over playing the graphics, etc.
It should be like this: Leeuwenhoek was the founder of the most cruel and unusual punishment. It is illegally used in schools around the US to deprive students of whatever life they might have.
I used to want to join the Army a long time ago but no, i fight my own battles all by myself with no help n no support, nothing. Im suprised im still alive...
Went back to play the old Ghost Recons and I just can't do it anymore. Modern video games have spoiled me and now I'm too impatient for the OG Ghost Recons
Everyone thats been in some sort of high up agency for "monitoring" knows what G-MAN means. I didnt know... had to look in a book about this haha. "For Queen and country" - 009

8 years on wow, me and bill brown spoke about this track not long ago his such a down to earth soul this is one of his favorites.

Shit gets real at 00:44 God this game was so bad ass when it came out.
Yep, instant nostaglia hit !
Agreed, for some reason 'Jack Stones' character is burnt into my memory when I hear that song of the play
this game brings back so many memories
I love Ghost Recon Jungle Storm 😭

cover and move, best and only tactic
Unless it's that mission where you have to take out the tank convoy. You can't take your time on that one. Still stuck on it, dang it.
Bill Brown reused parts of this song when he did the soundtrack for Command & conquer Generals, I knew his modern pieces sounded familiar!
Well, this score also appeared in Ghost Recon Jungle Storm for PS2. Good memories :3
I’m glad I’m not the only person who noticed this. Same goes with the scores he made for the Rainbow Six games too.
Was getting ready for work this is qued in my list... Felt like a badass, who was ready to flip burgers
Ghost Recon's music was always so epic damn.

strange how the game where you have 8 soldiers is called Rainbow Six
You and I have the same thought
They should wire this song into your dresser so that every time you open your sock drawer it plays and the rest of your day is epic in like manner!
Haha yeah, that would be epic :)
Just wire it to everything, even in the bathroom. There's nothing that can't be made epic with this soundtrack.
I still have this game for the original X-Box, the game and console still work, I’m tempted to pull them out and go to town
