- Bullion Dealers Rank Best and Worst Gold discusses the most common and stacked gold and which is the best and worst you can buy. In this video, we rank all types of gold including pre-33 gold, bullion gold, collectible gold coins, and much more. This video is based on our experience as precious metals dealers and is only our opinion. While we have experience dealing with various types of precious metals, the gold we deal with may vary greatly from where you, the viewer, live and what people and businesses will buy and sell to you.

I’m going to have to disagree on the Kangaroo. I think you have to tip your hat to Australia as they have some of the most pure gold deposits in the world. I wish they would come out with the gold nugget coins again. Also, personally I have never had issues selling Kangaroo gold either. Kangaroo’s in my opinion should be in one of the top two categories. Thanks guys, I enjoy your videos.
Appreciate you watching.
A - Gold Eagles
B - Pre 33, buffalos
C - maples, rands, koos, libertads, pandas, philis, brits, slabs.
D - Semi Numi gold, lunars.
E - gold bars (easily faked)
I think you under-rated Pre-33 Gold. Slabs should have been A-tier and ungraded should have be been B-tier. No way that Krugs, Brits, and gold bars belong above rated above graded Pre-33.
@@treyw1171 yes and most bars get less love from coin shops.
Totally 👍
@@Tracy-wr7mj They don't want them here in Northern AZ. Had to go to Phoenix and convert to American eagles.
Sweet Baby Jesus! Another dog doodoo video....😂 Ok, here's my take, best sellers in my shop are Buffalos, Eagles, .9999 Maples, Britannias and gold bars in assay. Worst sellers are Krugerrands and British sovereigns. Personally and what I keep for my stack is all 24K Gold in standard weights. I also like, collect and sell 90% pre-33 $2.5, $5, $10, $20 dollar US coins graded and ungraded. Thanks for the video guys. 👍 Life is good......God Bless
I agree. I like British souvereigns if they are old pre ww1. People buy to enjoy the historical aspect of these. Ducats are relatively decent too. The worst is any non-european gold like Iranian, Egyptian, Carribean etc.
I love the Libertad over almost any other gold coin just because I'm not only part Hispanic but because of the design of the coin
I think they are beautiful also. I yet have to get a gold one in any size.👍
@@mykittenisagrandmaster4381 you tell them!!
The best gold to buy is simple math - which coin / bar (1) has the lowest spread between buy & sell prices, and (2) is quickest to find a dealer to sell to at that price. Last time I looked at buy/sell prices on different sovereign coins at a dealer, the Britannia had the lowest spread.
good point.
I think maples should be at the top. Eagles could be pretty good. Kangaroo higher than Panda. Phil probably in the not bad. Brit’s and buffalo’s placed well.
Maples are four 9's and also have a security feature, I say its a top tier coin!
I agree on everything here except the gold Perth Lunars…I don’t agree with what he said about price going down…a lot of the lunars go up in time..that’s kinda the whole point on all the lunar series..silver or gold…
@@brandongant9343 I agree the years of the dragon and tiger are especially strong.
@ I have a 1/10th gold Perth dragon
I'm an American Australian. I think Andrew has a problem with us. Poo poo on our silver and Gold ? 🤔
@@jasonking7729 I think they both forget that RUclips is global so outside their local markets their opinions are irrelevant. In Australia the premiums on all the foreign minted coins are so high that it makes the Perth Mint coins better value. Thanks.
If it's any consolation, I think Perth is my favorite mint.
I don't forget RUclips is global, but 90-95% of my audience is from America, and we both do business in America, so our opinions are based on our market.
Makes sense for the US which is where you guys are but in Canada Maples (9999) are king. You get paid less for anything else. Eagles/Krugs are useless here since purchases are taxed as they are considered junk gold being under 99.5 purity
Thank you guys for sharing. 👍🙏
Our pleasure!
I just started stacking silver three months ago bought my first gold buffalo 1 oz coin yesterday she is a beauty cannot wait to buy more
Krugs, I know shops which sell them at spot and can't get rid of them.
Should sell them under spot then. Seeing as the price is going to crash in the future.
@@petercollingwood522 you can only assume that,we don’t know what the future has in store for us
How about 50 Peso Gold? Great content.
Unbelievable! I usually agree with Andrew on most things though I have to draw the line here. Stormy, you should stand your ground more often. 😂 Andrew you need to see more Perth mint coins. Both Kooks and Kangaroos change design every year and the quality is second to none as such people love to collect them. I seriously cannot believe you have given the Roos to the dogs. 😢Both should be above eagles and buffalo’s which are boring due to the lack of design change. 🤣 As for the Libertads they should be at the top of them all! Please gentlemen, I believe you should revisit this list with a little bit more love for the Perth mint. 😂🤣😂🍻
I didn't have time to argue all day with him so I let him have his way on a few.
@ Yeh though you let him feed the kangaroos to the dogs? 😂 In seriousness though thank you both for another great video. 🍻
I just like gold. I'm stacking an ounce in fractionals, each one from a different country. Minus Chinese coins. I won't buy Chinese gold or silver.
You don't know what your missing. The gold just feels different when it's mined by slaves.
I like pre-33 but it is true that there is little demand for it and a lot gets melted down. What do you think about older fractional foreign gold like sovereigns, francs, etc? The are not that popular and have lower premiums, but it is an affordable way to buy smaller gold coins. I would rank 1 oz bars lower, there are tons of fakes and no way to verify unless you have a sigma or xrf. Not good if you want to buy/sell privately or use for barter in the future.
Im personally sticking to perth mint, eagle, maple and brits. Dont see myself getting any other types of gold
I love these talks but again eagles and LIBERTADS!
Gold eagle and gold buffalo for sure and pamp Suisse 1oz bars I mostly stack gold eagles and 1 gram pamp sussie bars
I like the look of the old Libertad coins. The new ones are beautiful but only look good when they're on a larger coin (at least one ounce). I hate the pandas. They don't always read right on a Sigma and I'm not sure why. As for gold bars nobody around me wants them so they are dog poo to me. I love the Brits but they're not in such high demand. At least the premium on them is low. As for the Kookaburras I buy the silver and I own some of the gold too. The gold has a very limited run which makes them high demand. They really have appreciated recently
This video can't be more American
Correction, it can be more American than it is. But given that 95% of my audience is American, we make the most of our content towards the bulk of the audience.
Andrew's opinion on gold bars has to be a regional thing.
Simply because I've listened to other dealers on RUclips such as Vermillion Enterprises in Florida and Harry's Coins on Silver Dragon's channel, and Vermillion Enterprises sends all the bars that come into the shop to the refiner to be burned 🔥
Harry has mentioned that gold bars don't do so well in his market.
Interesting, maybe you can discuss that on one of your podcasts??
I can’t speak to other regions because I’ve never done business in those areas, and I doubt Andrew would be able to say what does well in certain regions compared to others.
@EmpirePreciousMetals I understand.
It seems every time I see a video from Harry's Coin Store, he has almost all silver. Either he sells his gold really fast, or he doesn't get much. He did say that gold bars are slow movers in his shop.
My LCS in the Chicago area says the market for bars has changed recently for him. Back in the spring when gold was $2300 he couldn't move bars and had to sell to wholesalers so paid way under spot for them. Now he pays similar to non-US bullion coins and has customers that want to buy them because of the low premium.
This is a pretty good ranking. Always appreciate the Sunday video. I agree Gold Eagle, Buffalo, and Krugerrand top spot. I'd put Britannia and Maple as pretty good; pre-33, bars, and other sovereign coins as not bad, and the rest as meh. Not sure I'd put anything in the bottom tier--it's gold and they're all pretty nice! Bars may work well in Andrew's business, my experience is they are more difficult for LCS to sell so the spread is higher. 👍Is Krugerrand in the top spot because that's what people stacked before the Eagle in 1986? Will we get bearded William on the Britannia?
Great stuff content ..1. Buffalo 9999 2. Maples 9999 3. Eagles ..every else falls between pretty good and meh !!
I would put pamps and Philharmonics at doggy poo. Too many fakes on the pamps, and melt all the Philharmonics! I love the buffalos,Libertads, pre-33.
Agree on pamp fakes, but don't understand people disliking Phil's no different than any other round at worst.
Krugerrands are the considered to be the most popular bullion coin in the world on many lists so they deserve to be at the top with the other coin it shares the list with, the AGE.
Weird to see a gold Maple and gold Krugerrand above a gold Libertad and Pre 33 gold.
I blame Andrew.
Take all the gold Libertads you have at melt😊
If it's Gold I want a Britannia. The security features mean it's the only coin I feel confident of buying without a metal analytics machine. Eagles and Buffalos practically dead last as they are the most faked.
So someone who is ranking gold coins and what not doesn't really know what kookaburras are ? Lol
Not everyone knows about every coin out there. Between the two of us, we cover a pretty wide range of items.
Gold eagles at spot are the best.
Guessing that you would also be low rating for U.S. commemorative gold? I sorta think they may be a sneaky good buy currently…
Yes theyre terrible!
Gold Philharmonic over Perth mint Kangaroos? WRONG! 😂
You guys not interested in Sovereigns? I know they are small fractional coins but they have a great long history and collectibility
They’re ok. I wouldn’t mind owning some down the road.
C'mon Roo's are shit??? You're killin me bro.
🤮
@@EmpirePreciousMetals The low premiums on Roo's is what got me stacking years ago
Best gold - RCM 99999 coins, cheaper than Buffaloes and different every year.
Fascinating, you put 917 Krugs at top and 9999 Kangaroo at bottom. WHAT?
I agree. Odd that he sees Roos as little of value. Huh???
91.67% (22-karat) Krugs...
@@tickedoff1438 Thanks for the correction, I have updated my comment.
Personally I don’t care about Krugs or kangaroos. But this was a joint ranking, so I had to give a bit.
What the hell.....your just talking bullion. You guys are tripping.......what are you guys smoking😂
I love librtad's proof dcam gold. I dont by Chinese for my own principles.
Just buy eagles. Geezzzzzz
You Two Make Me Laugh!!!
Good Job!!!
50 pesos coin?
Americans rating American coins best who would guess
Because they sell the best, here. We mention this several times throughout the video.
What's the big deal with pre 33? It's not any kind of magical gold, it's still just gold.
It's got some historic value. Like the older Morgans. It's cool holding a coin that has history. I wouldn't stack them though.
Stormy....this guy you're talking with is a total jagoff. Knows nothing about collectible gold. Hes never heard of gold kooks. Pre 33 Gold Indians go for a lot more that spot. He needs to do his homework.
Let’s take it easy. We don’t all know everything about all coins. He knows plenty I know nothing about. Together we bring a decent amount of knowledge to the table.
so the gold eagle is not all gold but goes on top? the reasons are all over the map..
The gold Krugerrand and Eagle both contain one troy ounce of gold, but weigh slightly more as they are alloys to make them more durable. Both alloys are 91.67% gold, but Krugerrands are 8.33% copper, and Eagles are 5.33% silver with 3% copper. Similar 22-karat alloys have been in use since at least the 1400s.
What are you talking about? It has 1 oz of gold and other trace metals in addition, copper and silver.
100%
@EmpirePreciousMetals refering to the reasoning..the libertad or the pre33 were set lower but the gold eagle has the same issues..even though of course its number one...the reasoning to me was odd..allegedly..utube do not censor..ty
@@kingglizzer so does pre33..just as worthy.
1 Oz Buffalo's & AGE's in that order. Can't go wrong
