I’ve tried a bunch of different mufflers but have yet to put the carven mufflers on my truck. After watching this I gotta say that I liked the tone that the TR muffler had on cold start up and will be buying one for my 2500hd with an 8.1 in it

Man you are awesome for doing this. I have the corsa sport catback with ARH headers and careless Y, loved the sound before the long tubes and cat less Y but after that it sounds like shit to me. Thinking about cutting the Corsa muffler out and replacing it with a crate Atak like you did and using the rest of the corsa exhaust! What was your favorite louder exhaust out what you tried and which is your favorite out of all them, the one you plan on sticking with I guess?

I know I'm late to the show, but watched the take off videos and now the idle videos, The wot video they sorta sound the same. I mean you can tell differences but for the prices of some of the these mufflers you'd thing there was a huge difference. Now, this idle video.. this makes a HUGE diffence! If tou get a chance, try the Black Widow Venom 250's. They sound great. They do sound better with a cam though. At idle, man, in this video ,I'm hearing the magna flow and I simple don't like magna flow. Its early, so I'll re watch it this afternoon..lmao

Of all muffler which one give the best deep bass feeling in your chest. Looking to rid the rasp from my ram with the muffler delete , just got longtubes just too raspy and high pitched
The ATAK is the only one that actually vibrated in my chest but it is pretty raspy when compared to the rest. People with RAMS live the Carven exhausts and the TR was nice but I believe they are 6-8 weeks out right now with stainless shortages.
@@ZackMcLeish13 it's Belltech spindles and struts up front and Belltech flip kit in the rear. I only touch the inner fender a tiny bit at full lock in dips but my tires are a little bigger too. I bought this for my daily driver do I wanted 4X4 for the winters and if I get in any ruts in the fields as I still use it to farm with some as well.

The top two are the AFE and the Volant. I felt the Volant had coolest air on average but does require tuning to get it perfected. Tuning and headers gave the most power but I did notice some gain with the Volant. Mine will be for sale soon.

Kinda hard to tell from the video, but which one would you recommend for someone looking for something that isn’t too loud during cold start but still sounds good all around? I wake up at 4am for work and think the people in my apartment complex aren’t happy about me turning my truck on at that time. Currently running speed engineer 1 7/8 long tubes, no cats, to a super 10 single in single out.
The Solo performance is quietest all around but too quiet for me. The Carven TR and Borla XR1 would be a little lighter on cold starts but still may aggravate neighbor. A larger magnaflow or Borla proXS may be better for your needs. What year truck?
Matt Earle was thinking of trying out a magnaflow, just not sure which one. I had magnaflow on my old 01 Sierra that I had a few years back but that one didn’t have long tubes. It’s a 2014 5.3 rcsb
The bullet performance valved catback is meant to be quieter than stock for cold starts and neighbor peace then pretty loud once the valve is open. It's restrictive with the valve closed so don't drive with it closed.
Matt Earle gonna have to look into that and see how it does. Might start off with the magnaflow and see how it goes. It does have a tune, it’s street tuned by a local shop in my area with hptuners
So will the atak cratemuffler work with any year 5.3? I talked to borla and they said it wouldn't work on my 04. I don't see how you couldn't get the muffler to work/fit.
Should work fine. They are designed for certain engines but it is still universal and can be made to work on anything. Just need muffler shop that can do the job.
The TR will drone in the cab as will almost all packing mufflers. The Flowmasters are horrible though. Corsa is the least drone. It all depends on your style. I enjoyed the sound of the TR in the cab and I have a different definition of drone than most. I like to hear my exhaust inside and out.
Can I just swap these mufflers on my stock? Or do I need a catback system? My ranger has a 2.00' diameter pipe and can only fit a 2.25'. Alot of the mufflers you tested are 3' I know a few that are 2.25'.
This is hard to answer. The Corsa had the least amount of drone and could almost be compared to stock at warm idle and cruising but it was also one of the loudest at cold start and WOT. I only tried mufflers that I thought would be loud but not have the farm truck clap under acceleration. My choices are not the best on moderate loudness. The solo was probably the most quiet and drone was minimal then everyone has a different opinion on drone. I like to hear my exhaust inside and out but hate the pulsating drone at certain RPM.
It is not the same muffler as what comes in the catback system. It is called a cratemuffler and is a universal fit ATAK muffler you can buy separately.
For the most commanding deep and aggressive tone at any RPM, I love the ATAK out of them all. For the least drone, mild when you want to be and loud when required, I say Corsa. The Bullet Performance, BBE and Carven TR and all close when looking for good tone but not too loud and still want to hear it when going full throttle. Everyone needs to remember I like everything loud and I have headers. Everything was too quiet for me with stock manifolds and cats including a straight pipe and most were on the edge of too quiet with headers. I also like to hear my exhaust inside the cab and define drone differently than most.
ATAK was loudest overall at all times. Corsa was close at cold starts and possibly louder WOT but much quieter at idle, cruise and moderate acceleration.

I’ve been thinking about that one on my 6.2 and just cutting the 3rd cat but I’m torn lol. It’s one of the cheaper cat backs that sounds really good and is 3.5” for the 6.2
Where does the Borla XS Pro rank in all of these? Looking for an aftermarket muffler for my 2004 GMC Sierra 5.3 completely stock. Interested in the Borla and Carven options.
@@ej1025 If I was going for deep and loudest, I choose Borla ATAK. If I was going for deep tone all around and moderate sound at WOT, I choose the Carven TR. Carven R is more comparable to a straight pipe. I couldn't tell much difference at all between the R series and a straight piece of pipe.

@@MrSMANCHEZ I'm partial to the ATAK but with stock manifolds, I would just straight pipe it with new 3" pipe to a 4" tip if I was going for loudest. Still sounds good and you can add a muffler at any time. I drove mine back that way until I got headers.

I sold both Corsa mufflers I had. You can find them used on forums every now and then but can't buy the muffler new without buying the whole kit. Corsa has started selling universal mufflers but they are expensive and not as big as the muffler for our trucks.

The ATAK is pretty loud but much deeper. All my videos are with a Corsa dB catcack and I just swapped mufflers around each time.

Kooks 1-3/4" long tube headers into their "green" catted y-pipe into 3" pipe to each muffler over the axle exiting in stock location.

ATAK is loudest at all RPM's in my opinion. Corsa is loud at cold starts and WOT. Carven R and widowmaker are next in the loudest range.

Alot of the mufflers you tested are 3' I know a few that are 2.25'.
A local exhaust shop should be able to swell your 2" pipe to fit a 2.25" muffler

I really liked the BBE timbre Chamber. It's what I ended up running in the end. Deep, crisp, nice tone and good volume with minimal drone.

I've never tried the pro xs so I can't speak for it. The XR1 and Carven TR will both sound good.
