Am I the only one who loves Lilith x Dirk? I never swapped boyfriends because I liked the idea of Lilith being finally understood by the local ambitious boy.
The ironic thing is that Dustin and Dirk are two incredibly similar people: both are poor orphans struggling after death of a parent, whose other parent is jobless and they want to get out of the poverty real bad. The bad boy/good girl and bad girl/good boy relationships give far more depth to the game than the very straightforward good girl/good boy dynamic and vice versa. Lilith and Dirk have made friends when struggling with absent parent (due to neglect with Lilith and grief with Dirk), while Angela is on her „I can fix him” quest and that’s good. Simple storylines lead to boring gameplay later, it’s good that they matched them this way

Lilith craves stability, affection and understanding and gets it from the "good guy" who doesn't see her as a delinquent but rather as a misunderstood and neglected young woman who just has to experience love. Angela is trying to escape her "good girl" and "golden child" reputation (which must get frustrating), seeking thrill with a "bad boy". She's sneakily rebelling against her parents and trying to find out about a different path of life. Teenagers rebel and experiment, Maxis perfectly captured that!
@@yzma9959 now that you're saying this, you're completely right, Dirk and Dustin have indeed a lot in common, they just happened to choose the opposite directions to solve the problem and Dirk and Lilith just were there for each other when Dirk was struggling with his mother's death and Lilith with being neglected. Now I see the point of splitting them and shipping Dirk with Angela even less lol.
I always keep Lilith and Dirk together, same with Angela and Dustin for the exact same reasons listed above. Angela is considered the “perfect golden” child in Mary-Sue and Daniel’s eyes and I think Dustin is the one that brings out her “rebellious” side while Angela brings out the good in him. Lilith is more of neglected child than a bad one and Dirk is the only one who is able to see the real her and fully understands why she acts the way she does. Both couples just get one another. I never understood putting Angela/Dirk and Lilith/Dustin together but that’s just me.
You should check out the Littler family from Bridgeport, they're like the TS3 Pleasants equivalent. Such a mess with Reuben hating his kids, failing work, cheating with the live in nanny and having a secret daughter

Angela become a docter or marine biologist and Lilith become a musical prodigy and become a rockstar.

With the “pleasant” family, in my save file, Dan and Mary are divorced living separately, Mary sue is boss babing it in a luxury flat with brandi broke and her kids, Dan is surrounded by all of Angela and Dustin (and dons) children with no time to enjoy life, Angela got caught cheating and is now in a rubbish flat and has no custody of any of her children, while Lilith and dirk are THRIVING so long as Angela fails to seduce her sisters husband 😂
daniel had the biggest glow up in my game. he lost almost everyone. kaylynn started a fire killing herself and mary sue. Angela was in a toxic relationship that didn't end well, leaving her adopted son behind. Daniel took him in and moved in with Nina Calente and they went on to have two kids while raising his grandson. He died platinum and everyone loved him. Lilith left the home early on and went to live with her maternal grandparents, the oldies! She went on to marry a townie and had a daughter but cheated on him with dirk n they ran off to be a power couple. leaving her family behind.
*laughs awkwardly in the corner* then there’s me who broke Dirk and Lilith up and had paired her up with cyber goth girl. Who’s family took her in after Mary-Sue “kicked” Lilith out and dumped her on her girlfriend’s porch. On the upside! Lilith’s never been happier and now has a cute GF and a whole attic to herself! The pleasants were my fav sims 2 family. I actually had Lilith run away from home and go live with a family of my own and then Lilith wound up dating the sister princess who was very pop-punk in pink and black. Lilith became a teenage vampire and later a vampire-witch. I loved Lilith the most because I related to her. Never would have occurred to me to have them swap boyfriends. I did t much care for Angela. The good girl next door wasn’t relatable.
“Failing goth” is a weird stereotype to me, but that’s probably because I was emo with straight A’s, and Bring It On taught me that preppy people think cheerleading > grades (around the time I was playing The Sims 2)
I'm so glad that I mnot the only one who does boyfriends swop (at lest when I decide to NOT copletly ruin Angela's life), this configuration to me it's just much better. I usually don't have Dustin and Angela go to uni but they end up doing pretty well for themselves and their family 🥰.
I never got the Angela hate and getting revenge thing tbh. If you look at their points Angela got more points into niceness as she aged and Lilith got more mean. Both are neglected. Angie goes to school and Lilith rebels. They end up naturally liking each other as adults so I let them do their own thing as teens.
I had Mary-Sue throw Daniel out and afterwards alls she did was spin wants for him and he did the same for him. I think the affair makes them stronger, it’s weird
I keep the relationships the same. Daniel and Mary-Sue were too busy working to raise the girls properly, being twins Angela got all the attention. Lilith was left attention starved while Angela became narcissistic. Lilith is the nicer one, deserving of a nice man. Dustin is the town criminal, and Daniel hates him… so I play it as if Angela is aiding and abiding his criminal activity and Dustin swipes some of their household items for his dump trailer. Then once I have the Oldie’s (Mary-Sue’s parents) move in and teach the girls how to study, Angela moves in with Dustin and Lilith with Dirk. Then Daniel and Mary-Sue have her parents and his sister, niece and brother in law take the spare rooms. Angela over in the Broke trailer and Lilith in the Dreamer house, they have their space from each other to get ready for college! Daniel and Mary-Sue finish out their adult lives climbing their career ladders and don’t have to deal with the twins they didn’t really want haha
It would have been more funny if Mary-Sue cheated on his husband with new maid which I saw in your video. To make Daniel taste his own pill so to say and then broke up with him. Daniel loses his job and finds out his wife woohoing another sim, that would be the drama swap!

Daniel, Kaylynn and Lilith go on vacation, and I use the "forgiving" thing to repair the family relationships.
