After successes in small to medium sized commercial and government environments, and in communications, they were eventually wiped out by a hostile takeover and the arrival of PCs. A great success when introduced, but rendered obsolete by the march of progress.
If they were rendered obsolete, they did not innovate fast enough to keep up with the developments. A product is never finished, it just has sellable versions in between.
THIS! This is the style of Android that all of the thousands of "Android TV Box" units should be using. Looked like there may have been some UI animation glitches though. Like when you were going in and out of "full-screen" with the apps/windows it appeared like it was leaving trails. Of course I guess that could have just been a video capture issue. You should try installing this on a decent AndroidTV box
Performance as governor locks the cpu cores at maximum frequency. This obviously gives the best performance, but sacrifices the efficiency. Ondemand is generally the most common android governor as it ramps to max frequency instantly once there is load coming and slowly ramps down the frequency on idle. It gives you almost the same performance but keeps power saving intact.
LineageOS far superior in performance which is a shame cause this is far superior in UI and function. I hope it gets improved over time. As is the screen flickers black when anything graphically intensive is launched. Even things down to the play store which was the big attraction for me and even on the initial setup it was losing the pic over hdmi. I may be a rare case, but I really hope they improve it over time. Cool OS in general though.
not at all, it's not HW Acceleration the issue,i it's about certified device by google + whitelisted from netflix + Widevine DRM L1 for HD content, otherwise even if you have both but widevine L3 it's going to be 360p

Ok so ive got a few issue that i wanna see if u can help resolve. Issue 1 :storage. Ive noiced in the program I have up to 5.5 gb to use when i have a nice 128gb that is in use. 2. Can u over clock it while using this os. I thought there was gonna be setting in the setting menu for it but there wasnt. Im really enjoyibg usung it almost every day trying every game i used to play on an old android i use to use. Oh also #3 howndo I update it when it comes to updating it. I do want to resolve any graphical issues that ive been having and i believe its just from it being an early build. I would love another and detailed video on this os
Maybe emulation is a possibility, I can't find any info on it tho. I just bought a rock pi which uses the rk3399 CPU and can run Twister OS, they're priced reasonably and have a raspberry pi 3 style form factor, quite a bit more powerful than a pi 4 tho

I really like the front end feel of launch box/big box over retro-pie. I wonder if it would be worth running launchbox on this LineageOS on the pi 4 I have in my arcade cabinet, or would the OS overhead slow down the system too much?
I was curious of that too, I think the extra threads used by the OS will be 5-10% off the top. This OS is lineage-based and should show you some of the limitations. Maybe an overclock will make up for it, seeing as the Pi's real limit it the GPU bottleneck.
@@Dnizzle25 S21 ran the SD 888. The S22 runs the SD 8 Gen 1. Different processors. Eta already showed us performance gains over the previous generation SnapDragons. There's absolutely a difference I can personally attest to.

They could release an android os for raspiberry like an ouya dashboard that is pointed to games and easy joystick navigation with friendly setup. Both this system and lineage os have wrong mapping for all playstation gamepads, doesn't pair wii mote..etc.. They could do an android gamestation OS to use with raspberry :)

Prime OS looks lie it's got some nice potential...BUT I just learned about Twister OS and I'm thinking of putting it on my PI4 8GB - I'm not sure if you've done a video about it Twister OS, but I'm gonna have a look for it now. If you haven't could you do one and tell us what you think? I only got a short glimpse of what it can do and it had nothing to do with gaming, and that is the main reason I would switch from Retro Pi... it looks like you have a little bit of everything with Twister.... :)

I've tried to install it multiple times on different SD cards that have been able to run other OS but after the rainbow screen i let it be for a long very long time but I only get a black screen, can someone help me?

I installed Prime OS on Raspberry pi4 and it works great, the problem arises when I connect it to my 10" WIMAXIT touch screen. Once the screen was connected I modified the config.txt file according to the vendor's instructions but I can't get it to work. To understand if it was a problem with the screen, I tried to change the operating system, I started the Raspberry with a microsd where I had installed Retropie and I saw that it works great. it definitely looks like a graphics rendering issue
They might address the issue before the Alpha release.
You can fix those by using the "Disable Hwui overlays" toggle from Primeos settings..

That keymapping feature is game changer for pi, it will allow playing games which were not previously playable without touchscreen.

That is cool and all but the lack of hardware acceleration on AOSP based systems for the RPi stinks as it'd really help with Netflix and Prime Video.

You should do a S22 emulation and dex test. We know you did the 21 last year. But I'm interested in the new SD 8 Gen 1 chip performance.
Nothing will be different with that phone simply cause the processor is the same only difference is the stylus can now be put away like the Note

Downloaded and installed this today. Seams broken. Won't allow one to type, sometimes it will one letter only. Can't launch the apps menu, etc.
