@@shaywhelan1 I love the look of the new Renault 5, I think it's one of the nicest EVs, and exactly how I have imagines EVs to be. Small, cute, colourful. But I was really surprised with the Mini Aceman recently! It was a bomb
I loved the video! I really liked the lines of this Mini Cooper, and as always, you nailed the car analysis. It was great to see you driving with Birkenstocks and feeling so light and happy behind the wheel.
I rented one of these in Maui and it was a blast. This one you just tested is obviously more refined. Oh and when you go-carted out in the beginning, your timing is always impeccable Anna! 🚗❤
@@AnnaOnRoads On that occasion I was visiting Maui but I lived in Honolulu Hawaii for over 8 years. In fact, I can picture you in Honolulu with that Porsche 718 Boxster S 6-speed you tested cruising around with the top down. I think you'd like it there Anna. 🤔❤
I used to have bright red one with the manual gearbox , it was brilliant did everything and more that you covered,it is pricey but it is a real fun and when ever you are driving it you have a smile on your face and there not not many cars you can say that about 😊
I always like your reviews. One of my sons love Minis and currently owns his second one. He prefers MANUAL, and I think it still fits his family even though his children are pretty big now. I'm not sure why he likes a Mini, but looked all over the country for his current one and loves it. I think his is a Countryman(?) or something named like that. Thanks again for another review.
My brother bought a brand new MiniCooperS in 1967 He and 3 of his mates went UK to Italy in it for 2 weeks with all the luggage . It was a pocket rocket just like this one
I've never been a fan of BMW owning Mini but they do seem to keep everybody interested in the brand, and do some fun things with it. As per usual Anna, a good and entertaining review, thanks!! 🙂
I still own a 2006 John Cooper Works I bought new. It's never had a major problem and has always been a blast to drive, especially as it's manual transmission. When I bought it, people told me that it's a lot of money for such a car, but I think I've gotten my money's worth over 19 years. I'm not a fan of the current circular screen or the way they label driving modes, but it still looks like a fun car.
Cute, fun and attractive … the car, that is! 😀 Nice to see a normal petrol car that isn’t a tedious SUV or boring plug-in appliance. Hooray 👏 Nice review. Anna, you’re on form!
Great review Anna, Minis have always been like driving on rails in corners. Not so sure the rear indicators “arrows” are “pointing”as one would expect to see them
I presently drive a Ford Fiesta hatchback. It's small but fun and easy to drive around town or country roads. I like everything about these Mini Coopers but the price. Thanks Anna
Wow Amazing Launch Anna over half a second quicker to 60 mph , mainly a 2 seater use the back seats for extra shopping and travel lol ,shame it wasn't in Yellow oh you were though , 😉sporty yellow stands out from the crowd oh and easy to spot in car parks the car that is 😂Apple car play all day for me plenty of tech wonder if the JCW is worth the extra Anna ?
Ah. One of the vehicles I actually own (as a convertible). Mine’s a ‘24 so I didn’t get the new interior refresh with the OLED display. An absolute blast to drive alone but it feels on the “snug” side if I have someone in passenger side. Back seat? Forget about it. So would I own? I guess that’s a yes 😂
@ the same color as your dress in this video 😂. I wanted to order the updated model with that screen but was told it would be mid-2025 before I’d receive it as a convertible so I was limited to what was currently in stock. (will try sending via Instagram)
I had a couple of Minis. from the last century, yes the original ones. Although the power was nothing to write home about the handling would want you to write volumes to send home. The later 'big' models didn't really do anything for me initially but I have grown not to dislike them. I've not been in a modern version yet but who knows, this boring old fart may just get a second wind at some point... maybe less said about the wind. A great video as always Anna. Another top job very well done.
It is like driving a very expensive go kart, cooper’s especially here in the states have like a cult like status people absolutely love them. I don’t get it.
Let me help you 'get it'. I have a 2023 JCW Mini Convertible. It's the only convertible available today that is shorter than a Miata, yet seats four people. It's also the only car sold where the top can open partially as a sunroof or all the way as a convertible. It's also fwd so its great in the snow and can be driven all year round. Lastly, it handles like it's on rails. The Mini is the car that can do it all.
Thanks Anna for your good road test of the Cooper S but it is expensive. I think a petrol version of the Renault R 5 will be a better propersion when it becomes available.
I had no idea the top speed is 242/km/h. Very impressive. I'd be curious about the feel and control at that speed in the Mini. I'm betting you've given it the litmus test.
Hi Greg, oh yes, once BMW got their hands on engines, gearboxes, things became smoother and faster. I can assure you, the Mini performs in a fine manner when reaching top speed 😈
Hi Anna! I don't really think the name Mini Cooper fits the car, considering how big it is. I drove a real Mini Cooper in the 70s and it was smaller and lower than the modern version. When I see this Mini Cooper, I get the feeling that this car would be fun on a smaller gravel road or driving on a smaller winter road. To drive and have fun with it. I'm sure you would also find it fun to drive the Mini Cooper that I just described. I'm a man and I wouldn't choose either gray or black. Would choose either a beautiful metallic color or classic British green with a white roof and light interior.
Anna…the colour reminds me of my first car…my 1961 Austin Se7en Deluxe in Speedwell Blue! Even the light grey seats have a link as mine were the usual light grey mix pattern vinyl. Should I get one???. The range is very small as an EV but the price is big….a petrol one might work! As a tow car, proably all you wil ever need! 🤔😀😀😀😀Richard
Looks good, colour nice, but so uncomfortable on U.K. roads, suspension seems unnecessary hard, very tiring, never driven one here in Spain where most roads are much smoother, nice review.
Looks and sounds like a winner! I'd absolutely love one....if I could fit a bicycle in the back with the seats down. Yep, who wants a boring, boring SUV??? You have a great day too!

The big display seems very distracting (something you don't want whilst driving a car). Cheaper materials and asking a higher sale price, hmm. On the ouside I dislike the rear lights (the ones on the previous version were perfect) and the "intake" on the hood/bonnet is missing :-( Sorry Mini, I won't be buying this version (and I'm not alone, seems Mini sold about 30 % less in Belgium in 2024...)
What do YOU think of the new MINI? Is it a 'yes' or 'no'?
The new Mini design looks too clean in my opinion. Needs more chrome applications or something else to make it look better.
@@totoarriba I quite like the new simple design but there you go, sometimes it might be too clean for some!
Yes
It's nice looking, apart from the rear lights, I like it. But, if I was going that small, I'm afraid I have already fallen for the Renault 5

Actually, it's just my gold ring ;-) But it has an aura about it
Hi Anna. Good to see you reviewing a smaller car. I love Minis, but that dash material looks like it will attract fluff.
When I first saw the new Mini I genuinely thought it was a Suzuki Swift !
The Swift is the real new Mini because it's still relatively affordable for the masses.
Absolutely, some similarities, but the Mini ride is far superior. Although I love the Swift Sport, what a mighty rocket!
I always view these as a ‘second car’, my daughter had one for a while and I liked it…… but I have heard of long term common reliability problems
