    Performance Marching Band - Grade 4
    Nothing builds intensity and drama like Stravinsky's “Firebird Suite.” Perfectly constructed and paced for an impressive closing production.

    This was my audition piece for drum major. I had to learn how to do 7/4 time sig. I don’t miss the duties of drum major but I miss conducting

      I'm planning on conducting this for my drum major audition. How did you conduct 7/4? So far I conducting in 4/4 and switching it to 3/4 and just been doing that for the 9 measures

    • @johnnytheyoungmaestro
      @johnnytheyoungmaestro Год назад +1

      @@jvc9987 In this case, it would be easier to split it up as 3/4 + 4/4, and then 4/4 + 3/4. Alternate between that, and it will come together in a way that you and the musicians themselves can understand.

    At the end, our trumpets play a full C chord, but the octave above the staff. The ones with best range end the show on a double G

      @noahhawthorne6866 4 года назад +1

      And I thought our band was cool by having trumpets add a couple of high C's to the ending chord

      @@KillerRaspberry We were the talk of our district cause we had awesome props and dances and packed with our bent leg marching. It made it very majestic. Listening to it and watching it on video( I was marching) gave me goosebumps

    closer for our show this year. Beyond excited. it's my sophmore year and my first year on Mello. I'm auditioning for the solo around septmeber when we start intense rehearsals. Wish me luck. The solo is honestly easy to sight-read. I think the only thing that would be a problem is the tone of the horn itself. so excited to pick up my baby and hit hard this schoolyear.

    • @kirakustime1215

      The "canon" warmup that phantom Regiment has played since 2003 is a combination of Pachelbel's Canon in D and Stravinsky's Firebird. The last few chords in the arrangement are transcribed directly from "Firebird." Phantom Regiment transcribed the last few chords of their "canon" warmup from Firebird as well.
