Can a teen raise a toddler alone in The Sims 2?

- I feel like this is a challenge so many people did when they were kids and now I want to give it a go! I played The Sims 2 to see whether I could have a teen raise a toddler without parental supervision.
I originally wanted to try to raise the child to a teen but, as you'll soon see, the game fought back against that idea. I've realised now, the kids were trying to show their report cards to parents that didn't exist, hence the random teleporting glitch lmao.

The jump bugs after school are because your sims have no parents, but are trying to run the action to show them their report cards. Don't worry, it's not corruption! I've had the issue before and got a mod to fix it. Though I'm not sure why the gravestone disappeared... Maybe on one of the jumps it deleted it because they were trying to interact with that parent?
it happens with the Newson family they are teens, children, toddlers. so I will move in the Goodie family to have that run smoother.
Could you please tell me the name of the mod :< I have the same issue...

the reason why your sim kept glitching and not getting homework after school is because the parents are dead. there is a fix for it by tunaisafish!
I found this fix as I was uploading the video this morning! I will have to try this again properly in the future

I mean, I haven’t watched the video yet, but going off the title alone I’m saying yes? There’s literally a whole family in the Sim Bin that is exactly this, only harder. They’re called the Newsons - two teens who are left in charge of their siblings (two kids and two toddlers) when their parents pass away.

I made 3 Sims and maxed their skills and use them as nannys when my game sims get pregnant.
I move one nanny into the houseld ... without becoming family ... and then have them do all of the work while my game sims build their relationships with their babies and toddlers. When everyone is all happy and able to live on their own the nanny moves back in with the other nannies as if she never even left.
The nanny's never inneract with the families. I socialized them on the phone or computer ... something like that so there were no memories of them.

Loved it! Idk if you had to kill the parents for the toddler but I thought teen sims can already “find there own place” on the computer and live by themselves while going to high school? Can they not just do that with the toddler?

It’s not always corruption :) most of the times it’s just a placeholder. You can watch April’s Black deep dive in this topic, it’s really great!

I like having an adult sim get pregnant have bby then make them into teen so its like the teen gave birth because making a teen sim pregnant with mods makes my game break when giving birth

Um, hate to be the bearer of bad news but those squiggly thought bubbles aren’t usually a good sign. In the old days, we used to think that was a sign of hood corruption and I can’t remember if that’s been debunked or not (some things have, some haven’t). Sometimes squiggly thought bubbles can just be a sign that the Sim is looking at a piece of CC that doesn’t have the correct symbol for the thought bubble, but it looks like you’re playing a CC-free game so I don’t know! 😂 Someone more knowledgeable will no doubt correct me in the replies anyway!
Edit: with the constant jump bugs you’re getting even after moving house, I’m leaning towards corruption. 😬 I do have a lot of mods to fix up and smooth out the game but I never experience bugs like that…
The jump bug is likely the teen trying to go show the parents his report card/grades but there arent parents. I've had it happen before and it never caused issues luckily
The squashed needs icon basically means the game is looking for something but can’t find it. It’s not corruption, it’s more like a problem glitch. Most likely it was looking for the information on the dad’s missing grave, because the game knows it should be there, but it accidentally deleted it in a glitch. It CAN eventually cause corruption but it’s a very minor one that really isn’t that bad and will not kill the while game.
