Way back in the second set tie break we were yelling for Ostapenko to take a breath, to take it down a notch. No way. Jelena was trying to knock the cover off the ball, as if she had caught the new virus called Sabalenka-itis.

Third set begins, and before you know it, it's 5-3 Gasanova and match point! But Ostapenko wins that game when Gasanova double-faults, and it's 5-4, in a jiffy, then leveled to 5-5 as they head for the bench. Ostapenko, pummeled and against the ropes, squeaks out a victory, however, using her vast experience. Grandma said she won by a whisker, yessir, by the hair on her chinny-chin-chin. Loved this one.

Ostapenko was LUCKY to win this one! I notice people are commenting on her outfit - she's trying to cover up her increasing body-fat (SORRY TO SAY)! She frustrates me so much - immensely talented, but *doesn't put in the off-court TRAINING,* THEN behaves like an immature BRAT, when things aren't going her way! It makes me question her commitment & intellect. Such a wasted talent! SMH!
She might have weight problems, but we don't know about what health problems she might have so its better not to judge. She can smack some winners though.

wow how the hell did ostapenko get such high velocity in those strokes... compared to skinny and cute gasanova.. she looked like serena williams.. lol . Gasanova has no one but herself to blame.. she lost because the other girl has more experience and better tennis overall.
But I still pull for Gasanova. Honestly .. I can tell that Gasanova has the grit and the tenacity to hang in there. She is super careful with her shot selection and extremely concentrated in her tennis shots but the experience and the level of tennis that ostapenko showed here makes Gasanova seem like she needs more international play and practice to get better. sorry. I love you Gasanova.. still follow you in your youtube channel. = )

Oste is very talented but an immature competitor. Her ungracious handshake and lack of acknowledgment of her opponent in the ceremony was disgraceful. Even Nick K almost always is gracious to his opponent. Ekaterina is seriously talented. If she can play at this level there is no reason she can’t go top ten.

@@билляайлиш нет, извините, но вы абсолютно не понимаете, вы видимо не в России живёте если так говорите, тут все кто как то высказываются о войне, в лучшем случае теряют работу, а в худшев садятся в тюрьму. Государство полностью прогнило, люди для них ничто. Сейчас происходит исторический момент, либо все совсем плохо будет, либо режим наконец то рухнет. Многие на западе говорят что русские плохие, потому что не выходят на митинги, что русские кто молчат являются соучастниками преступления, но все обстоит ни так, просто русские живут в полицейском гос-ве и тут невозможно высказываться свободно и ходить на митинги, гос-во создало все условия для того что бы противодействовать любым волнениям, люди боятся терять работу, боятся сесть в тюрьму. Среди моих друзей и знакомых, никто не поддерживает эту войну. Её поддерживает только государственный электорат, коих к сожалению не мало, старики, нищии, которые получают мизерную пенсию и им в жизни не остаётся ничего кроме как сидеть дома и смотреть тв пропаганду или сидеть на лавочке у дома с такими же оболванеными. К сожалению что бы все это понять, нужно жить тут..
