Same issue. Kept topping up and oil symbol would not go. Followed instructions apart from the cable. Just disconnected sensor and back and it worked a treat. Thanks really helpful video.
what a great video had an audi a5 2009 that kept asking for oil then i searched up about it found this, went back to front of vehicle and found the sensor disconnected
What if you add just a bit too much and the oil level says “reduce oil level please”. I’m in the middle of nowhere and this car tells me once a week it low so I’m constantly putting oil in and this time I must have put maybe 1/4 cup to much maybe if that and now it says it’s too much. So what do I do?
I am having same issue. I have replaced the sensor didnt solve the problem. Mine also doesnt show on dash that the hood is open so most likely its the same problem. The wire that you inserted does it have to be a special wire? I tried it with one I could find but it did nothing. If I disconnect the battery completely will the computer reset it may be? Thx
hii i got little relief i have audi q7 2017 it keeps tellin oil level low and red sign comes up sayin turn off ur engine but when i check oil level it say max from LED coz there is no dipstick to check .. but when i turn the engine on again its gone right .. and it comes up again in little bit n i have to repeat turn of n on procedure audi dealer says they can’t find ny issue . may be u need to replace engine and i dnt have nymore warranty left

Thanks you it works for me.I change the oil sensor,and it still shows low oil level,but I did what you do,and its no showing any more.
Yes worked, I was in Utah and I kept adding oil i felt it was too much added 3 quarts so had jiffy lube change it so it would be good

Good video you can take the micro switch out and clean it and it should work again as normal it gets covered in gunk and can't operate.
