I have tried, and I probably would be able to do it, but there is just no reason to run grapple. I would just be running it so that I can say I ran it while it added no real benefit to gameplay. I actually wanted to do a grapple hunter build on hypernet current with thread of ascent and fighting lion back when that was the GM. I did try it, and I came to the conclusion I just stated above. I found that dragon's shadow was better for dodge reloading and getting 100 reload speed all the time. Ill be keeping a lookout for any situation in endgame where I think it would actually benefit me to have grapple instead. Maybe the new aspect we will get next season will help out with that.
I actually started making this build today with gunpowder gamble. I like to try and take underperforming things and make them work. While I could have made gunpower work, it just really didn't fit the build. I needed those 2 extra fragment slots badly, and gunpowder doesn't do as much damage as id like since it is just a singular ignition. I know they are buffing gunpowder next season, so ill be looking forward to trying it again!
@@TimeLordOh well that makes sense. I’ve been using gunpowder gamble and on your mark to get the 4 fragments slots. Then using ember of eruption, ashes, char, and singeing. My advice is don’t think of gunpowder as a big explosion use it like it’s a opportunity opener. Once you hit all the enemies when the grenade goes off the scorch would spread to everyone and it would take one knife throw to ignite everyone else around and a bigger chain happens. Next season is gonna be great for it tho. It’s also a good excuse to use a healing Nade for more survivability.
Nice gameplay, digging how you use unorthodox builds! Still havent seen a solo gm run with grapple hunter from any youtuber, have you tried?

2:30 look for this Nuke 🧐🤯
I’ve been running the exact same build but I’ve been using gunpowders gamble.

What grenade launcher is that? Looking to use this build
That would be militia's birthright. It is a nightfall weapon and can be focused at zavala.
What machine gun is that
It is commemoration. It is the void LMG from deep stone crypt.
