- Great song by the Steve Miller Band. The video shows all kinds of events and people about the USA from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

Played this on 8-track in back of a pickup with a canopy.....2 a.m. going fishing with dad in the 70's......dad's 84 birthday was 8-30-2023 he's the only one left besides me.😢
Bless your dad! ❤ The hardest part of getting old is losing those closest to us. Give him a hug from this lady 🙇♀️👍🏻 and you have a good day✌🏼
Take care of yourself.
Such a great video! God bless America 🇺🇸!!!!!
So many fond memories. Back when America was great!
I was 15 years old in summer of 1969 saw Steve Miller play this song at Canaveral Pier in Coca Beach, Fl.
Wow, couldn't of made it any better, the images fit the song, perfectly. I miss the 20th Century. Lol
Yeah Baby, the White Boy sure had it good, for a little while though.
@@yourworstnightmareiscathoc7015 Yeah, great times in Vietnam bro!
@@x00p3 those commie fools have no brain. Thank you for your service.
I moved to another country for a while… and can’t wait to come home!
Steve Miller has got to be one of the most under appreciated artists of all time.
his first five albums, for sure
We just saw him in concert in New Hampshire. He was GREAT.8/2022 pnss
Ya, and considering that Les Paul was Steve's God Father. Great editing for a Timeless Tune!!! 3:47
How did you come to this conclusion?
Not to us!!!!!
Great job. Awesome editing with an awesome song. Somebody give me a cheeseburger! Thank you. USA! USA! USA! USA!
Great video, great song! When I was a DJ in the 90s this was my outro...
This is cut VERY well. Impressed.
Awesome song to listen on a road trip.
Great song and video images! Pretty much says it all....
This is one of the very best clips I have ever seen on RUclips, or anywhere!
Great song, great memories, Thumb up for this presentation.
Great job of meshing vintage documentary footage to the one of my '60s favorites! "We're gonna make it, baby!"
My favorite line is "Somebody get me a cheeseburger."
This reminded me of IN-N-OUT.😋
My mom's too^^
Was quoted by Steve's good friend, the Hamburglar. Lol
EXACTLY!!!!!!!
🍔
One Summer day in 1969 or 1970, The Steve Miller Blues Band was getting ready to play the first concert song. I heard the drummer wonder aloud if the audience "would be offended" at the song. Introduced as "Your Old Lady," I found it on LP as "Living In The U.S.A.," which wasn't offensive at all.;)
My 'old lady' was a term of endearment, back in my day✌🏼
I got the Sailor album sometime around 1971-73 and my friends & I wore the grooves out of this song.
Man what a great job, Flying Dutchman, you definitely captured the essence. USA best place on earth.!!!!
AWESOME!!! Right down to Morrison screaming! Perfect job, dude! 🇺🇸👍🇺🇲👍🇺🇸
I thought that was Morrison also. It may not have been
Many guys in that era imitated his post-Dade County look.
@GwenBurton-mv3up It's definitely Jim Morrison, the footage is from a short film that Morrison made around 69/70. Most of which features him driving in the deserts and highways in Southern California
It really does look like Morrison
@@richardsiciliano7117 I never followed Morrison because I met him in New York City in a boutique near Elektra records
@@richardsiciliano7117 please excuse the multiple replies my phone will not allow me to type I have to use voice and cannot use punctuation Jim had very scary eyes the FBI suspected him of some carjackings along the Route from Florida to Los Angeles before he was famous he was brilliant and educated but he was a psychopath
By far his best song IMHO.
Video showing video clips of the mobile-freedom culture and related movie clips.
Many of that generation were convinced that we were living in a “plastic” land, as opposed to most of the rest of the world in poverty and class separated societies.
What decries in the song was the culture that allowed more freedom and prosperity than any other.
What the song decries..
@@PeterKKraus -Yes. What he or the song decries. That’s what I get when in a hurry. Thanks.
Almost a prophetic statement for today. Living in a plastic land. Best song by Steve by far. I remember a long time ago looking at the songs on Greatest Hits and Living in the USA wasn't on it. Put the album down and walked away. Just how?
Awesome!!! Always loved this song...
I'm a great fan of the Steve Miller Band. I was kind of disappointed with The Joker LP. I felt it was a sellout to the bubblegum pop era, which many bands engaged in.
@@robertthomson2952 lots of generic bands in the 70s.
Loved this and Steve Miller since 1970!
This is one smokin' tune!
I love the imperfections as much as the s#!t they nailed!😁
This got it started for me. A show called music connection. Been a SMB fan since 67. SM. Boz. Loni. Tim.
It's perfect ! It is a masterpiece !
3:46 JUST EPIC)))
Old school muscle cars
Fuckin A bro
Having worked in HOLLYWOOD for over 40 years, I have to congratulate you on your great creative editing...
I worked with many an Oscar winning editor, and they'd be very proud of your work, on this USA salute and the MIDNIGHT COWBOY montage.
Wonderful work, and the right selection of music editing to the beat!
video like this almost makes youtube relevant! awesome perfect video for a rock classic - thanks
Excellent video to the tune man. 🇺🇸
A York was our hero cousin Alvin the ww1 hero marksman. But u know that cause we are both Yorks
Very cool Brother Ray playing the Kalamazoo Synthesizer @. 3:04
Still quite relevant today. 😎👍👍
A very nicely done video collage.
Really enjoyed. Thanks
Happy Bday Steve.
Awesome video
Back in time I was
Born in 1963

Good job with the video. It really made me feel like I was back in those days again.
One of my top favourites of Steve Miller Band, this is an all round great song and you did an AWESOME job on mixing a video for this song, perfectly fits!!!
Love this song❗🎵🎵🎵STAND BACK❗STAND BACK ❗

Happy Birthday, U.S.A. !!!!
Now those were CARS!!
Great video for a great song. Well done.
Im just here for that Cuda & Jims 68 Shelby. ;) 1st thing an Imigrant gearhead Kid sees, is beautiful Cars in the 60's & early 70's. Eternal Love for the USA.
sept for american indians...we are all imigramts or kids of them. I miss my 66 GTO where this song got played on an 8 track cassette while I put rubber patches on many streets.
J@@yarygork2334True that. A light Blue '65 try power Goat was my High School ride lol Bicentennial class of 1976 .
👍👍👍Ah yes, the good old days🇺🇸
why was this NOT a national hit? what was there a bigger better sounding song at the time? this song makes me want to drive FAST!!!!
Perfect.
Outstanding video for a memorable tune - well done! 😎
There is a very rare version that says Were living in a fantastic land instead of a plastic land becuase the radio thought it was a slight to say plastic.
Awesome video man!
Really nice job on this video. I like how you got the Beach Boys groovin' with the music as well as Morrison's "movie" clips.
More true than ever all these years later...gotta get away, livin' in the U.S.A. What an album this was!
A.W.E.S.O.M.E. !!!!
Great video. Shows the madness.
"Somebody get me a cheeseburger!" 🍔🍟🥤
Fantastic
Oh my god it still exists. I remember seeing this video back in 68 or so. It's what got me into Steve Miller. I went out and got Children of the future and Sailor. I was about 11.
You couldn’t have seen “this “video in 1968. Some of the cars in it are way newer than 1968
eazy rider came out in 69 i think
Right. The show was called Music Connection. Have no clue how I remembered that. It was on from 69 to 70 or 71. It was 10 years before MTV. It was a local Philly show.
Superb video, great selection of images. The only other video I've seen here that's as evocative is one of Nat King Cole's Route 66, though from nearly two decades earlier in America.
This is a great video.
Great video...great song!
Bravo!!!
Awesome!
Well done sir. Peace.
We used to have the best of everything in my generation. Where has it all gone?
to hell
Hi, Hello, Syndi Sue. 😉

LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!
Jim Morrison's Blue Lady😎👍
This song is SO underrated!! I mean that harmonica intro..... are you kidding me?! If you want to see another Steve Miller song that is underrated you've probably never heard of- Google 'Heart Like a Wheel' -it's AWESOME!!
A lito seas bogo dodding.
lub dis song🎵 ❤😂
Anybody remember how good that cheeseburger was?
That is when life was. . . . .
when every small town had a drag strip..
all day, every day
we need america to look this again
The first I heard this song was on Sgt. Bilko. Funny movie .
Gangster first single for Steve.
The astronaut tripped over a moonrock.
Excellence.
God bless my fellow Americans boom
Cool video accompaniment you made but ya kinda dropped the ball at the end, Those car sounds are two drag racers heading toward the finish line with the announcer in the background. A quick video matching that would make your work complete :)
nice
"Lefty Muderbach is up ahead.

And he takes it, ‐ let me know, please, Eric
