Hello my Wii remote doesn’t Sync to my console even though i tried using the red button, the bateries work right but there’s something unusual and it’s that when i put the bateries in, even though i don’t press any button the lights start going right, left, right, left like the video and they don’t stop until i remove the bateries. I don’t find any solution in RUclips, nintendo’s page or chatgpt. Does someone have a solution??
If you want to clean the spots in the port that a q tip can’t reach, you can use a toothpick. You read that right, a TOOTHPICK. Dunk the toothpick in the isopropyl alcohol and do what you did with the q tip.
I have a problem going on, and anything could help. So basically my Wii remote doesn't give any response when it's getting synced and no lights turn on, when I leave the wii remote alone for 3 hours the blue lights come back on but when I click a button on the remote it blinks 3 times then 2 times then 4 times. I've tried to sync it and put it to use but it doesn't connect. Now I tried to sync by holding the wii red button for 3 seconds and the wii remote red button for 3 seconds and when I did this the lights just kept blinking like 12 times. Now I tried it again and the lights aren't turning on, this has happened continuesly for the past week every single day I try to sync or bring it back to life. It comes back to life and when I try to put it to sync it dies again for another 3 hours.
Were you were you raising as much as proofure who literally is like fuk fuk fuk and throws his Wii remote told Edition with Wii Motion Plus inside all around just cuz he rages at wii Sports for Mario Party or Wii Party or Mario Kart
I fixed a decent bit of controllers and they work great but they all seem to have a pattern of losing the button sensitivity. If I press the buttons lightly they don't seem responsive and I have tried many different ways to fix this. Any advice on fixing this?

Just to be sure, it was not working before (not turning on at all) and it is still not working after following the video. If it's the case, was there anything looking suspicious inside ? Did you test continuity ? Did the battery you are using are good ?
@@RepairResell yeah it hasn't been working for a while. I actually have two wii remotes. One of them works perfectly fine while the other one just dosent work. Nothing looked too suspicious so I'm not entirely sure. The wii is about a decade old.
If any of your buttons fail or start spamming out of nowhere, just replace the batteries. Try this before opening the controller it might solve your problem.

Was able to reconnect my old wii remote! Had issue with the plus button sticking and home and minus button also stuck but not working. Giving the exterior a shot, i can feel the buttons loosening. If not I will buy a tri star screwdriver and give the interior a clean! P.S. I have a wave bird GameCube controller. When holding the A button, sometimes it stops working. Do you think I should open that up too or is it too complex?

Tried all your steps. I am getting 3V at the battery terminals and I even checked continuity at the two test points you mentioned. All fine. I tested the 3 fuses for continuity and all fine. But still the wii remote won’t turn ON. Any other way or solution?
Hey men, I’m not sure if you have any idea on how to fix this: I have 2 controllers and 2 nunchucks. when I plug any nunchuck in any controller, everything works fine for some time and then after 5-25 minutes, the controller and nunchuck becomes unresponsive. It is still on and connected but to fix it I have to unplug and plug the nunchuck again… then the wiimote are responsive again… Do you know any solution for that ? It must be a nunchuck problem not a wiimote problem right ?

Hello i seem to be having an issue with 2 of my wiimotes, the lights are slowly stopping to work, yesterday I noticed that the 4th light was not responding on the white wiimote Today I noticed that the 3rd light also stopped working While testing the black and white wiimotes I noticed the black one only showed 2 lights and the white one had the 2nd light slowly fading away, is this an issue with the batteries?
The vinegar trick worked for me, a friend threw away what he thought was a dead wiimote.. I have to disassemble the entire thing. Soaking the metal contact only,, making sure the board does not get any vinegar (i wasn't sure what will happen if it did). It worked. Using it now on a laptop to play gba emulator.
Don't worry vinegar would not have damage the board as long as you clean it out after (usually with IPA). I am glad that you succeed to restore that dead wii remote !

I haven't had this problem, but I read about a similar issue a while back and idk if it might help. It has something to do with the console's bluetooth module, but apparently the guy had it fixed by simply disconnecting the console for a while so the electricity runs off of all it's components.

Great Video! I have a VERY minor comment - Vinegar is an acid. I believe that battery leakage is basic so your advice is accurate. I have a completely dead remote (no LEDs will light). I have a VOM. I did disassemble a different remote and first check is to see 3.* VDC between the */- terminals on the motherboard with batteries installed. I haven't tried the tracer technique that you show - I'll try that now.

i know this isn’t ur fault but u completely messed up the controller once unscrewing since the bit near the sensor wich u need to push in to open the remote snapped and i couldn’t close it after
There's probably something actually broken inside the controller. Best thing you can do, really, is open it and see if you can find anything dirty/damaged/broken.
So my Wii remotes Audio keeps crackling and no matter what I do it doesn't fix it, I even tried buying new remotes. I think this is a problem with the system, or this is a severe case of Wireless interference, but turning all my electronics off didn't work.. Any ideas? The remotes work normally, it's just the audio messing up.
Wii Remote audio just doesn't sound good, ever. However, remotes that were not made by Nintendo are usually even worse, some of them do crackle a lot. Are you using official Nintendo ones?
After a few minutes the remote dies if I remove batteries and wait some minutes, it will turn on again when I put batteries and will die soon again. Not a battery problem. I'm going to try and replace the main capacitor, that huge one near the bottom. Am I nuts?

Do you mean, charging it in a dock of some kind? I had a set of rechargeable batteries for Wii Remotes years ago. The batteries eventually wore out and wouldn't charge at all anymore. Have you tried different batteries?

Hey Repair & Resell, when I play my wii but my wiimote's button 1 unresponsive and I am not sure if there have graphite from a rubber keypad or I have to replace it. (It may be hard to find only button 1 and 2 rubber keypad) I had not yet open my wiimote because I dont have tri-wing screwdriver.
There is a good chance that cleaning it from the inside with IPA fix the issue. Otherwise, I think you would be able to find some conductive pad at low cost on the Web.

Shipping cost can be expensive. It would be better to invest in some tools to open it and try to fix the issue. I am pretty sure giving it a good clean inside with IPA will do the job. Otherwise, you would just need to change the conductive pad.

@@RepairResell I’m playing wii sports resort, swordplay duel. I tried recentering the sword(where you press down on the D-Pad), and recalibration the remit. It uses wii motion plus.

you need to sync the wii remote, hold the red button next to the left battery and the red button in the sd card slot on the wii, then hold them both at the same time for 4-5 seconds and let go

how do i get my plus sign to work? all othrr buttons work fine. seems to be a syncing issue. has to be some setting on the system?
You had a great video but there is one thing you left out I am missing a silver piece out of the battery chamber so the battery would just be sloppy

Do you know why the remote plus and minus buttons move across the main screen? The dpad does nothing. Home button works but then can't press anything
Is it only doing that in a specific game ? Did you open the controller to take a look inside ? Did you notice anything suspicious ?

How long does it take to dissolve the corrosion that is on the wii circuit board?
It's usually pretty fast. You can leave it for 15 minutes if you want but in some case corrosion will have destroy vital part of the controller.

8:26 - I had to do that scratching on that exact same button (2). It’s working again!

You would need to trace the contact with a multimeter to know what's wrong.

Try using a friend's remote if possible. That will tell you if the problem is the remote or the wii.

So, I have an odd problem. My +, - and home buttons don't work when playing a game that requires a nunchuck...not sure why.

when I reset my Wii remote to sync it to my Wii U the remote fails to turn on unless it's charging, but as soon as I stop charging the Wii remote no matter how long I charge it the remote turns off. please help :(
Do you mean, charging it in a dock of some kind? I had a set of rechargeable batteries for Wii Remotes years ago. The batteries eventually wore out and wouldn't charge at all anymore. Have you tried different batteries?

Hey Repair & Resell, when I play my wii but my wiimote's button 1 unresponsive and I am not sure if there have graphite from a rubber keypad or I have to replace it. (It may be hard to find only button 1 and 2 rubber keypad) I had not yet open my wiimote because I dont have tri-wing screwdriver.
There is a good chance that cleaning it from the inside with IPA fix the issue. Otherwise, I think you would be able to find some conductive pad at low cost on the Web.
@@RepairResell hey, i want to update for my wiimote, unfortunately, it seem unfixable... because nunchunk connector port have serious problem, It is struggling connect with nunchunk.

Hey i need help because my one and two buttons not working correctly because a few months back i let my wiiu stay at a persons house and it came back with the one and two buttons broken. You had to press down hard in order for it to respond but i also dont have the tools to fix the buttons and i will ask you can u fix my controller on my b day and i will pay with my b day money but its in october so this will take months which is s a d
Shipping cost can be expensive. It would be better to invest in some tools to open it and try to fix the issue. I am pretty sure giving it a good clean inside with IPA will do the job. Otherwise, you would just need to change the conductive pad.

My home button is spamming.. 😩it keeps jumping in and out of the home menu. When i hold the home button the problem is fixed but i cant play that way

@@RepairResell I’m playing wii sports resort, swordplay duel. I tried recentering the sword(where you press down on the D-Pad), and recalibration the remit. It uses wii motion plus.
@@garrettfobes1091 Try to clean the connector of the wii remote and of the wii motion plus part with IPA (there might be a bad connection between the two of them).

Hello thank you for the video. I wondered if you could help. I put the batteries in and turn on the remote and the only thing it does the four blue lights on the remote are flashing. They don’t seem to settle and we are not able to use it . Thanks
you need to sync the wii remote, hold the red button next to the left battery and the red button in the sd card slot on the wii, then hold them both at the same time for 4-5 seconds and let go

You can try to redo the solder joint of the speaker or to change it :)

Yeah, if the other Wii remotes are working correctly, it can only be something wrong with the sensor behind the "black window" of the wii remote.
