2004 Silverado 5.3L Comparison of Stock Length Y-Pipe vs. Equal Length Y-pipe with Borla ATAK

Stock length y-pipe with cats removed vs. equal length y-pipe with cats removed.
Single 3" pipe from y-pipe into Borla ATAK Cratemuffler to 5" tip behind right rear tire.
Borla ATAK Cratemuffler
Borla P/N: 400844
I modified the stock y-pipe by removing the cats and making the passenger side of the "Y" the same length as the drivers side in hopes of reducing the clap and giving it a cleaner exhaust tone.

Extremely helpful video!!! I have a corsa pro series resonator and muffler on my ‘18 5.0, perfect noise level and no drone but it does clap some. Don’t wanna go full equal length exhaust so this will be tried on mine!!!

Great comparison.
Definitely would need a resonator (perforated core glass pack) before the Atak muffler to get rid of that earpiercing rasp.

Cell phone for most videos unfortunately. Samsung S22 Ultra in these, Motorola in the red truck videos and GoPro on the bumper.
